3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Right On The Beach
About Shannon Stringer
We fell in love with Grand Turk about 10 years ago. After visiting once or twice a week for many years, we finally bought a place of our own, which we love sharing with other people. Grand Turk is a very special place!
Shannon Stringer purchased this House in 2009
Why Shannon Stringer chose Cockburn Town
Grand Turk is a piece of the old Caribbean. Slow paced, friendly, and very relaxed. A bathing suit, a cover up and some flip flops are all the clothes you need for your vacation here. Step out of the rush of modern life, listen to the waves, feel the sea breeze and feel yourself in the moment.
What makes this House unique
The location of this property is perfect! Right on the beach, just far enough away from the main drag that you feel secluded, but a 2 minute walk to the bars and restaurants and dive shops when you are ready to get up off that lounge chair!

Amazing on the beach near Duke street comfortable home
We sure loved our visit to GT and this home was perfect for our group. We had 3 couples ranging from 40’s-60’s years old. We are comfortable with many types of accommodations and this one hit it out of the park. There are 3 different sized rooms and 2 nice bathrooms plus the outdoor cold water shower. We enjoyed being able to rinse off right out of the ocean! The check in process was smooth and the manager met us at the property to familiarize is with the home. She was quickly accessible when a couple questions arose and I appreciate her response time.
This is a Caribbean home. Not every detail is high end and perfect so if you need a pristine super lush property, this isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a beautiful and very well equipped kitchen, a large dining area with comfortable chairs, 2 fabulous large sitting areas with comfortable couches, good beds in rooms with their own AC I’m each room, and lots of homey decor that makes this feel like a home, than this place is for you. It’s everything the description says it is. We will DEFINITELY be back to this home! The location is perfect near Duke street and with in easy walking distance to the restaurants that are open once the cruise ships are gone. It takes approx 2 min to walk from the yard to the Osprey Hotel as an example. We cooked many meals in the house and never had a problem finding cookware we wanted to use.
I would recommend you either bring your own shampoo or plan on a stop at a grocery store. If you’ve not been to GR before, be warned that the grocery stores don’t always have every item you want. Sometimes it takes multiple stops or you have to wait until the next day to get something. I recommend you get a taxi to the Smart stores, they tend to be a little better stocked with more selections.
Also, try to rent a golf cart or other transportation for a day at least. It’s so fun to check out the island. The manager can help you set this up also. Ok, I think that’s it.
Don’t be worried about booking this wonderful home. It’s everything you want it to be.
Thank you Shannon, we will be back!
Love love love
Perfect location great house looking forward to returning. Spent 4 great days there at the beginning of our trip then went to provo. Wish we would have stayed there
A special place
Island Passage was a great introduction to Grand Turk for several of my friends who wanted to visit my favorite place. The house was just right. We had breakfast on the patio with the cool morning breeze and post-diving the comfortable rooms allowed us to relax both inside and in the hammock. Beach walking was great with sea glass and shells. The new kitchen functioned well even if we did not cook but took advantage of walking to local restaurants on Duke St. All in all as a frequent visitor to Grand Turk for many years I was very pleased with Island Passage as it made my friends first visit special.
So glad your friends had a great introduction to Grand Turk and happy that our home helped to make it so!
We absolutely loved our stay at this comfortable island home. It was located within an easy walk to good restaurants and downtown and yet was very private. Sitting on the deck in the shade was heaven, and then the house was super comfortable as well. There were 6 of us and there was plenty of space for all to lounge around both inside and out. We never needed the AC because there were ceiling fans all over. The kitchen was very well equipped (although we didn't find the better stocked grocery store until later in our stay, a good excuse to check out the restaurants - be sure to find Sunshine's, well worth it!!). When the wind cooperates, there is good snorkeling right in front of the house (our favorites included octopus, juvenile French angel, huge porcupine fish, and the beautiful - but invasive - lion fish) and there are stretches of lovely beach in both directions for easy access in and out. The beds were comfortable, with nice linens and abundant towels. Internet access was good and I can't comment on TV because we never bothered to turn it on. Our point person, Anita, was in easy contact and responded to all of our requests right away and she got us in touch with Jose, who we called upon a lot to ferry the 6 of us around the island to other great snorkeling spots. We did a couple of great boat snorkels with Blue Water Divers which were a 2 minute walk from the house. We definitely hated to leave this perfect place!
We are so glad you had a great time! And we are excited to head there ourselves next week!
The location of this house was amazing! It was steps from the ocean and very close to several of the restaurants and bars in Cockburn Town. We spent most of our time on the deck and on the beach right outside of the house. The beach chairs (that we could take to the beach) are becoming a little worn, but they still did the trick. The chairs on the deck were in great shape. The shade trees on the beach were wonderful. The snorkeling was great right from the house. The house was not high end, but well taken care of and clean. Although we went shopping as soon as we arrived, the house was stocked well enough that we could have waited for the next day. The house had plenty of room. The kitchen was huge and the two full bathrooms accommodated everyone. The toaster in the kitchen didn't work, but everything else worked fine. The master bedroom had a closet and dressers, but the people in the other two rooms lived out of their suitcases. One of the rooms had a dresser and closet, but no hanging bar in the closet. The other room had no closet and a dresser that didn't have a lot of room for clothes. Hooks on the back of the door would be helpful. Anita, the property manager, was wonderful. She had Jose, the taxi driver, meet us at the airport and she met us at the house. Both of them gave us a lot of information on where to locate amenities. When the wifi didn't work and Anita couldn't resolve the issue, she asked the neighbor to give us his password, and he came right over and shared it with us. She also brought us her hammock to use. I would definitely rent this house again.
There really is not a lot to do on the island but dive and snorkel. We rented a golf cart one day and checked out the island, which was fun. We walked into town and went to the museum. One of our party would take an early morning walk along the birding trail. If you're visiting to be entertained, choose an island other than Grand Turk. That being said, everyone was extremely nice and tried to be helpful. You will need to ask directions...the tourism office moved and was hard to find. When we found it they handed us two pretty useless brochures (so don't waste your time). The post office was hard to find. The grocery stores were not well stocked, but there were many, so you just went to another one. Dinner at restaurants sometimes took a few hours and at other times we were served quickly. This island is all about rest and relaxation!
Thanks for your feedback and sorry about the toaster, which has been replaced. Grand Turk is a small island and our close proximity to the sea is hard on appliances. We will pass along your kind words to Anita and we look forward to hosting to you again on your next visit to Grand Turk!
Private, spacious, beachfront property right on the beach in the small island of Grand Turk. Seclusion on the beach in a large comfortable house which is only a 2 minute walk to town along the sandy road. On the same property as our smaller cottage listing number 932470.
