This house has been in my family since 1985. My parents bought it when myself, and then later, my two brothers attended the U of M. After we all graduated, my parents were ready to sell. My husband and I could not bear to lose this house so we purchased it.

We love Missoula and this beautiful craftsman house. It is our home away from home. Since we are not in Missoula year round we decided to make it a vacation rental so we can afford to keep it and share it with others.
The location is perfect. We park our cars when we arrive and don't need to use them again until we leave town.
We are two middle aged couples that meet a week every year in Montana for a fly fishing trip. This house was perfect for our needs; a porch to relax on after a long day on the river, ample space in the bedrooms and living area. The location was perfect to go for walks around the historic district, to Caras Park, or to downtown for dinner. Each and every day I made a comment about finding the perfect place and looking forward to booking each year thereafter. A neighbor even came over to ask where we found the property and gave info to her for her parents visit to Missoula. Upon leaving I left a nice note in the guest book, we cleaned out the entire place, washed all dishes, cleaned all countertops, hung up towels, and even made up the beds. We kept saying, "this place has been the best and they have the easiest checkout we've ever had. No laundry to do." Everything was great until we received notice that not only our cleaning fee that we paid was used but also a $40 deduction from a damage deposit. We were told the cleaning company reported that it was the worst they have ever seen. They stated that there was a patio chair in the alley and that the toilet looked like it had plugged, overflowed, black stuff on the floors and never cleaned up. We couldn't believe what we were reading. When we left it looked very good and we checked through each and every room. We never took anything out to the alley but the garbage when throwing it away. We did forget a patio chair on the porch on oversight on our last night there while enjoying the neighborhood. I used to clean homes for a living and would NEVER think about treating anyone else's home with disrespect; nor would I let any other guests treat it that way. The $40 is not a lot of money and if there was indeed something damaged I would expect it would be deducted from a damage deposit. We disputed the claim to no avail. I would think a cleaning fee is for cleaning and damage deposit for damage done. This was disheartening to basically be told that we were horrible tenants. My husband and I are very upset about this. Told we were messy people and liars; which we are not. In 7 vrbo's that we have rented; we have never had anything withheld from our deposit. The most disheartening thing....we loved the place, the location and planned on trying to get it again in 2017. In the future, we will always take photos of each room just before departure. A learning lesson for all.
We were visiting Missoula for the final 4 days of our 2 week marathon vacation through Montana. This was the best place we stayed out of our five stops. The house was clean, in good shape, nice 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds, kitchen was well stocked (even with French Press for good coffee), solid wi-fi, and good laundry units. One of our favorite daily activities was to sit on the front porch and relax and watch the people come and go. There was a fair amount of traffic, both vehicles and pedestrians but we enjoyed the feel of a very active neighborhood. We loved being so close to good pizza, the Roxy Theater (we saw the new Star Trek movie), Rockin Rudys, down town, and especially the hike and bike trail by the river which takes you directly to the base of the "M" for a good early morning hike! I would definitely recommend this house for a good Missoula experience!
Our family had s wonderful stay! Property is centrally located and we walked to downtown and to UM. Has everything you need for a carefree vacation. Nicely furnished, comfy beds, lots of space. Look forward to our next trip to Missoula so we can stay again!
This house has the perfect location. Our car never left its parking spot. The house was comfortable and clean and cool despite temperatures in the 90's. It has all the amenities needed. Clear instructions on getting in and expectations. No complaints.
My husband and I lived in Missoula when we were in grad school. We decided to revisit, and searched for houses in our old neighborhood so we could relive our glory days. Lucky for us, no concessions had to be made when we picked this property. The house was spotless, the convenience of a washer/dryer allowed us to carry-on rather than check bags, the kitchen was great, the neighbors were friendly, beds were comfortable, patio was great, and everything was... well, perfect. When we come back, we'll definitely stay here.
The description of this home is accurate, it is a well maintained and clean property, communication with the owner was excellent and easy. I would definitely recommend this property to friends/family.
We came to Missoula for the Missoula Marathon and this home was the PERFECT fit for our needs. Located only blocks from the race start/expo and other events as well as conveniently located to a variety of restaurants. The front porch was the perfect spot to watch the race participants as they neared the finish. The home itself is well equipped with new linens, lots of hot water, nice TV in the living room and fully set up kitchen. We even made good use of the BBQ in the backyard.
