This privately owned apartment is on the west coast of Puerto Rico in the quite town of Aguada. Come visit the small beach town of Aguada, and enjoy relaxing on our beachfront yard overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. There is plenty of area for sunbathing on the beach or on our grassy beachside yard. Watch spectacular sunsets, enjoy world-class surf spots, fishing, or take a walk down the beach or to the small local restaurants. Discover or experience the Puerto Rican culture, and the beauty of “La Isla del Encanto”.
The apartment enjoys cool tropical breezes all year around with all rooms facing the ocean. The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical colors and has comfortable style furniture. The building has a small number of apartments, mostly second homeowners, very quite area with direct access to the beach, and access controlled private parking space.
The small town of Aguada is known for great and not crowded surf. There are plenty of surf spots on the stretch of beach where the apartment is located. Two of the main reef breaks are right in front of the building. We are also only 10-15 minutes drive to the nearby surf towns of Rincón, Aguadilla and Isabela.
Aguada is located on the west coast of Puerto Rico; just 25 minutes drive from the Rafael Hernández International Airport in the town of Aguadilla and 2 hours from the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.
We are looking for quite people looking to relax and enjoy our wonderful beach retreat.
Overall, this property is outstanding. Affordable, right on the beach, convenient access to Rincon, quiet and secure, very well taken care of and clean.
A few highlights.
Being in Aguada, the location gives a pleasant perspective on Puerto Rican folks and their lifestyle.
The property is just a few steps from the beach. During our holiday stay, there were evenings when ocean sounds would drown out my wife's endless repeats of "Mele Kalikimaka"... Maybe not a bad thing.
The ocean breeze keeps the property comfortable all hours of the day. Temp highs ranged between 87 and 92 during our December stay, we were acclimated and comfortable in just a day coming from a cold mountain climate.
This was a beautiful condo on the second floor at the waters edge. Very nice size for us. It gave us enough room without feeling cramped. We had the doors open the entire time to allow a nice sea breeze and enjoy the water view. The kitchen is a one person kitchen, but it had what we needed to prepare meals. Plenty of VERY hot water. The complex makes you feel very secure and the neighbors are quiet, friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the location because it was centrally located to everything. Close groceries, bakeries, restaurants, road side eateries and other beaches. The water was crystal clear unless the wind blew the river run-off our way. This is not a swimming beach unless you have water shoes, due to the sea urchins (lots), but great for beach combing and boogie boarding. At night during a full moon I would stand at the windows and admire the view. It was truly stunning!
Yanaris was super easy to deal with and her place is gorgeous. We enjoyed our stay more than words can say. Truly a 'home away from home' experience..fell completely in love with the area and the condo. Can't wait to visit Puerto Rico again... whenever we go, we will rent this place.
After doing the major tourists attractions in Old San Juan I still had not felt as if I were on vacation with its high paced city feel. My travel companions checked into this peaceful Aguada beach retreat and had the epic trip we had hoped for. We started out our day walking out the door onto the beach for a surf and then walked around the being entertained by the people of Aguada and the friendly atmosphere of their local community. There was a vast selection of beaches along the entire coast with many close surf breaks including gas chambers and tres palmas.
The location of this beach retreat was convenient as a staging point for exploring the lighthouses and cliffs and was nice for the lazy days of laying out on the beach. At night it was peaceful enough to feel comfortable leaving the door open while sitting out on the balcony listening to the soothing sounds of the waves and the coqui frogs in the faint distance but still had options of nightlife close by.
Finding this place was an absolute gem.
-My wife and I have stayed here three times, and will be making it a fourth in late October this year. We live in San Diego, but my wife is from Puerto Rico...and try to get back to visit her family when we get the chance, and we'll grab her parents and make a trek to the West side of the island.
-The town of Aguada is charming and has maintained its small town, family oriented vibe. The town radiates out from a beautiful Catholic Church at the center of town, and the stores, shops, panaderias, and small restaraunts ring out from there. I dont think its changed much over the last few decades, and that is exactly why I enjoy the town. Best home made ice cream ive ever had is a block from the Church on the main street.
-As you leave the center of town, you enter the residential areas and emerge onto the coastal front road. Ponga boats line the beach, and its more of a rural feel than big city vibe. More small-town feel, friendly locals, and you can relax immediately.
-The road continues along the coast, and you come right to the beach front rental. When I say beach front...i mean beach front! Right on the sand, with a small strip of grass seperating the sand from the rental. There is a table for outside breakfast/lunch/dinner. There is a a small resident only parking lot at the complex, with a resi only access gate for privacy/security.
-When you open the door to the rental, you are welcomed with large tiled floor, soft vibrant Puerto Rican colored walls, and the sound of the waves. Very refreshing. The rental has 2 bedrooms, one of them has a queen or king size bed, the other room has two twin size beds. There is 1 bathroom, and a nice open living room with a couch and enough room on the floor for more guests if thats needed. There is a washer/dryer and kitchen with full stove, microwave, and full size fridge. Also a nice balcony
-Activities: My wife and I both like to surf, and you can surf the reef break right in front of the condo! Watch out for the spikey urchins on the reef...so if you fall of your board, just keep your feet up! But a great little break. We tend to head out of town, prolly 20 mins south to Rincon breaks. Or 20 mins north into Aguada where there are multiple AMAZING breaks! The in-laws become beach bums, or like to go to town during the day and enjoy the locals. My wife runs in the mornings w/o being heckled. Fishing is amazing too!
-JetBlue flies into Aguadilla. VERY conveniant.
