Located directly on the Gulf of Mexico our beachfront home - the Sand Crab West, offers the vacation escape your family desires. -- a quiet location, a great open floor plan, and an awesome beach view.

$20k in upgrades for this season!! The kitchen is updated with exotic granite counter tops, big new fridge & microwave. A full renovation of the top floor full bath is complete with all new fixtures, vanity and cool tile. We added another king bed, and swapped an old one out for a Crate & Barrel iron bed. We also rebuilt the 20x20 deck with smooth boards and new railing.

Two years ago, we brought in an extra long custom made dining table from recycled timbers & added a new stainless steel ceramic top stove. All bedrooms were redone with new linens and fresh bright colors, the master suite bath updated with a luxury master shower & bench and new furniture.

The Sand Crab West is nestled within the quiet Bay to Breakers community, located in Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores, 18 miles from Hwy 59 west on Rt. 180. Bay to Breakers is a low density development and a short walk to Ft. Morgan State Park.

Sleeping Accommodations for 14 with 5 Bedrooms:

3 King beds, 1 Queen bed, 1 Full, 4 twins.

** (3 Kings, 1 Bunk Room (1 Full/Twin bunk, & 1 Twin Bunk), and full size sleeper sofa. The 5th Bedroom (1Q, 1 T) has a queen platform bed and twin loft.

First Floor - New king bed with comfortable linens, TV & DVD. A full size bath services both the king and the main living area. There is also a full-size sleeper sofa in the family room.

Second Floor – The Master Bedroom on the second floor has a TV w/DVD, master bathroom and private deck with Adirondack chairs. Additional bedrooms include one room with King Bed + TV, 4th bedroom with queen bed and twin loft, and the 5th bedroom with 2 bunks (Twin Loft, Full bed under & Twin Bunk). This is set up as “Hang-Out” room for the kids with a 40' flat screen & PlayStation for games & movies.

We have listed on VRBO for 10+ years, helping families plan the perfect vacation. As a family, we have done many multi-family beach vacations and have visited many different beaches across the country. We are always looking for new ideas and better ways to improve our home and the overall rental experience.

In addition, I have been the President of our beach community's HOA for 7+ years. This helps me manage any problems guests might encounter around the community as well.

Why Shawn Callaway chose Fort Morgan

I grew up near the Delaware coast and went to the beach nearly every weekend. I have found the Ft Morgan/Gulf Shores area to be much like the Delaware beaches when I was a kid -- plenty of room, freedom, and relaxation.The Sand Crab West is nearly a carbon copy in footprint, layout, and features as our Dolphin East (VRBO#49967). We felt bad having to turn away return guests and hope with another quality home to offer, it will be easier for them to stay with us in the future.

What makes this house unique

The Sand Crab has great views of the Gulf of Mexico. Very quiet escape with empty lots to the west. The best that Ft Morgan has to offer...a truly relaxing getaway!

Family Reunion

We really enjoyed our family reunion at Shawn's place. We had 10 adults and 3 kids and the house was very spacious so everyone had their own spot to escape if they needed it. The storage room had everything we could have needed for the beach so there is no need to bring beach gear unless you wanted a tent as the one at the house was broken. We loved star gazing from the porch at night. Make sure you get your groceries in town as it is much cheaper and I would recommend bringing your own alcoholic beverages as the Fort Morgan stores charge double.

Perfect relaxing beach house

Spent the week with my wife and two college age boys, my 80 yr old mother, my two 30 something nephews and their families, which includes two young girls and we had a really good time. The home is so nice. We loved the living area, kitchen, deck, and everyone loved the dining room table and benches especially. It was so nice everyone eating together. Everyone had things to there, from body surfing, hunting shells, sun bathing, swimming, building sand castles, to visiting the near by Fort Morgan, the local zoo and deep sea fishing. We also really enjoyed the pier access, the little girls caught their first fish, speckled trout on kiddie rods! Very relaxing, nicely furnished, plenty of space and very accommodating owners. We would definitely go back.

Perfect place to spend Thanksgiving with family

Cozy and comfortable, yet very spacious. More than enough room for 8 adults spending TG week together. The provided WiFi allowed 2 of our group to work from paradise.

We cooked all of our meals in the large well appointed kitchen. It has everything you could want for preparing food and serving a crowd.

Sand Crab West has all the amenities a family could want or need.

The location really seals the deal. Dunes, beach, Gulf. Nothing to impede the amazing view. Peace and quiet rule the day.

Shawn provided us with all the info we needed beforehand., such as directions, check n instructins and what to bring. While we had no need to contact him, I know he would have taken care of any issues we might have had.

My family rarely agrees 100% on anything. We all think this was our best family vacation, and are all in to return next year.

Great location, great owner,

The house was just like the pictures indicated. We were especially pleased with the dining/living/kitchen area. Our family of 10 had plenty of space, could all eat at one table, and enjoyed family game nights in the living room. The front deck could handle us all as well. Although you are a 15 minute drive into Gulf Shores, you can't beat being oceanfront! Not only is it oceanfront, but it is much quieter here than most places. You're only 2 miles from the tip of the peninusula and less than 1/2 mile walk along the beach before you run out of houses completely. There are no high rise condos on the beach in this area. We had the oceanfront masterbedroom and it was spectacular with it's unobstructed view of the water. There were plenty of beach chairs, kids toys, etc.

When we arrived at 3:30 pm on the 4th of July we encounted an issue from the previous renter. The owner, Shawn, worked diligently to rectify the situation and make sure that everything was satisfactory and that we were inconvenienced as little as possible. I know that wasn't what he wanted to be doing on the 4th, but you couldn't tell it from the way he handled things for us. We wished that the bedroom on the main floor would have been an en suite, but with everyone else upstairs for the night it mostly functioned like one.

The weather was great, the pool was warm and uncrowded, the beach was amazing, and the water warm and clear. If you're there in the summer, stop by Fort Morgan on Tuesday night. They shoot off cannons, and rifles, and you can tour the fort. We had a GREAT meal as Sassy Bass about 5 min. down the road. We also went into Gulf Shores for mini-golf & go-carts & ice cream. We rented ocean kayaks and they were delivered to our door. Perfect.

This is a great house on the beach!

The house was amazing! Very clean and in a great secluded location. We loved the beach access and the limited people there. The owner had added the 5th bedroom right before we got there and it was amazing! The kids slept in there and loved every minute of it. They even made it a playroom when they were awake and not at the beach. We had 3 families of 4 people each and it worked out great. We had plenty of room! The dolphins gave us a show almost everyday and the fishing was great. We Had a small problem with the refrigerator but the owner made every attempt to get us a new one. Lowes was just too busy the week we were there. It was not a problem though since we had plenty of coolers. Overall we loved the property and will definitely be back next year!!!

Great Family Vacation!!!

What a great vacation we had. There was 11 of us and we had plenty of room. House was clean and had just about everything you could need. Shawn was very pleasant and helpful. First time we had ever rented like this & he made the whole process quick & easy. Whatever type of vacation you are looking for (active or lazy) this was the perfect place. Quiet area with just a short ride to town. We had 2 teen-agers in our group and they were never bored. I throughly enjoyed sitting on the big porch and watching the Dolphins playing in the water. Tacky Jack's is great for watching the sun set. Would highly recommend this property. Can't wait to go back!!!!!
