Overview

West Eugene House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This quaint and charming home is centrally located ,in the heart of downtown Eugene, Oregon. It is only a brisk walk from the eclectic Whitaker / Blair Boulevard neighborhood with its many ethnic restaurants and grocers, gourmet dining establishments and great music venues. One of Eugene's best bakeries is only a few steps away! Deliscious! The Pizza Research Institute and Papa's Soul Food Kitchen are extraordinary and Sam Bond's Garage is a popular music venue for local, and not so local, artists. Just down the way a bit is the Hult Center where touring companies bring theatre and music to Eugene and where the notable Eugene Symphony, the Mozart Players and the Bach Festival perform to the delight of local and international audiences. For a change of pace , take public transportation, or drive, the short distance to Matthew Knight Arena, Autzen Stadium, Hayward Field or PK Park where top notch athletic competitions never fail to thrill and inspire.

Setting: The Madison Guest House greets the visitor with an inviting country garden displaying a variety of seasonal flowers and shrubs that soften the urban landscape and lend a tranquil air to the cottage. Tucked behind a cedar enclosure you will find a quiet oasis with space for relaxing, reading or meditating as well as for casual dining...

Beer: Micro brews are another part of the culture and economy of the area that has seen steady growth in popularity. Home brewing is also well supported in the region and worth investigating. Several establishments in Eugene specialize in local brews and offer tastings periodically.. Some of these are within walking distance of this property..

Throughout Oregon wine has become a prominent part of the culture as well as the economy. Within Eugene and the Willamette Valley are some of the best wines produced domestically. Wine tasting tours , barrel tours, are offered at various times during the season. Tasting rooms are located throughout Eugene and are easily accessible by foot, pedal, bus or car.Micro brews are another part of the culture and economy of the area that has seen steady growth in popularity. Had everything we needed and more

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed at a number of properties, and this is probably the best yet in terms of provisions. Coffee, spices, full set of kitchen appliances, toiletries. Makes it truly feel like a home away from home. Nice restaurants and stores close by. Recommend checking the cabinets when you get in so you'll know how much is available. Unfortunately, it had a strong smell of tobacco smoke that bothered two people in our group quite a bit. I give 5 stars anyway because the owner really can't help it if renters disregard the rules. Would definitely stay again if we need 3+ BR

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the generous review. The previous guest abused me and you and I apologize again for that anoyance. I worked on the issue for 4 additional days..cleaned the rugs and floors, walls and wall coverings , washed linens and slip covers. I'm hopeful that it has dissipated enough to be unnoticeable. Vinegar is my best friend! I'm pooped!! I'm looking for a vacation rental myself, lol 😨

Cozy, homey base camp for exploring Eugene!!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is an absolute gem with everything you could possibly need provided...clean, with comfy beds and rooms to find privacy if wanted or large enough for a fun family reunion. The statement of my 3 week stay was that everything was "5 minutes away" and that was pretty accurate, whether it be a shopping mall, civic center, theaters, grocery stores, great food and drink.

The owner has created a place that feels like home the minute you enter...we cooked, enjoyed wine and champagne outside in the back garden patio, tended to our laundry...and basically enjoyed Eugene and the coast from our little piece of paradise. Look forward to coming back again and certainly recommend to anyone who wants a homey rather than confined hotel atmosphere. Thanks for creating a wonderful place for an "escapee" from Los Angeles.

Great in every way.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this home, just my husband and me, as we enjoyed some of the action at the Olympic trials. It was just as advertised, very easy walking distance to many good places to eat and easy driving distance to major activity centers. I can't think of anything we needed through the weekend that we didn't find in the house. Sometimes we ate in and sometimes we ate out and either way we were perfectly accommodated. We would gladly stay again if we find ourselves back in Eugene on a quick trip without our travel trailer.

Every room is creatively decorated and the kitchen has everything we need to prepare meals. The private master bedroom and bath downstairs is wonderful for us.We have stayed here several times and it is now our go-to house when we are in Eugene.
