Amazing location and great for families

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days with our 4 kids at this beautiful condo. We chose the condo because it was located on the beach with 3 rooms to accommodate our family. When you first walk into the living room/kitchen you quickly understand the beauty of this location. With sliders on both the west & north side of the condo the views are amazing. You could spend hours just on the patio. We saw dolphins swimming almost every day, and the sunsets were beautiful.

We also loved the ease of beach access and the fact that it wasn't as hectic at Maderia Beach as it was in Clearwater. Our kids boogie boarded, fished, collected shells etc. everyday. There is a shower and hose at the entrance of the condo from the beach making it so easy for a quick rinse off without heading up to the condo. The pool is small, but our kids also liked to take a break from the ocean and take a swim in the pool. The locals were also very friendly and this property seems to have repeat visitors from all over country. Many people we met have been coming every summer and staying at the property. They had great fishing and fun recommendations!

Great air conditioner and washer/dryer was a huge asset. Bedrooms are also located on the north side of the condo, not sharing a wall with the neighboring condo, so if you have loud neighbors you can close your bedroom doors and never hear a peep. The street can be noisy, but it is worth it to stay right on the beach. Kitchen had most of what you need, and what a view as you cook!

The condo was clean, well equipped, and had plenty of space. When you stop for groceries make sure to pick-up detergent, paper towels etc. that you will need for your stay.

The owner Tammy was quick to respond to a couple of pre-arrival questions and was flexible with our dates/times which was very much appreciated. We would come back in a minute.

We mostly spent our time at the condo, but did take the trolley down to St. Johns Bay. Some fun shops and good ice cream. We wished we would have set-up a 1/2 day fishing trip through Hubbards, but now we know for next time. If you bring your poles the local guys are great at guiding your bait selection. There is also good fishing at the Clearwater Beach pier if the water is calm. Redington beach also has a pier, but it is very expensive to fish off of for the day. We had a rental car so we drove to both. Clearwater is about a 40 min drive.

The beauty and ease of beach access make this a wonderful vacation choice for families!

Calm and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

This is our first time to Maderia Beach and we were pleasantly surprised.

Th condo was fantastic, More room than we actually needed, PLENTY of towels and linens, there was even a wheeled cooler to take to the beach. Not to mention you cant beat the view and proximity to the water, I counted 62 steps from the condo to the water.

The beach and the calm waters were perfect for our 4 and 1 year old.. Even "High Tide" produced the smallest of waves. With a lack of large resorts the beaches were very relaxing with very few people..

We plan to come back every year! Might even buy a condo

All about the view!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this unit in Fall of 2015 and are returning for 2016. It is lovely and the fact that it is a corner unit makes the views amazing. You are right on the beach, no road or boardwalk to cross - and I like that the parking is underneath the building so there is no parking lot to look at as you are gazing out at the gulf. Speaking of parking - the space is tight, you might have trouble with a large vehicle, we were fine with a mid-size sedan.

It is a small building so the beach and pool are quiet, at least while we were there, but there is enough activity so that the guy renting the chairs and umbrellas is out and about. He gave us a great deal for the 4 days and had everything set up for us when we got down to the beach in the morning.

The condo is well appointed, beds were comfortable, bathrooms nice, kitchen well stocked, A/C and washer and dryer worked fine.

Location is nice - walkable to a few restaurants, Dunkin, etc and an easy hop in the car to lots of excellent restaurants and fun bars.

A few reviews mentioned road noise - yes there is, but we felt the condo, the view and the beach made up for it.

We do it as a girls trip, but is a perfect unit for a family as well.

Great location, stunning beach views, & dolphins

  • 4 of 5

Spent the long Thanksgiving weekend with my family of three along with my brother and his family of four. There was plenty of room for everyone. The condo had everything we needed.

The view from the balcony was awesome and we saw dolphins every morning! The beach was great! Great mixture of sugary white sand and shells. The condo is close enough to walk down to John's Pass along the beach (or the street). Lots of restaurants to choose from. The kids enjoyed the heated pool.

The owner was easy to work with.

Cons: all minor! No ceiling fans, but found box fans in the closets. Lots of street noise, but box fans help drown that out. Tight parking! Only one assigned parking spot, which is covered, but it is tight! Very limited parking for additional cars or visitors. Items like box fan and vents have lot of grimy dust (the whole place probably needs a good deep cleaning).

And the following is no fault of the owner, but the building was being painted while we were there. Painters left for the long weekend, but left all of their gear: large scaffolding took up most of the beach side patio and the ropes hung down from the roof in front of our balcony. Plus they left two work vehicles parked in the few unassigned spaces. The renters below us were smokers! Yuck! When they were smoking on their balcony we could not enjoy our balcony.

Beach lover

Good location as far as ease to get to and plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and a mile from Johns Pass. beautiful views and beach, lots of room and bed space. However, I would not stay here again. The Windows and sliding doors in the unit are so badly sealed that it sounds like the Windows are open. You can here every single car, siren, horn, or words people are saying outside. We saw ants in the kitchen during our 3 night stay as well. Also it was somewhat alarming upon first entering the unit, it appeared someone at one time had tried breaking in possibly. There had been a hole drilled by the doorknob and by the deadbolt it looked as though it had been jammed open several times, the door frame is damaged. Across the street are two condemned buildings, I definitely slept light.

rainy but relaxing

  • 4 of 5

We had a relaxing extended weekend after a few days in Disney World at this lovely condo. The condo was warm and welcoming with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Each day dolphins swam right off the coastline, and we watched for the beautiful sunset every evening, however the clouds kept it hidden during our stay. Despite the overcast skies and light rain, we were able to walk right onto the beach. Everything we needed for fun on the beach was stored in the bin near our covered spot: beach chairs, mats, buckets, shovels, pool noodles and more! The pool was warm and we spent hours soaking and swimming each day we were there!

The condo was roomy and met our families needs perfectly. We bought a few groceries and ate breakfast and lunch everyday at the condo, with everything we needed to prepare our meals. There was a new washer and dryer that worked great! (Which was a relief after reading the previous reviews about the old slow filling washer.) There were plenty of towels, and while we bought a few supplies such as laundry detergent, coffee, and paper towels, we had everything we needed for our short stay. While the section of beach was quiet, the area in which the condo is located has plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, ice cream shops, etc for fast access to food and things. We recommend Dockside Dave's and Candy Kitchen! Both fun local places. :)

If we have the opportunity for another beach vacation in the Tampa area, we would definitely check into this condo again! Thanks so much for everything!
