Peace of Paradise is Cottage #57 in Steinhatchee Landing Resort

NEW SCALLOP SEASON DATES FOR 2017!!

The 2017 bay scallop season for Dixie County and parts of Taylor County will be open from June 16 through Sept. 10. This includes all state waters from the Suwannee River through the Fenholloway River. These changes are for 2017 only and are an opportunity to explore regionally-specific bay scallop seasons.

Relax and enjoy this large, beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath cottage that sleeps 8 in Steinhatchee Landing Resort. The large, open floor plan provides plenty of space, along with areas perfect for a bit of privacy or quiet time. There are three screen porches, a family room, and a large living room. The cottage is perfect for large families, several couples, or for groups of friends heading to the coast for a get away or to take in all of the natural resources that the Nature Coast has to offer.

Experience the best scalloping and fishing in the area and dock your boat at the resort boat slips. Enjoy the Old Florida living that encompasses the Steinhatchee Landing Resort. The beautiful amenities include a 55' swimming pool, fitness room, sauna, hot tub, petting zoo, playground, tennis courts, basketball court, archery and walking trails. Canoes and kayaks are available for rent at a local marina. A screened pavilion is also available to rent for smaller parties.

The first thing that you will notice when you arrive at Peace of Paradise is the large, lazy screen porch that goes across the entire front of the cottage! Who can resist a porch swing and a ceiling fan on a breezy day? Share fishing stories or simply enjoy conversation with family, and friends and relish the beautiful views of The Landing. If the swing is full, don’t worry as there is plenty of other seating including wicker chairs and other porch furniture. In fact, even if a bit of rain arrives, you won’t mind because watching the rain from this porch is a delight!

The large, fully equipped kitchen shines with beautiful maple cabinetry and ceramic tile floors. Well lit and open, it features a pantry, refrigerator/freezer, gas range, microwave and dishwasher. You will find everything you need to prepare great family meals including pots and pans, dishes, glassware, silverware, blender, hand mixer, cutting boards and cooking utensils. You will even find a well-stocked spice cabinet! A spacious family room connects to the kitchen with a sleeper sofa, dining table, and TV, so the chefs won’t be separated from the rest of the activity.

A large, living room is located off the kitchen and has a beautiful wood-burning fireplace. Teak flooring and 12 foot ceilings accent the leather reclining sectional (hide-a-bed), as well as a dining room table and chairs. A wall mounted TV is great for watching sports or favorite TV shows or movies on the DVD player. Extra-tall French Doors open to a screened porch overlooking the BBQ area with a charcoal grill in the backyard. A hammock swings under the trees to add a finishing touch!

A large full bath is located downstairs. A tankless water heater ensures hot water in any location in the house in just seconds!

Upstairs are the two bedrooms, both with queen beds. The bathroom is located between the two bedrooms, featuring separate, private vanity areas and commodes. A large garden tub with a shower is shared between the two vanities. There is a washer and dryer and a portable crib is provided for the littlest guest!

The large master bedroom features a custom cypress bed, a gas fireplace, large walk-in closet and its own private screened porch. This porch sits as high as the trees for a lovely view of the trees and creek. It provides a tranquil setting to read, enjoy a drink, take a nap, or simply relax and listen to the sounds of the birds chirping. A wall mounted LCD TV over the fireplace and sitting area make this a true retreat for relaxation.

The driveway adjoining the house provides plenty of parking for 2 or possibly 3 cars.

The resort provides many amenities: A large pool, Jacuzzi, work-out area, tennis court and basketball court as well as a small petting zoo with goats, chickens and ducks.

There is a boat dock with approximately 22 boat slips available on a first-come, first-served basis, with plenty of parking in the resort for your boat trailer.

Come and enjoy this cottage! Whether you are here for fishing, scalloping, bird watching, or just to relax, you have found a Peace of Paradise!

Gorgeous Home, Aptly Named

  • 5 of 5

We loved our 4-night stay at Peace of Paradise. This spacious home has an extremely well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to make breakfast, dinner or just frozen libations after a fun day of exploring the beautiful Big Bend of Florida. The house is very spacious, with screened porches front and back. We enjoyed having coffee on the porch in the morning and wine or beers in the evening. The home is also beautifully furnished, with fun fishing decor, really one of the nicest rental homes we have stayed in. We could tell the owners have put lots of love into their "Peace of Paradise."

The upstairs bathroom is shared (literally) between two bedrooms, with doors separating the two toilet areas -- so that took a little getting used to (make sure you knock before entering from your bedroom if you are sharing with another couple, as we were!)

There is an open area beside this house which was perfect for parking our kayak trailer -- not all the houses at Steinhatchee Landing have this; otherwise you need to park your boat/kayaks in the central boat storage area. This was a real perk of this property.

We loved this home and highly recommend it!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This weekend get-a-way was purchased for a friends birthday! What an awesome choice we made because it turned out to be a wonderful place to stay. Very clean home, beautiful grounds, large pool and a play ground for the kids. It felt like you were up in the mountains while sitting on the back porch. They even have goats and chickens to check out in pens! I recommend you bring a golf cart if you have one because they are welcome but don't have rentals. Everyone agreed there would be a return trip here! While in the area make sure you eat at Fiddler's...they will treat you like they've known you forever and the food is awesome! Try their smoked chicken wings...they are the bomb! They will even take care of you if you're gluten free. :)

Gals' weekend retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a relaxing weekend sitting on the porches surrounded by beautiful trees and lovely Victorian cottages on all sides. The cabin was very nice and well-maintained, the only blip being some missing bedding for the sleeper sofa in the living room. The overall experience was wonderful. We will likely be back!

Parents Treat

  • 5 of 5

Great place and was ready on a short notice. The renters even allowed me to stay till 6:00pm that afternoon even though there was a 11:00am checkout. I was able to enjoy more time with my family. I do say the parking spot beside the property is kinda small. I put a 18 foot boat and truck in that hole. I just didn't trust leaving my boat at a remote location. I would rent this place again. I wished i had more time there.
