About Lisa Hofstead
And Hello! I was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. I am an empty-nester with a beautiful big home I have been renting for over 6 years now and booked over 300 guest stays and counting. I take great pride in providing a hotel standards home for your stay. When off duty, I have a horse and enjoy being outdoors most of the time.
Lisa Hofstead purchased this House in 2002
Why Lisa Hofstead chose Valley
Location, location, location. It is less then 20 minutes to all venues in and around Central New York Downtown armory square or Jamesville 1/2 iron man, or Skaneateles lake, State fair grounds, On Center, SU, all are very fast and easy to get to.
What makes this House unique
This neighborhood is quiet, friendly and very safe. Syracuse Chief of police is my neighbor with firemen and other's that work for City. I live on premises in private apartment available for you 24/7

Owner is great, cozy home, quiet neighborhood
Perfect. We stayed 3 days. Owner was very nice, responsive to any questions or needs.
Worked well for our group
Visited town for a bowling tournament. House was as described. 5 beds (1 a futon in living room), 2 toilets, 1 shower/bath. Kitchen had everything needed for basic meal prep (microwave/stove/fridge/freezer). Keurig machine with small assortment of k cups.
Host (Lisa) very fast to respond to questions. She lives on site I think. Does a good job of trying to provide a hotel like experience (bathroom had body wash, shampoo, etc).
Reason I gave 4/5 rating: though the property works well there are a few minor things we didn’t care for. First, the toilet only bathroom opens into the kitchen, so if someone stinks things up the smell spills over into the kitchen...giving u the choice of either smelling someone’s stink or one of the many sprays trying to cover it up while u are trying to prep food. Second...if u drive to the house from the north it feels like u have to go through a less than desirable part of town to get from the freeway to the house. And third, the cable lineup seemed to be basic cable for the area but did not include ESPN. With the WiFi access provided and the ESPN app I was able to watch on my mobile, but the TV in the living room would have been preferred.
Overall would recommend though, particularly because the host being so responsive takes care of a lot of possible issues with being in a new place with ease
Not as advertised. Hotel standards?
No keyless entry, no smoke detector, light switches and outlets covered with tape, no railing on basement stairs. Blinds in living room won't work, also in dining room. Knob missing from filthy range hood. No water pressure in shower. Hot water heater broke while my mother was taking a shower.had to rinse with Water heated on stove. Closets are full of owners belongings.
Futon broke while sitting on it. Asked the owner to fix things, my husband had to show her how to fix futon.
Owner had to be aware of the disrepair of her home. Ratty belt hanging from blinds (to hold them up?).
Owner never gave us key code till we we're there for over 2 weeks and her mad neighbor was banging on the door looking for her.
No dressers,no bed side tables. Dirty dishes in the drawers and cupboards. Box spring exposed metal.curtins or should I say pices of material? Hanging over windows.
Owner keep saying that she was there for us, but when disrepair was brought to her attention she said she would fix. But then didn't.
I don't feel I should have to ask every day for owner to fix or make safe her "hotel standards" rental. So we lived with out a smoke detector and a rental in disrepair. We cut our stay short by a day. We would have rented a hotel if we had known. But we paid in full.
I greeted you at the door the first day of a 21 day, (3) week booking. I was available 24/7 and immediately answered every call, text you wrote to make your stay a comfortable one.
Every day for (20) days we talked. You were kind enough to invite me for dinner (7) days, one week into your stay and we had a great evening.
At no time did you communicate that you were unhappy or dissatisfied.
Only after you moved out did you voice your issues wanting $1000.00 plus refund.
I did decline any refunds after you stayed 99% of the time and this seemed to upset you even more. I am sorry for you upset.
I take great pride in my ranch home and my customer service.
My only concern is that your stay is comfortable I am sorry you had such a difficult (20) days, 3 week stay.
Near Carrier Dome
This house turned out to be perferct for our girls' weekend as we attended a concert at the Carrier Dome. We each had our own Bedroom (3 of us) and Lisa couldn't have been more accommodating with snacks, drinks, and help with directions. Temps were close to 90 deg. while there so the AC made things very comfortable. Nice quiet neighborhood.
Our father is very ill, and we needed a place to stay while taking care of family matters. While we did not spend much time at the house. Lisa provided everything we needed, a comfortable place to sleep, a cozy living room/dining room where we could discuss things that needed done and even provided snacks and drinks for our use. Would definitely recommend this home if you are in the Syracuse area and need a place to stay.
I thank you for your review...The house is here when you all need it. Sincerely,
Lisa was very nice and available 24/7 with any questions!
