When visiting the William H. Buckley Farm, you will be staying in a newly renovated 19th century farmhouse. The property was originally an old dairy farm and has been recently converted by its new owners into Buckley Farm where they raise all-natural grass-fed beef, pork, chicken and eggs. Although centrally located - close to downtown Ballston Spa and Saratoga Springs -the Buckley Farmhouse is a unique one-of-a-kind lodging experience where visitors will be staying on a working farm and experiencing farm life at its fullest.
If you are visiting the area for a short time or for an extended stay and want to enjoy the peace and refreshment of country life, the Buckley Farmhouse provides a welcome respite, with lovely antique-appointed rooms to explore and relax in, views of the lake and our beautiful Belted Galloway cattle. Of course, if you would like a little more hands-on experience, you are welcome to tour the grounds and meet the animals.
The Buckley Farmhouse has been beautifully remodeled and offers 4 large uniquely styled bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. Upstairs, the master suite has a king size bed and a private bath, along with views of the Belties from the bay window. The second suite has a queen size bed and private bath. The other bedrooms each have a queen size bed and share a full bathroom located in the main hallway. All of the bedrooms have cable television and the house has WIFI access.
Downstairs there is a spacious living room with two fireplaces, a lovely parlor, a large dining room with seating for 10-12 and a remodeled eat--in kitchen. The gem of the house is the large back porch that looks out over our beautiful farm vistas and Ballston Lake. This house is an unforgettable memory waiting to happen!
The Buckley Farmhouse is owned by Mark and Elizabeth Sacco and their 3 children. Owning and running a farm was a dream come true for the Sacco family and you will likely see them working and playing on the property during your stay. Whether it's collecting eggs, working on the tractor or tending the on-site farm store, there is no shortage of farm activities; but the Sacco's will be happy to show you around and answer any of your questions about life on the farm.
Jeri purchased this farmhouse in 2012
The Buckley Farmhouse offers a farm-stay experience that no other house or inn can offer to you!
There are many things that make the Buckley Farmhouse a unique rental opportunity.---And, although our house is beautiful, the animals are what make us the happiest. Here on the property we have 4 dogs (Red, Maria, Hawk, Sparrow) who live with and protect our nearly 1600 chickens. We have friendly free-roaming sheep and roughly 300 head of cattle. And, if you walk a bit down towards the lake, you will also meet our Gloucestershire Old Spots (pigs). From your windows or in person, our animals and our farm will enchant you and make you yearn for the 'simpler life' all the time.
This house and the property it sits on are both amazing. We recently had a weekend wedding here, and rented out this particular house for my family. While it can be tricky picking accommodations for a family with different tastes and expectations, my entire family loved the house. There was plenty of room, and the house is tastefully decorated with all the kitchen tools you’ll need. We also loved the cute little brunch cafe right next door, and the farm property itself is expansive, and wonderful to take long walks around. On top of dealing with the property rentals, Jeri our contact there was extremely helpful and communicative with our rentals and wedding weekend. I highly recommend this house for a group of people who want a nice place to hang out together and chill.
We thoroughly enjoyed our month long stay at Buckley Farm! The house was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The cafe was just steps away and perfect for grabbing yummy coffee, eggs or a fantastic brunch! Jerri was super helpful and truly went above and beyond for us. We can't wait to return to the farm for another unforgettable stay!
This was such a stellar experience! Our group of 8 stayed in the Buckley House for 1 month, and it was magical. From the little lambs that visited us in our backyard, to the friendly staff at the butcher shop/cafe just 30 feet from our door, to the kid-friendly grounds, this place had it all. Even the farm dogs Maria and Hawk who "greeted" you when you drove in made the stay so homey. We had fresh eggs, milk and meats anytime we wanted. And don't get me started on the pancakes and BLT from the cafe!!! The hosts (Jeri the property manager and Mark the owner) were truly accommodating, and worked hard to fix our wifi issue. We felt so welcome. The comfortable, big house has been meticulously maintained, and we took advantage of the fire pit to make S'mores many a night. We did not want to leave, that's for sure! Thank you so much Jeri & Mark!
I travel for a living and this is a place I will remember VERY fondly for a long time! We saw tiny newborn lambs and little piglets less than 12 hours old for goodness' sake! A momma sheep and her 3 adorable babies grazed in our back yard almost every day. The farm is beautiful and peaceful and the people that work there are so kind and helpful. You could not ask for nicer hosts. I would HIGHLY recommend this beautiful farmhouse. I lived there for a month and hated to leave!
I cannot say enough good things about Wm. H. Buckley Farm. When visiting the "Barn" one day, I was greeted with a very warm welcome from Jeri and knew within seconds that this was where I wanted to hold a bridal shower event for someone very special in my life. It was amazing. With the sun shining through the big barn doors, it was the most beautiful location. The entire property is the perfect setting for any event/getaway. The warmth and professionalism I received from Jeri and the entire staff/owners during the planning process was beyond my expectations! Jeri was very down to earth. It seemed as though I had known her for years. Massive THANK YOU to her and the farm for helping make Saturday very memorable for the bride!!
What a fun and unique weekend we enjoyed at the farmhouse. It was the perfect getaway for my family who are scattered and often don't get such relaxed fun time together. The house is large, clean and was easy to live in for the 8 of us. We enjoyed exploring the farm, eating in the cafe and buying delicious food from the butcher. The best part of the farmhouse was the porch. Long and wide it provided great vistas for viewing, daydreaming, and catching up with each other.
Why only three stars? The FLIES. We must have killed over 100 the weekend we were there. I think a solution would be to screen in the porch. It was so hard to enjoy a meal without swatting away these annoying pests. Think we had to dump 3-4 glasses of wine because a fly landed in someone's drink. I'm not a farm girl and maybe this is a common problem. But for a vacation, it was a dirty distraction.
