Do not rent in the summer - one A/C unit & steps!

I rented this townhouse for a girls weekend to celebrate my sister's 30th birthday in July with temps in the 90s. I didn't think it would be an issue as the house was listed as having A/C. I was surprised there were multiple sets of steps as the townhouse is located in a lower section of the community (my sister whose birthday we were celebrating was pregnant and my mom has bad knees). As you can imagine, we were looking forward to getting into the A/C and cooling down after unloading the cars. Once we were inside, I was shocked to find out the "A/C" was actually ONE portable AC unit located on the 3rd floor loft (not an AC system) and there was only ONE fan in a closet that didn't oscillate.

The house was hot and uncomfortable, despite going out and purchasing 5 additional fans, the guests I invited were contemplating going to a local motel, I was incredibly embarrassed. I contacted Lori and let her know about our concerns but didn't hear back until after we had checked out (3 days later). I expressed all of my frustrations (AC, steps, broken shower in 1 out of 2 bathrooms, non-working DVD player) and received a response about how it was unfortunate we vacationed during one of the hottest months of the summer, that guests usually don't bring a "tremendous" amount of luggage for a weekend stay and her simple acknowledgment of the inconvenience. I wrote back and was quick to point out we had "tremendous" luggage because of it being a birthday celebration and wanting to make it special with decorations/special groceries, camping chairs as the deck only had 2 chairs with 7 people and also the unexpected need to purchase fans for the house and carry those up and down the steps. I asked for a partial refund as the listing for the property was misleading, I do not think a house with one barely working A/C unit in the 3rd floor should be able to list itself as having "A/C." I never heard back and simply received a notification my security deposit was refunded.

I always organize trips for family and friends and use VRBO on a regular basis. I've never experienced any issues like this with a renter before and I would never rent this house again. Also, something small but the Village at Camelback had a warning sign about their "healthy population" of the Timber rattle-snake. Not a big deal but for someone with a snake phobia like me, going up and down all the steps/walkways to the house each time we went out gave me a ton of anxiety.

clean, great location, spacious

My family and I stayed in this lovely home this labor day weekend. From the photos I expected it to be smaller but when I got there it was not as small as I was imagining. Everything was clean and plenty of space for my family and dogs. We took an inflatable full sized mattress with us and put it in the living room because all the kids wanted to sleep there since the house had a small skylight and they can see the stars during bed time. The kitchen was well equipped. The only thing that we found to be a bit of a problem was the tv, but we weren't on vacation to watch much TV so it was no big deal. It would have also been great if there was a grill but we just went to Big Pocono park and had a BBQ there instead, so it all worked out great. Since it is a community, it is very safe because you need to have an access code or to check in with the security to get inside, so I felt safe. The house is attached to another house but that was not a problem for us because no one was staying in the house next door, quiet community. The pool was great, the life guard on duty wasn't so great since my nephew almost drowned and he did not do anything except sit there and watch but that is another problem. I am very glad we choose to stay in this location. It was a great vacation. I recommend this home and would definitely stay here again if need be.

Beautiful and Tranquil Home

My family and I enjoyed every night we spent in Lori's home. The home was very inviting with plenty of space for everyone...lots of extra towels and some little essentials we tend to forget (salt, pepper).

The home owner was very helpful from the time of booking through my check in day. This was my first time renting with her but it definitely won't be my last.

A place you can call home

It was very nice the bedrooms were cozy and warm. The shower water was hot and cold , the TV were outdated but that wasn't a problem it was nice. I really liked the balcony.

Great Time

This condo was cozy. 5 total beds (1 queen) was perfect for our guests. loft has queen bed and basement has 2 rooms with 2 beds in each. The balcony was VERY icy at the time we were there. We had some smokers so that's why we were back there. Technology was out of date. But that wasn't a concern for us because we were only home in the evenings.

It was a very smooth process to get the key and access to the condo. I thought the condo was a little closer to mountain then it was but it wasn't bad at all. we just loaded up the pick up truck and drove 150 yards to the nearest trail. This condo is still closer to the trails then most other condos.

We were refunded the deposit with in 3 days after leaving. I would like to try a condo that is right on the ski trial, but if I couldn't book something that close I would get this condo again! thanks Lori for always answering my questions quickly! :)
