Overview

About the property

Beautiful 2 Bedroom Home

My wine country home is nestled in a quiet, park-like setting, between Sonoma and Glen Ellen, a short drive from the Bay Area with immediate access to everything in the Sonoma Valley.

This is a corner home (approximately 1,100 sq. ft) with two bedrooms (queen sized beds in each), one bath and a private garage. The house comfortably sleeps 4 - 6 people.

The large backyard and deck has a gas barbecue and is perfect for entertaining, or just relaxing with a morning cup of coffee or afternoon glass of wine.

You will find top to bottom, all new furnishings. You will find cozy beds, down comforters, 100% cotton sheets, plush towels, new appliances, couches, tables, etc. TV w/deluxe cable, Wi-Fi, washer dryer... all of the comforts of home and so much more than a hotel room.

This home shares the large deck and grassy backyard with another home, also listed on Homeaway/VRBO. Depending on your needs, you can rent one or both homes. Renting both homes is perfect for larger groups traveling for a wedding, conference, retreat or multiple families just getting away together. If interested, please inquire about the discounted pricing when renting both homes.

Experience the best of all possible vacation worlds where you can enjoy total privacy in a spacious, remodeled, country home. Find yourself at home in the heart of Sonoma Valley with wineries, fine food, art, music, theatre, spas, shops, state parks, Jack London’s home, Infineon (Sears Point) Raceway, golf courses, horseback riding, balloon flights, biking and hiking all within minutes of your doorstep. Indulge yourself with a tour of Sonoma’s world-famous wineries; luxurious spa treatments; tour the countryside on bicycles; taste the flavors of Sonoma’s award-winning restaurants; explore historic sites in Sonoma County. Best of all, meet the friendly faces of the local community...at the open markets, at the festivals, at the museums and in the boutiques. You’re just 5 minutes from historic Glen Ellen, 15 minutes from downtown Sonoma, less than an hour from the beautiful coastline of Northern California, and, only 45 miles north of San Francisco.

Just bring your suitcase for a memorable getaway in the beautiful Sonoma Valley.

Economical BUT less than great stay

  • 2 of 5

Mind you, we are HomeAway owners ourselves in MA, so this review is hard to write.

My retired mom and I chose this property because we didn't want to pay for high glitz and wanted something more basic to enjoy Wine Country.

Glen Ellen was a great place to be our home base. I booked months ago and paid in full for 6 nights with a heavy security deposit.

We didn't expect to stay at a house with so many empty cabinets, or minimal supplies (no sugar or coffee filters were provided). It gave me pause that I had to pay a heavy security deposit because the property didn't even have basic amenities.

Things were clean, rugs vacuumed but the beds had cheap 100% polyester sheets.

At the property, I could only access the wifi late at night or early morning. Other times? nothing loaded, not even basic sites. It seemed Wifi access was shared with the apartment next door because we could not use it at the same time.

I texted Carolyn, the property manager, the day before our arrival requesting more information. She informed me she would send the information the day of our arrival - a day late in my opinion. The information she provided was completely different from her email booking confirmation.

I did not get my heavy deposit back until 5 days (not 48hrs!) after checking out - only because I wrote Carolyn an email reminding her about it.

Great location but poorly managed property with weak customer service and minimal amenities.

Buyer beware.

Great location

  • 4 of 5

The house is located in a great location, just a few minutes drive from downtown Sonoma and many vineyards for wine tasting. The backyard and deck are really nice. The house was clean and very basic. It is exactly as pictured. It's great for a small family. The neighborhood was quiet. The owner left a binder which had a lot of information in it about nearby places to eat, vineyards, etc. which was very helpful.

Clean and comfortable

  • 1 of 5

House was clean and comfortable. Would have preferred ceiling fans rather than stand up fans.

Nice House

  • 4 of 5

Great stay. Easy to get into the house and get settled. House was spacious clean and as described. The binder of information about the house and surrounding areas was very helpful. I didn't realize that we would be sharing a porch with the other half of the house but it was not a big deal at all. they had a nice cat that would come visit. Finally I have not received my security deposit back yet but it has only been a few days since we checked out.

Owner's Response: Janet checked out on Sunday 10/12. Her security deposit was returned on 10/14, one business day after she checked out. As you can see, she wrote the review on 10/13, less than 24 hours after she left the property. Great guest, but her comment about not getting her security deposit back is baffling to me.
