About Grand Beach Resort #404 in Gulf Shores, Alabama

Grand Beach 404 is owned by an Alabama family. The condo is a family home that we hope will provide special memories for you, your family, and friends. Our family loves to travel and Gulf Shores is one of our favorite beaches in the country. We feel that Gulf Shores offers all the best a beach can offer, but without the large crowds, huge high rises, and high costs. Gulf Shores still has that feel of a small beach community. And Grand Beach Resort is surrounded by natural beauty. It is truly our family's small slice of paradise. We hope it is for you on your vacation. Your visit and experience are important to us. We know how important family vacations are or even just a short getaway with a spouse or friends. Our family wants Grand Beach Resort to be a special vacation place for you to enjoy year after year. Come and make memories with us at one of the most beautiful beaches in America.

Why Grand Beach Resort #404 in Gulf Shores, Alabama chose Alabama Gulf Coast

We love the location of Grand Beach Resort. No other property in Gulf Shores offers such a vast view of the Gulf of Mexico on the front and views of Lake Shelby from the back. The proximity to the beach, attractions, activities, and restaurants makes this property a must see. The beach is one of the largest beach areas along the Gulf of Mexico. The state park allows unspoiled views of sand dunes and plenty of open beach areas to enjoy the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico. The access to the beach, family activities, and sporting activities is unparalleled to any other beach location. You can also be at any of the area's popular restaurants and shopping in minutes. The location is absolutely perfect.

What makes this condo unique

Interiors by the Coastal Living Magazine art director make the condo comfortable and contemporary. Enjoy views of the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Shelby in the Gulf Shores State Park. The large beach area and access to the state park make this a unique location with access to one of the best beaches in the country. Just past the State Park Pier there is a large area of just beach, water, and sand dunes. You start to feel that you are on a deserted island enjoying the views all by yourself. You can't find that experience in many coastal locations.

Enjoyed our first trip to the beach

  • 3 of 5

Overall the condo was okay. They need to do some updating as the carpet in the master is filthy. The TV's in the bedrooms are tiny. The fold out bed in the living room was awful! I scratched my leg trying to drag myself off of it. Also the pool was NOT heated. We went during Spring Break and chose a location with a heated pool because we expected it to be cooler weather. The upstairs bedroom has a creepy closet that opens to the attic of the whole place. It was extremely difficult to get in touch with the owner. The week leading up to our stay I had to contact him because I had not heard from him for our pass code or parking pass. He got me the info quickly and mailed the parking pass that day, however, I did not and still have not received the parking pass. The day before (actually 9 hours before we were to leave for our drive) he gave me an address where we could pick up alternate parking passes. He said he would refund the parking pass fee for my trouble. Warning the road you have to cross is a BUSY 4 lane highway. I didn't have a problem during my stay but when I was trying to contact him for our passes I emailed through VRBO and yahoo. And I called both numbers with no luck. Finally the day before we were to leave, he said he was out of town and had bad service.

On a good note, this condo is in a good location in regards to the beach. It is a little walk but we didn't mind. The beach is amazing. It's just a few blocks from everything. It's on the 4th floor which is just right to sit on the balcony and enjoy the breeze and view. Security is on site.

Owner's Response: Jessica, thanks for your response. It is always good to hear from our guests. So glad you finally made it to the beach! It is never too late to visit the beach! The attic space was inadvertently left open by a family friend. It is dedicated for us to use as owner storage. We were unaware of it being open until you checked out of the unit. The carpet was scheduled to be cleaned before your arrival, but were unable to do so. You were our first guest after our snowbird checked-out. We apologize. We confirmed with the reason for the delayed response and worked hard to be responsive to you. You contacted us at 10:28 a.m. We contacted you back at 8:57 p.m. the same day. We were traveling that day and on airplanes and unable to respond as quickly as we would have liked. We are also unable to guarantee the US Postal Service delivering the parking passes. There are times they get lost in the mail. We were glad we were able to provide you with another arrangement to secure the pass for your stay since it didn't arrive in advance of your departure for Gulf Shores. Your reservation was for two adults and three children. We were unaware you were exceeding that amount and would need to rely on the sofa bed. We would have provided additional items for the sofa bed to make it more comfortable had we had the correct number of adult guests in the unit. The sofa bed is only used by guests that exceed the bedding provided. You will notice our rating on responses is always a top rating. We always strive to be responsive and accessible for our guests. We value the importance of our guests’ visit to Gulf Shores and want it to be the best, especially first-time beach guests like you! We do apologize again for the response time, but so glad you found the location and the view of the beach to be enjoyable. It is ideal! Don't let this beac trip be your last. There are so many beautiful beaches to see and enjoy. We hope you get a chance to enjoy many more of them beyond Gulf Shores.

Fantastic beach getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed in this condo and was extremely pleased with our visit. The location is great - easy to get in/out, convenient, and just far enough away from the tourist-heavy spots (like the Hangout) yet still be close by. You have a fantastic view of the beach and the Gulf State Park. The condo itself was clean, spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay here again!

Helped us fall in love with the area

  • 4 of 5

I have to the security for the place is on top of everything, had gone out with windows down and forgot to put the parking pass back up went back ten minutes later and and a note already on our vehicle. Had awesome views where ever we looked. Just about everywhere wanted to go wasn't to far away and if it was it helped us find new places. The unit had everything in the pictures and list, it was cleanish but, it needed a bit more. I lifted the mattresses for the bunk beds to make them and there was stuff underneath and the top bunk has a vent that had to be vacuumed. Overall it was a great stay and we how to be back some day

Owner's Response: We are so glad to hear you had a great time and were able to explore more of the area. Gulf Shores is a wonderful place. We also have a great group that manages the property. We are glad to hear they were helpful. We appreciate the feedback. We alerted our cleaning crew. This was our busiest summer season in 15 years. You all were the last stay of the summer season, so we can only assume the bunks were the result of back to back rentals. Again, thank you for your feedback! We love to hear when our guests fall in love with this special place!

Older building, thin walls, long walk to beach

  • 1 of 5

We were disappointed in this property. We we told in the rental agreement we could check in at 3pm. When we arrived at 3pm the cleaning woman had just got to our room. We had to wait 45 more minutes to go in due to waiting on her. We drove over 12 hours to get there. Once we got in the room some of the fitted sheets were not on the beds just the comforters pulled up and pillows did not have cases on them. This is an older property and walls are very thin we could hear everyone around us, even the next door neighbor snoring. The pool was ok nothing special. I you have small children. It is a hike to the beach. They do not have any wooden walk ways, it's to much of a walk for kids, and wagons just sink in the sand.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We regret your stay did not meet your expectations. Your stay seems to be the exception. We share in our communication with our guests we know the importance of vacations with family and friends. We know many of our guests travel a long way to reach Gulf Shores, so we want them to have the best experience possible. This is the first time our unit was not cleaned and ready for a guest’s arrival. We promptly contacted the cleaning staff upon notification of the problem. They immediately came to the unit to clean it. We refunded your parking pass as an apology for the 45-minute delay to your arrival and hoped we were making a good faith effort to ensure you a pleasant stay. We are also very transparent about our property and our unit on the website and in our communications with our guests. The website has many pictures of the property, including the pool and the walk to the beach. Again, we regret your stay did not meet your expectations. We typically hear about what a great time our guests had and want that for each guest.
