About Michael Drew
Now retired and loving it. We have owned this place for over 20 years. We offer it for rent when we are not using it ourselves. It is a wonderful home and well maintained.
Michael Drew purchased this House in 1995
Why Michael Drew chose Tahoe Vista
We love being up in the Sierra mountains and especially Lake Tahoe in the summer. Our place is perfectly located in a quiet residential neighborhood close to Northstar Resort, Kings Beach (Safeway store) with hiking/biking trails accessible from the neighborhood. This property has a large backyard with professional Bocce Ball court and it is less than 50 yards from Lake Tahoe conservancy land that is free of residential houses almost all the way down to Lake Tahoe.
What makes this House unique
This is a modern home with vaulted ceilings and unique architechural details. Natural light fills the house and there are views of trees in almost every direction. For your entertaining enjoyment there are 2 large outdoor decks (one off the living room and one off the masterbedroom) and a backyard patio. There is both propane gas grills and charcoal BBQ for outdoor cooking. Enjoy a fun game of bocce ballon a professional bocce ball court in the backyard. For relaxing you have choices, a finnish hot sauna and outdoor 6 person hot tub. On cool mornings you can enjoy the warmth of heated stone flooring in either the master or main bath. Great location for fine dining and lake access, Kings Beach is the best beach at the Lake. The best dog beach is at Kayak beach just East of Gar Woods.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Tahoe Vacation with Friends
The house was perfect for three friends with there families to come together for a Tahoe vacation. By far the best part about the house was the backyard area with the bocce ball court and the fire pit. Everyone really enjoyed the space. And the location was perfect for trips to Kings Beach and hiking.
Plenty of Space
Great location, close to Kings Beach! Kids loved dining together at the big table. Everyone loved the Bocce Ball court!!! Plenty of space for 2 families to spread out and enjoy the house.
Will choose this spot for our next get together!
The perfect N Lake Tahoe getaway
The place was well stocked and plenty of room for comfort. The sauna we could not get to work for some reason everything else was awesome owner responded fast to any ?'s Kings beach we loved for summer time fun if you have large group this is the place to stay I recommend.
Good place to stay but a little wonky
The house was fully functional and had some nice amenities. However, we could never get the sauna to work. We tried multiple times, contacted the owner, followed the instructions and had different people follow the provided instructions and it would not turn on. This was disappointing as it was a huge reason why we chose this place in particular. The owner did have it checked and the person who did said it was working fine so I have no idea what happened. Other than that the house was perfectly fine for some college kids but the design was really awkward in that the only common bathroom downstairs and the only common shower is also the entrance to the 3rd bedroom, hot tub, and sauna so no one could take a shower unless you either trapped people in either space. Some latches weren't working either and there was a small leak where someone placed a bucket underneath when we arrived.
Either way it's a perfectly acceptable place to stay.
Enjoyed our stay at the house. The suana and jacuzzi definitely enhanced the stay at the house.
Ample room for large groups.
Accommodates up to 12. Several outside decks for outdoors, dining , gaming, socializing. Good location. We’ll stocked.
This house is in the middle of Northshore and has easy access to all Lake Tahoe has to offer. 1.5 miles from highway 267 makes getting around the Tahoe Basin effortless. The drive around the Lake is breathtaking. Don't miss Emerald Bay and stop to enjoy the scenic little towns that surround the Lake. The house is in a quiet pocket of homes just up the hill from Kings Beach. All the homes here are surrounded by tall pine trees. Nature abounds with lots of wildlilfe, from chipmunks to bears. The roads in this neighborhood dead end at hiking trailheads. Winter and summer these hiking trails are used and maintained by the forest service. It borders the Tahoe Rim trail which is a destination for some with endless hiking trails you can access from the house. Brockway Summit is well know for its path to Tahoe City, and Watson Lake is also worth hiking or biking to. In the summertime you can walk to our neighborhood park, North National Park (they host summer concerts there too). The park encompasses approximately 124 acres of predominantly active recreational activities. An 18 par fitness course, ball fields, Frisbee Golf, & playground are just a few options. In the wintertime they offer a fun sledding hill for tubing and snow fun. This house is located within 20 min. to all the ski resorts on the North Shore; Northstar in the closest and newest village. Northstar Resort village was modeled after Beaver Creek Colorado...cobblestone sidewalks, copper roofs and a multitude of restaurants and shops that line the 'square'. The square is an ice skating rink in the wintertime and roller skating rink (becomes a outdoor movie theater at night) in summer. The bon fire pits and outdoor bars are a wonderful way to relax with friends and enjoy the ambience. Skiing @ Northstar is family orientated with lots of ski programs for all ages, and a pristine mountain that keeps a good grasp on good snow conditions. If you are staying a week I recommend taking advantage of the other resorts too; Heavenly, Sqaw, Alpine, Mount Rose, there are so many to choose from. A bonus is from the house you can drive the back way to Alpine and Squaw Valley which will eliminate the morning traffic through Tahoe City. Both mountains have tons of excellent skiing, and mountain biking in the summertime. MT Rose is where to go for open terrain, Diamond Peak for kids and an easy day skiing. Both are 15 min to the house. In the summertime, Kings Beach just down the street is a State Park with lifeguard and lake toys to rent. The beach is the highlight with wide sandy beaches and Lake views you have to experience to appreciate. There are many smaller beaches up and down the strip for reading a book, and dog beaches for your K-9 loved ones. Brockway golf course in Kings Beach is a must for those who enjoy the mountain flight of a golf ball; as one of the top 9 hole courses in California, its known for its yardage and views. In the wintertime the course becomes a snowmobiling park. Tahoe City is 12 miles away and offers a wonderful day trip with shops, restaurants, spas and outdoor venues. The Truckee River is our playground for fishing, river rafting and floating, and bike path to view all. If you did not bring your bike, you can rent one in Tahoe City and enjoy the bike paths that surround the Lake and provide a off the road path along the Truckee River to Squaw Valley. Or you can stop @ River Ranch, a river front restaurant with large outdoor patio at the entrance to Alpine Meadows. Here is where the river tours end and usually where the rafts have issues. You can spend the day here watching the rafters and enjoying the River Ranch menu and drink. Between the location , amenities of the house, and your favorite family & friends, you'll have a great home to stay at while getting a true Lake Tahoe experience.
