"great house! great location! so nice to have a kitchen and areas to hang out! Thanks, Mary Smith *Loved Pizza Research Institute!"
We stayed in this home, just my husband and me, as we enjoyed some of the action at the Olympic trials. It was just as advertised, very easy walking distance to many good places to eat and easy driving distance to major activity centers. I can't think of anything we needed through the weekend that we didn't find in the house. Sometimes we ate in and sometimes we ate out and either way we were perfectly accommodated. We would gladly stay again if we find ourselves back in Eugene on a quick trip without our travel trailer.
Carolyn has seen to every detail and every need a guest could need. Every room is creatively decorated and the kitchen has everything we need to prepare meals. The private master bedroom and bath downstairs is wonderful for us.We have stayed here several times and it is now our go-to house when we are in Eugene.
We had an absolutely lovely stay at Carolyn Wells' Madison House in Eugene, OR last month, May 2016. It is just blocks to many of our favorite restaurants and haunts in Eugene. We could walk to most places we wanted to see.
The house is a cozy, artfully decorated older home in Eugene. There was a large dining room, large kitchen, and 3 large bedrooms and 2 baths.
We had a family gathering with 3 adult families, and we were most comfortable staying there.
When we visit Eugene again, we know where we will like to stay!
This was our second visit to this cottage, and so this is my second review. Again, we were very pleased with our stay in Carolyn's little Eugene charmer. It is clean, cute, and decorated with my favorite style of "bohemian simplicity" that makes it so comfortable and homey. Carolyn has gone to great lengths to make sure that everything you need is available - whether it is Keurig coffee pods, spices, and ziplock bags and tin foil, or robes, slippers, and disposable razors in the bathrooms. If you need it, it's there! Games, books, DVD's - they're there. Each bedroom has an air conditioner which is so nice on muggy days. The outside garden area is a lovely little fairy garden in the midst of the city - so pleasant to sit outside and have coffee in the morning, surrounded by flowers and trees. I love this VRBO and we will keep coming back when it's available and we are in Eugene - it's affordable, centrally located, and a perfect home-away-from-home.
Carolyn's home was just perfect for a mix of adults and teenagers. We were in Eugene for the Oregon Middle School Meet of Champs track meet and the Pre Classic. The layout was ideal for all of us. The adults using the front bedrooms and bath with the teenagers using the back of the home with their own "lounge", bathroom, and bedroom. We could shut the door of the kitchen and enjoy adult time in the front living room. We had a wonderful stay and it was so great to be 5 minutes from Hayward field.
This house was so ideal for our family's visit to Eugene last weekend (5 adults). It was cute, clean, well-stocked with everything we needed, and very conveniently located for all the places we wanted to visit in Eugene. We're so happy we found it; it was perfect!
