Come stay on a tropical beach in a spacious 3 bedroom, only a short walk from Cockburn Town on the lovely peaceful island of Grand Turk. Breathtaking views, a wonderful beach, superb swimming, diving and snorkeling are right outside your front door. Enjoy beautiful sunsets from your deck. The combination of fun, informal restaurants, expert dive shops, friendly locals, and a relaxed pace of living makes a vacation in Grand Turk uniquely appealing. A trip to Grand Turk transports you back to the 'Old Caribbean,' before big hotels, high rises and crowds of tourists.
Enjoy dazzling water views all day, and relax with a drink or dinner while watching beautiful sunsets. The beach has small tidal pools, shade and (usually) gentle waves. No need to worry about 'reserving a beach chair' on Grand Turk. Instead, miles of virtually empty beaches on the western shore offer a tranquility that is hard to find in the modern world.
This house is part of Island Passage, which has this three bedroom, a cottage (listing number 932470), and a one bedroom unit.
The spacious house has an open plan with a large living/dining room and a spacious kitchen which also has an eat in table. Ceiling fans and air conditioning in every room help you keep your cool. There is a large master bedroom, and two smaller bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a double. There is a large deck with a fabulous view down the beach, and chairs and a table for yet another dining area.
The fenced in yard protects the landscaping from wandering horses and cows. it is literally a few steps away through your gate to the shade of the Casuarina trees on the beach. You can beachcomb and snorkel in front of the house, get picked up by a dive boat for a fantastic experience on Grand Turk's Wall, stroll into town (150 yards away) to wander down Duke Street, or rent a bike or hire a taxi to go a little further afield.
We fell in love with Grand Turk about 10 years ago. After visiting once or twice a week for many years, we finally bought a place of our own, which we love sharing with other people. Grand Turk is a very special place!
Shannon Stringer purchased this house in 2009
The location of this property is perfect! Right on the beach, just far enough away from the main drag that you feel secludes, but a 2 minute walk to the bars and restaurants and dive shops when you are ready to get up off that lounge chair!
Stayed at Shannon and Lary Taylor's very nice beach front house in Grand Turk for a 4 week working period at the local hospital.
The house is very functional, airy, with lots of space in and around it; very good natural light coming in to every room and everything in good working condition, even the air conditioning system, which I used the first two days, and then realized the prevailing Trade Winds would keep me just fine, and cool enough with the windows open (meshing keeps the few bugs out..!!!)
Close by, just 2 or 3 blocks down Front Street, to the many diving schools, like Grand Turk Diving, Blue Water Diving, the restaurants, such as Osprey Hotel, The Salt Raker, with live music and dancing on certain nights, or further up north, passing Cockburn Town, The Bohio, also an hotel, and beach front bars, such as The Sand Bar, with a lively crowd gathering at midday's and evenings.
it was just "what the doctor ordered", and although I was there for work, it was like the holiday of my life, in this very ideal setting, with friendly neighbours, whom I saw occasionally for drinks, at restaurants or supermarkets close by.
Very secure place, even to get back home at night walking after a meal out at one of the cozy places down the road.
Walking straight out from the deck through a gate on to the beach, is just a dream come true; nice pine treas just in front, to place your beach chair and read or doze while listening as the waves lap on the sand. Good Internet wireless connection and Cable TV (no land line phone in the house, so take your mobile). House is secure, but you want to lock it up at night or going out for a day trip diving or island hoping, I'd recommend doing so.
Taxis are necessary (and cheap) if you want to get around the island or get groceries at supermarket; you can rent a car if you want more personal mobility to do some sight seeing.
I personally rented a bike, and it was what I used every day for getting around. The garden is enclosed with stone walls and nicely decorated with flowers and shrubs, but you must close the gates to the road and beach, as horses and donkeys, that walk around freely through the island, tend to come in and eat whatever they can find.
While I was there, Deborah, the administrator in charge of the house, who lives down the road, was extremely helpful with my doubts and getting my bearings straight on my first days there.
I would recommend The Taylor's house anytime; you will have a splendid time there
We spent 9 days on Grand Turk and, in Island Passage, couldn't have hoped for a more comfortable house and better location. The rental procedure was excellent and Deb, the property manger friendly and helpful. The house is beautifully furnished, the kitchen well equipped and the beds exceptionally comfortable. We all dived with nearby Grand Turk Divers who couldn't have been more accommodating - three teenagers one of whom was very apprehensive all learnt to dive. I would highly recommend renting this property!
If you love diving and comfort, stay no more than 2 minutes from the house to Grand Turks Diving, We have stayed here for several trips and it just gets better each time. Solitude, beach front, access to everything thing that GT has to offer. Close to restaurants, golf cart away to food store and liquor store, what more do you need.
The house is right on the beach.....like steps to the water. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen is perfect for a team of divers...like 8 strong......we ate in house everyday,,,,,dove 2 two dives at GT Diving and had a light afternoon lunch and took a nap...Then it is cocktail hour at 5 and the night is ours.......did this routine for two weeks and we missed nothing from the mainland. Our house was well furnished and had all the modern amenities like Wi-Fi. full kitchen and of course outside eating on the deck overlooking the beach and the blue clear water. If you like quite and friend's stay here. The world rotates but this place is stable.
Thank you Shannon for all the back door help.
Will visit again soon with our diving gang. Tell Chase we miss him.
