This property has large pecan trees, lots of shade, and backs up to Green Pastures restaurant. We are walking distance from many excellent restaurants and stores on South 1st Street and South Congress. There are several coffee places in any direction from house. Less than 2 miles to downtown area, and a quick drive to everything in Austin.
Everything you need is at your finger tips. and it is quiet!
Erin's guest house is a wonderful little space with great natural light, peaceful vibes and a comfortable bed. The location can't be beat and Erin is very welcoming. We will be back!
We are locals and were having our tile floors removed and hardwood installed. Instead of living in the debris, we stayed here 5 nights and walked to a neighborhood restaurant every night. Erin and Paul were perfect landlords and although the house is tiny, it had everything well arranged and was just what we needed.
Not sure we could have picked a better place in Austin. The location is great. The room is very comfortable, very clean, and had everything we need. Very efficient use of space-- it's small but wasn't constricting at all. Good shower, comfy bed, AC and fan. And a few little extras from beers to waters to lotions.
The owners, Erin and Paul were EXTREMELY helpful and the epitome of Texas friendliness. From helping us figure out logistics once uber and lyft pulled out of the city, they responded nearly instantaneously when I blew a fuse, and they were very accommodating to giving us room access around our flight times.
You CAN walk to a lot of places from the property but it's definitely in a neighborhood of homes (really cool ones too). Based on the location, Uber would have been ideal to get to certain places or possibly even bikes, but if you're an active person and have some time, walking is doable.
All in all for the value, you can't beat what you get. Thank you for the wonderful accommodations.
Our stay at Erin's property was truly relaxing. The little house makes efficient use of its space and the bed is very comfortable. The yard for the dogs was a huge plus and the porch to sit on was the icing on the cake. The rates are extremely reasonable and all in all it was a great place to stay!
If you're on a budget, looking for a clean, safe space to sleep and shower, and are ok with very basic amenities, this place is pretty much perfect. I just got back from a 4 night stay at the tiny home and it met all of our needs.
Murphy bed was more comfortable than I expected
Mini fridge was good for beer, water and leftovers
AC and fan kept the air flowing
WiFi worked great!
It really is in a great location, but we did end up renting a car (get to that in a minute)
Things we wished for (not deal breakers)
With there was a bathmat
Full length mirror would be nice
Before the trip I kept going back and forth on a rental car - I always have a car when I'm on vacation, but also we're active and walking a few miles isn't an issue. I was convinced we would survive on walking and using Uber/Lyft. First day we did exactly that....and the second day I ended up renting a car. Walking from here to there in the humidity was not enjoyable. :) The car worked perfect for us during the day, exploring the city, going where we wanted when we wanted....and we had no issues with traffic or parking - maybe we got lucky. Uber still worked great at night when we had more than one margarita....from the house to downtown / Rainey Street it averaged $7.00 one way.
I had a really great time in Austin and if I ever return I would definitely stay here again! Thanks Erin and Paul!
