PLEASE NOTE ... The City of Golden is requires homes in our neighborhood to be rented for at least 30 days at a time.
Our sister property has a few miscellaneous weeks open, if interested, please contact us for availability.
Casa Bonita is a wonderful 4 Bedroom, 3 Bath home that our family added onto and completely remodeled.
The home has more privacy than you would imagine sitting up on a bluff overlooking Lookout Mountain to the West and Castle Rock/Table Mountain to the East. While there are stairs in front, you can drive right into the carport in back and walk a few short steps into our family retreat (no stairs!).
The open Floor Plan includes a spacious Kitchen with Granite Counters, new Appliances and Breakfast Bar. The living space includes a Large Dining Area with Stone Fireplace, inviting Living Room with incredible views, Covered Entry (front and back), Laundry/Mud Room, Master Suite with Large Shower and Double Vanity, plus Flat Screen TV and Cable, 2nd Bedroom and 2nd Full Bath all on the 1st Floor. The 2nd Floor includes 2 large bedrooms and a large hall Bath. There is a deck off the 3rd Bedroom with incredible views of both Castle Rock and Lookout Mountain. This bedroom also has a 32' Television with Cable.
The setting is equally charming with a fenced in backyard including a very large covered flag stone patio. You can use our little Char-Broil charcoal grill for grilling and the Chimenea for outdoor entertaining (great for Smores!!!). The front yard sits up high with beautiful views of Lookout Mountain, lots of privacy and has been enhanced with large local area Boulders. There is plenty of parking including a 3 car carport and additional off street parking with access from our back alley (just a few steps from the home).
The location is perfect! You can take a short walk to downtown Golden, Fossil Trace Golf Course, Castle Rock or Lookout Mountain or walk down to Clear Creek or the Golden Recreation Center.
The Master Suite has a queen bed, the second bedroom downstairs has 2 twin beds. The third bedroom upstairs also has a queen and the fourth bedroom has 4 twin beds. There are two couches in the Living Room. This is a fantastic home in the middle of Downtown Golden's residential community and only a few blocks from the Colorado School of Mines.
Some of the amenities include Cable TV, High Speed Wireless Internet and Google TV in the Living Room (check email, watch movies for free on Netflix).
Don't miss our latest addition in the Dining area, a circa 1991 iMac for Browsing the Internet just like we did in the 90's. You can even read the iMac book that explains the machine to you. See one of Steve Jobs first creations!
Casa Bonita has been our family vacation home for almost 10 years. The house was originally owned by our Great Aunt. We really enjoy Golden and all that it has to offer and are sure you will too!
David and Lauren Conderman purchased this house in 2003
Casa Bonita is spacious, but not so big that a couple wouldn't enjoy staying there.
This beautiful home has been loving cared for and used by our family to vacation in Golden for almost 10 years.
It sits in a quiet residential neighborhood and is within walking distance to historic downtown, yet is right in between 2 wonderful mountain ranges. We know you will enjoy the wonderful mountain open space and wildlife.
The beautiful views, close amenities, convenience to Denver, the Mountains, hiking, biking, skiing and more make Casa Bonita the place to stay for a Week or Months!
Lovely family home built for us, not as a rental. We know you will enjoy it as much as we do!
Amazing home!! We had a great time very close to downtown shopping and eateries! Can't wait to stay again.
We had a lovely family reunion to celebrate our son's graduation from Mines in a very cozy atmosphere at the Casa Bonita!
The house was very well located within walking distance of the Mines campus. It is well furnished and the light that comes thru the windows is very nice. Inside it is well laid out with an open space leading to kitchen, dining room and living room. This made our family graduation lunch very enjoyable, with ample space for gathering, then moving to the dining area and lastly taking to the garden for the memorable photos. The kitchen is spacious and fully furnished, the laundry room is easily accessible and fully equipped. The garden is green and spacious with a covered terrace, which we enjoyed particularly at sunset. The 4 rooms, two per floor, had good mattresses and all beds were made and ready for our visit. All rooms have windows with a view and shades. The three bathrooms are clean, comfortable and had good showers. The access to the house thru the carport, from the back alley was level, which made our comings and goings very straightforward. The disposal of trash was also done once a week thru containers at the carport, and moving those big containers to the alley was easy. The house is well heated and all rooms have extra blankets.
Golden has great beers, tasty american food (hamburgers and pizzas) and friendly restaurants. Friday nights it is advisable to reserve in advance. The Geology Museum from Mines and the Coors Brewery Tours were very interesting. Parks abound for enjoyable walks and a hike to the South Table gave us wonderful views on Golden.
The public transportation to and from the airport provided by the LightRail is commendable, I think it is the only big city in the USA to provide this very useful service of linking train stations to airports!
My suggestions for making the house even more agreeable would be to add shelves or drawers for the folded clothes in the Master Bedroom on the first floor and space for hanging clothes in the 4 single beds bedroom on the second floor. I would also encourage access to the house exclusively thru the alley off of 22nd Street and Arapahoe St, in consideration of the two neighboring houses.