We stayed here for 4 days at the end of a two week diving trip to Salt Cay and Grand Turk. 5 people in all, so the three bedrooms and two baths worked out perfectly. We did some cooking, mainly breakfasts and post dive late lunches, so the fully equipped kitchen worked out great for us. Each bedroom has a split unit A/C (quiet) and there was one big one in the living room common area that kept the place at 72 degrees (sorry for the electric bill, Shannon). The common area is very large with plenty of furniture--couches, chairs, and a dining room table.
The deck has plenty of seating also, with lounges and another large table in the shaded area. From the deck, you look out onto a very nice beach with plenty of shelling and/or sea glass collecting. The water right offshore is good for snorkeling with rocks and coral. Every night we were there we had drinks on the deck to get the sun to set (if you don't do that, it will stay up all night). See the dog on the wall? His name is Paws. The sun sets right behind him. Four dogs adopted up on our stay--all very polite and attentive.
We have been to Grand Turk many times in the last 15 years, but never had stayed here. It is only about 200 yards from our favorite dive shop, Grand Turk Diving, which is across the road from the Osprey Hotel. If you choose not to cook, there are plenty of places to eat within a 15 minute walk--the Osprey, Sand Bar, etc.
One interesting surprise for us was that, after just getting eaten up by mosquitoes a few hundred yards up the road, there were none here. The reason, I think, was that this place gets a good strong breeze all the time.

What a wonderful place to stay! By far the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. Right on the beach, just open the gate and walk right out to the ocean. The location is perfect, close enough to restaurants and shops to walk. And when we wanted to do a little more socializing, we went to the cruise center to check out the stores there and go to Margaritaville!
The house is very nice and cozy. Large kitchen stocked with cookware, which we used the entire 10 days we were there. Grocery stores also very close, we walked to three different ones.
Very clean and someone clearly takes good care of this house. The manager was also very helpful, she had a cab waiting for us at the airport when we landed and met us at the house to let us in. She even emailed me mid-week to check in and make sure we were doing ok.
This a a great place to stay and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation!
When we first pulled up to the house, we were concerned by the worn and weathered look of the outside of the house but….don‘t judge a book by its cover!! We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at this house! Although the pictures on the site are a bit outdated, it was perfect. Perfect location to “town”, most of the restaurants, and dive shops. We needed a place to stay for 3 adults and a 5 year old. There was plenty of room for all of us and the master bedroom and bathroom had a privacy door that separated us from the living area. Everything was neat, clean and plenty of supplies throughout the house including towels, soaps, etc. Only 3 things about the house that we’d have liked which is a dresser in the little bedroom my son used (I didn’t have anywhere to keep his clothes for the duration of our stay), a phone, and a safe. Although I’m sure this island is really safe, we were traveling with a lot of cash and had nowhere to keep it. And without a phone, it was difficult planning things to do around the island. Luckily, everyone is so incredibly nice, many people offered to make calls for us or let us use their phones! Also, don't expect the property manager to check in on you during your stay which is good for the most part that she isn't intruding but there were times we could have used some recommendations for local activities. There’s a dirt road leading from the main street, Duke Street, to the house. It is a very, very short walk to the Osprey Hotel (the "fine" dining on the island where we ate breakfast and dinner a lot). Grand Turk Dive shop is directly across the street from the Osprey and offers bike rentals (but be prepared to pay an outrageous deposit per day per bike!!!!). Be sure to eat at the Secret Garden, too which is just down from Grand Turk diving…they have the best prices, the best food and the best people working there. We weren’t thrilled with The Sandbar restaurant but if you eat there check your receipt before you pay!! There are a lot of other really good local places to eat away from Duke Street… Barbie’s, the Poop Deck, Jack’s Shack. Oh and be mindful of the time as many of the restaurants stop serving at certain times of the day…they are definitely on their own schedules and not for us tourists. With the house right on the beach, we could go for long walks down beautiful white sand beaches with hardly another person around. It was great! Loved the house and the location and Grand Turk!
If you are looking for a perfect beach location for access to diving, town, and beach ...stop...this house is the one! Located right on a beach that has the best sea shells, sea glass, privacy, the 3 bedroom , two bath is the ideal spot to watch beautiful sunsets. The walk to the dive shop ( Grand Turk Dive ) and the Osprey Hotel is less than a block and usually came complete with the hello to one of the donkeys that run free on the island. ( we named him Caicos). Fun to watch the dive shop ( Smitty and Jason) bring the boats in for the morning dives while we drank our coffee on the deck. Then we knew it was time to suit up and mosey on down to head out on the most beautiful dive sites!
The house has comfy furniture, a complete kitchen, outdoor shower for beach rinsing, and a/c in each bedroom ( although nice breezes at night..and could hear the waves..very relaxing sleep )
You can rent bikes from Grand Turk diving , would recommend doing it on a day to day basis, as you can walk most places.
Internet available, but we ended up taking our ipads to Osprey while we had bkf before diving. Tv available...had some luscious rains...so used tv some...games and books also there.
Took Taxi from airport, our driver knew the house....would only rent a car or golf cart..on a day basis. taxis very reasonable...
Quaint island, grocery/liquor stores adequate for what we needed. Did not go to the crusie ship center, but enjoyed watching the boats come in each morning...and leave in the afternoon.quiet, friendly island......
Loved this house, the island, and for certain the diving . Will be back !!!
Oh also really enjoyed the Sand Bar restaurant for drinks and sunsets...Duke Street is fascinating...historically , and the architecture is charming.
Ok just writing this makes me want to be there! So go have fun. Thanks Shannon and Larry for your property use !
