Home from home
Great location, great hosts the accommodation was perfect for us
Our home away from home in Vancouver!
Jen and Jean provided us with everything possible to make our 3 week stay in Vancouver such a pleasurable experience. The beautiful cedar suite is located by the lovely trout lake park, which alone would be perfect. But just a short 15 min walk away is commercial drive with bustling restaurants and shops. Also, the suite is positioned between 2 sky train stops, so perfect for seeing the city at large. Not forgetting the bus services which too are excellent for getting about; thanks for the compass cards guys! To top things off, the suite had a parking spot which we could park our car in. North Vancouver is just over 20 mins away in a car (off peak), that proved invaluable to us visiting family on the North shore. The suite itself is fully equipped and very comfortable; we honestly couldn't have asked for more. The complementary mac is a bonus and so useful for checking out trout lake suite recommendations! Thanks to Jen, Jean and friendly Boomer, we are E.vancouverites for life and look forward to returning one day! You won't regret booking this suite, all the very best!
Lovely area and great hosts
beautiful spring break in vancouver
This suite is on a nice street lined with cherry trees which were in blossom when we arrived. It is situated across from Trout Lake recreation area and community centre. It is a nice place to walk around. We did not use the facility but it is easily available with lots of different activities, especially for children. We were a 15 minute walk from a grocery store and from Commercial Drive where there are many fabulous restaurants. The owners were very accommodating and provided information on suggested restaurants and activities. While we were there we had a few rainy days (after all this is in Vancouver!) and found the gas fireplace helped to warm us up.
the suite was clean and the owners provided coffee, tea, sugar, olive oil. We had all of the dishes and pans that we needed for breakfasts and lunches. We ate out for dinner at the numerous fabulous restaurants that Vancouver offers.
During our stay we played golf at Burnaby Mountain which was a short drive. We took transit to the Vancouver Art Gallery, buying our ticket at the Commercial Drive station a short walk from the suite. We drove to the Vancouver Aquarium and to the Van Dusen botanical gardens.
Close to all attractions
We had wonderful time staying in trout lake suite. The location is in proximity to everything you can think of doing while in Vancouver. Also close to groceries and restaurants. Jen and Jean gave us some travel tips that was very helpful.Property is little old but well equipped, has everything in case you need to cook. Kids had a great time watching TV, playing with puzzles and reading books when we were not out exploring.
Central location right on beautiful Trout Lake park. Quiet suite, with all the amenities you'll need. Jennifer was very responsive and inviting as a host.
The suite is very close to John Hendry Park ('Trout Lake'), a beautiful 80-hectare park with a walking path around the lake, a cycling path around lake, an off-leash dog park, picnic and barbecue areas, a brand new high-end kids playground, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, a beach area, and beautiful mountain and wildlife views.
The park also features a community centre with a full commercial-grade gym that is open to the public, as well as fitness classes, dance classes, art classes and more. (And for many classes, drop-ins are welcome.)
The suite is located very close to shops and cafes of Commercial Drive, named one of the hippest neighbourhoods in North America, and offers easy access to all other areas of the city, from North Shore mountains (Grouse Mountain, Capilano Suspension Bridge, etc.) to Granville Island to downtown galleries, museums, theatres and more.
Our guests always comment on how much they love the location!
