In the area, most businesses are open, especially those associated with tourism. However, there is limited access to the Caribbean National Forest.

If you want to do sightseeing outside of San Juan, a car is almost an absolute necessity in Puerto Rico. However, if your plan involves morning coffee with a view, the beach, books, good food and company, it is possible to do without one. All within walking distance from the apartment you will find other beaches, a supermarket, a pharmacy, restaurants, bars, laundry, churches, doctors and other services. The village of Luquillo is also within walking distance. Taxi to the apartment costs about $65.
