We just returned from Utah and loved our stay in the Farmhouse at Cottonwood Meadow Lodge. We are a family group of 6 (2 couples along with 2 young adult sisters) and with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms this was the perfect accommodation for us. Cottonwood Meadow Lodge is convenient for Bryce and Zion National Parks and is right off highway 89 but it is also beautiful and tranquil. The Farmhouse is their largest rental but they also have other smaller rental units available through their website and you can book online via their website. The farmhouse is spacious, very well equipped and so beautiful and charming. The kitchen is amazing with high end appliances and has everything you need to cook a meal. All the rooms are decorated to a high standard and even the linens are high end. Jan and Jerry were perfect hosts and Jan brought us tasty treats (one day she brought us blondies, another time we had home made ice cream sandwiches). After long days hiking in the parks we loved sitting on the deck, hanging out with Jesse the friendly ranch dog, wandering about the beautiful ranch, petting the horses and seeing the amazing hummingbirds. We also loved heading off too collect fresh eggs from the chicken coop in the morning. Overall a perfect stay and we would love to return!
We took a family vacation down to Bryce Canyon this summer and stayed at the Farmhouse, which was an amazing experience. The property is an absolutely beautiful and quiet place to stay, about 10-15 minutes from Bryce Canyon. When we arrived we were amazed by the property which was extremely spacious for 8 people. The bedrooms are a good size and beds were very comfortable after a long day at Bryce. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs, one of the upstairs bedrooms has two queen beds and the other bedrooms have one queen bed; the bedroom downstairs is really convenient for older individuals or couples with a baby. The kitchen has everything you need to stay for a couple days (pots, pans, full size fridge, microwave, coffee maker and chef's stove with oven). We went to Ruby's general store for groceries, which is about 10 minutes away.
The caretakers dog, Jessy was delightful! She is well trained and great with kids and she would come to the porch and greet us every morning. We also enjoyed the beautiful and friendly horses, they are very tamed and love people. We also loved having the fresh eggs in the morning they were delicious. Jan and Jerry (the caretakers) are extremely friendly and welcoming, we loved meeting them! We also loved the delicious cookies and blueberry muffins Jan made us, they are to die for! (I would love the recipes Jan!)
We visited in June and the weather was amazing, the mornings and evenings were a bit chilli, but it was the perfect weather to use the fire pit to roast marshmallows and make s'mores at night. You will not be disappointed by the Farmhouse or any of the other rentals they have on the property. We can't wait to go back!
This lodge/ranch is amazing! They actually have a few rentals on this property. Check out their main site to see the rest. My wife and I stayed in the 'Barn'. From the moment we arrived the peacefulness was overwhelming. Your shoulders just melt all that tension away. If you still are a bit stressed, just hang out with Jesse, the always happy ranch dog. You will feel fine in seconds. It is so quiet and very nicely located to just about anything you want to do in Southern Utah. You can use it like a hub and go in all directions to explore. The property alone is huge! Grab your cup of coffee and go for a stroll.
The amenities are fantastic. Clean, comfortable home. All linens, towels, reading material, satellite TV, etc. Fully workable kitchen as well. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes etc. Plenty of appliances too! Microwave, coffee maker with grinder! Even fresh eggs! Literally! There are chickens, cats, horses, and a dog free-ranged on the property. The hutch is in the middle of the property and clean. Just pop in and grab what you need. Time can be lost just by watching the animals go about their business during the day. The chickens in search for little morsels in the grass. The cats running round all poofy, sometimes even wrestling together. Our first morning I woke up and found the ranch dog waiting on our porch to be petted. When you return from exploring he greets you home. If you have any allergies, Jerry and his lovely wife Jan understand, and you will not be bothered by animals. We love animals but found out they are not allowed within the rental just for that reason. I thought this was super thoughtful! Don't we all have that 'aunt' who's allergic to nature in general?
The caretakers cap this location to perfection. They actually live on the property, so if you need anything you just knock. But if you don't need any assistance, you will not be bothered. No hovering etc. They go about their lives like you're a roommate. If you wake up early enough, tagging along with Jerry to feed the horses is fun. Jan makes the most fantastic cookies! One bite, and you're hooked!
This surprise birthday present was perfect because of this home. We loved staying here. Thank you so much Jerry & Jan.
