Homey, Waterfront Gathering Place With Views and Private Beach

Restful/fun-filled get-away for family, friends, book club, writing group, retreats…..

Situated an hour midway between Seattle and the Canadian border is our three bedroom, two bath, split level vacation home with views of Port Susan Bay, the Cascades, Mt. Baker, brilliant sunrises, neighborhood eagles…..

In this home-away-from-home, you will find a large dining/living room area with adjoining kitchen fully equipped for meals ranging from microwaved to barbequed to gourmet. Seat 10+ at the dining room table or eat on the deck, in the yard or at the beach. Enjoy watching your own or our eclectic DVD/VCR collection, ditto reading – your books or ours. Play a vast array of assorted games, some dating to the 1940’s, work jigsaw puzzles… In the daylight basement, play pool, dance to LP’s on our 60’s stereo console, play the upright piano and have a sing-along. The bedrooms are on the main and lower floors and floor space with futons can be used throughout the house.

Outside, relax on the deck, play badminton or croquet on the lawn, head north or south on the beach for long walks, explore the neighborhood… The county park, just one block away, offers a boat launch plus a sandbar at low tide. Kids love it!

Our home may be the only destination you need, but an 18 hole golf course and small shopping center are three miles away. Short drives will take you to other beaches, parks, trails, shopping, restaurants, antiquing… To learn about yearly activities/offerings/celebrations/fairs…, check on Camano Island's Chamber of Commerce website.

We invite you to enjoy our family gathering place, purchased in 1938. In 1980, the second generation owners replaced the original cabin with their retirement home and now we want to share the beauty of this wooded, waterfront property and the comfortable accommodations with you. Our vacation home is a work of love in progress. It is comfortable, very family friendly and has been the site of many special occasions – birthdays, graduations, weddings. It is nestled in a magnificent setting and we would like you to enjoy it as much as we have for 70+ years.

Excellent House for Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We had a college reunion in July. We rented 4 beach houses. This is the one hosting 12 people from Canada, California and New York. Everyone says that this house is a great set up. The house is well maintained and is very clean. It has a nice kitchen with all the equipment needed, though we did not do much meal cooking. We did enjoyed socializing with friends inside and outside of the house. Some of us have not seen each other for more than 30 years. It's a great place to sit down and shared with each other our stories no matter you sit inside the living room or on the patio facing the gorgeous beach front. We definitely love this house.

The owner, Cathy is a very kind and generous person to work with. She gave us detailed information about the island activities. She won't charge tax on the rental and returns cleaning deposit fee when we keep the house clean and did cleaning before leaving.

It is really an excellent beach house for a small group of reunion. We would like to come back in the future. We have recommended this house to our friends who plan their trips to Camano Island.

Our family reunion just wouldn't have been the same without this great place to meet! The house was just right for our gathering - plenty of room, well stocked and very clean! It was on the beach and Camano Island offered great views as well as a vacation like atmosphere. We will definitely return here to this hidden gem!

Great Gathering Spot

  • 4 of 5

This is a great spot to gather with family or friends. The house is very social and comfortable. The decor is basic/vintage, but clean and well-stocked. If feels like you are staying at a friend's parent's beach house. The beach is just down the steps and there are so many great parks on the Island. The bedrooms are all pretty separate from the living space on multiple levels, but the basement is loud with walking above, so bring ear plugs if you want to sleep in. Great spot! Thanks to the owners for sharing it!

Cape Cod

  • 5 of 5

Our stay on Camano Island was perfect. The house was large for a family reunion, clean and all sorts of amenities, games, puzzles, condiments, towels, blankets, too much to describe. We didn't need anything! The views were phenomenal. There was more than enough space, so if you wanted some quiet time you could find a niche. Golf was down the street, easy access to everything.

Great rental for a book club retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 5 spent 2 nights at this lovely home this past weekend. It was very comfortable; everything was labeled so we didn't have to keep opening drawers and cabinets. The property is clean and well-maintained.There are lots of games and video's and dvd's. The downstairs sleeping area was a bit cool the first night until we turned on the heat a bit. It is a short walk down a staircase to the beach and one can walk a long way on the beach.

The weather was glorious the rest of the weekend and we could not have had a better place to stay!

Fun places to visit on Camano: hike at Iverson Spit, hike at Camano State Park, visit the sculpture garden and shop.