We enjoyed our time in Golden, and we look forward to staying at the Casa Bonita again!
My husband and I spent the month of June at Casa Bonita in Golden. Our children and grandchildren, who live in 3 different states, came to relax and spend time with us. The home was so comfortable and had everything we needed, other than a DVD player for evening movies. The kids loved the fenced-in yard, the circular stairs and the room with 4 twin beds upstairs. There was plenty of room for us to relax in the living room and a nice, big table for dining. The kitchen included everything we needed plenty of cupboards and counter space and I loved having a convenient washer and dryer in the large laundry room. The nearby caretaker assisted us in finding a blown fuse for the dryer and came to mow the grass each week.
We had the best vacation with our family. Golden is a beautiful little town with lots of nice little restaurants and shops. The views are awesome. We spent lots of time down by Clear Creek. We found so many beautiful hikes and things to do in the surrounding area. We were busy every day and loved coming back to Casa Bonita after our adventures. We visited Lookout Mountain, Lair of the Bear Park, Dinosaur Ridge, Three Sisters hiking in Evergreen, Golden Gate Canyon, Red Rocks, Roxborough State Park, Denver Nature and Science Museum, Mt Evans hiking, Rocky Mt. National Park, Hiwan Homestead, Denver Botanical Gardens for a bluegrass concert, St, Mary's Glacier hike, Argo Gold Mine Tour, Castlewood Canyon Hike. We also drove to lovely Buena Vista to reconnect with friends and spent 2 days in Colorado Springs (Garden of the Gods, Seven Bridge hike and Cheyenne Mt. Zoo). We really made the most of every day. We would highly recommend Casa Bonita. The owners were very accommodating. The listed cost for a month is higher in the summer, but still great for a month's vacation in a wonderful location. We would love to return.
We loved staying at Casa Bonita. The location in Golden is ideal--easy walking distance to downtown and nice areas for morning/evening walks. The photos perfectly capture the essence of the home--lovely wooden floors, cool winding staircase to two nice upstairs bedrooms and bath, well-equipped kitchen, and wonderful covered back-yard patio where we spent many mornings and evenings. I would suggest upgrading the mattress on the first floor (a king would be nice) and add a portable stereo for an iphone or ipod so music could be played in the kitchen, bedroom or patio. Casa Bonita is a wonderful vacation home to which we would love to return. Thank you for sharing your home.
Casa Bonita provided a lovely, comfortable place for our family to stay in Golden. Everything was perfect – the layout of the house, the cookware, dishes and linens, the private main-floor “suite” for the grandparents, the fenced-in back yard with blooming lilacs and wegalia, the spiral staircase (kids loved it!). It was even better than the photos showed! The space was also great for entertaining some family who were in town for the wedding we attended.
The owners and the local caretakers were quickly responsive to the questions and few needs we had, and everything in the house worked well. We were especially glad for the laundry facilities and having enough bathrooms for everyone in our party of 7.
We attended a family wedding at the nearby Briarwood Inn, and it was great to have a nearby place to stay – took a lot of pressure off all of us. After the wedding we also enjoyed the community center pool and sightseeing in town. The Casa Bonita neighborhood was quiet and fun to walk in. Safeway grocery store was just a few blocks away (we made numerous trips there!), and we enjoyed trying a few local restaurants. We were sorry to have to leave, and hope to stay at this lovely house again someday!
We stayed at Casa Bonita during the CO School of Mines graduation weekend. It's proximity to campus and central location (within Golden) was perfect! The home had everything our family and guests needed...we felt very comfortable In this warm and inviting location! The owners were very accommodating and even coordinated for an early check-in for our family. All the amenities were "as advertised" and the property was clean and meticulously maintained! I would definitely recommend a stay at this property!
Golden is a small town with 2 mountain ranges, one on the East and one on the West. It's only 15 minutes from Downtown Denver and now has Light Rail Service right to Downtown.
Golden is a quaint area with small town feel including local shops and restaurants, plus tons of amenities. In addition to shopping and dining in downtown Golden, only 10 blocks from our home, you will find many cultural events and activities as well including the Colorado School of Mines.
There are tons of outdoor activities including: hiking, biking, mountain biking, golf, tennis, tubing and 45 minutes to the nearest ski resort, Ski Loveland. You are only 5 minutes from the Coors Brewery or 3 minutes from Golden City Brewery or Mountain Toad Brewery (two of the local micro breweries). A 30 minute hike from our front door will take you to the top of Castle Rock (one of our favorite hikes) or 45 minutes the other direction to the top of Lookout Mountain. You also will enjoy Clear Creek just 6 minutes away on the North side of Downtown Golden. You can swim, walk, bike or go tubing along the river. There are two big movie theatres and the Colorado Mills Mall only 3.6 miles away.
The great thing about Golden is you can enjoy all that downtown Denver has to offer (only 15 minutes away by car or 30 by Light Rail), but still be in a quaint private community away from the hustle and bustle of the city!
