Enjoy a mixture of tranquility and central location in our modern, comfortably furnished 2-room and 4-room apartments. Both are located on the ground floor of an apartment house, which was built in 1997. They have their own terraces and underground garage. Both apartments had a renovation in 2010.
Cultural Offers: The Semper Opera and the Staatsschauspiel theatre are among Germany's finest stages. There are numerous other theatres and cabarets, including the famous Herkuleskeule. Dresden's State Art Collection belong to the world's most important museums. A total of 12 museums offer a variety that is completely unique. These include the Old Masters Picture Gallery, the Green Gate, the Copperplate Cabinet, the Porcelain Collection and the Mathematics and Physics Salon. Dresden has a high concentration of cinemas, which include a multiplex movie theatre just 5 minutes away. The open-air movie nights by the Elbe are unforgettable. Enjoy the Elbhang Festival and the City Festival during the summer or the Striezel Market during the winter. The Dresden Music Festivals attract 100,000 music lovers every year, and tickets to the International Dixieland Festival in May are always in demand. A number of alternative city tours offer fresh perspectives.
Sights: Dresden and part of the Elbe Valley have been part of the World Heritage since 2004. Dresden's historic centre, with the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), the palace, the Zwinger Palace and the Semper Opera House, are all just minutes from the apartment, and in themselves well worth the trip. The inner Neustadt (New Town) on the opposite bank of the Elbe offers wonderfully restored baroque houses with large courtyards. The outer Neustadt features many buildings from the late 19th century. Well known as a trendy area of town, an evening's pub crawl offers something for everyone. On hot days, a visit to Dresden's underworld is very pleasant; the catacombs tell tales of earlier times. Modern architecture that is well worth seeing is also available, such as the Jewish Synagogue, or the VW glass manufactory. In the vicinity, Meissen entices with its porcelain works and Albrecht Castle, as does Moritzburg with its Moated Palace, its zoo, its steamer ride to Pillnitz Castle and its parks.
Sports and fun: It is possible to walk or jog in the the large garden before breakfast. The Elbe bicycle path is available for long or short tours, and it is possible to return with the S-Bahn overland train. Bicycles can be rented in town. It is possible to swim in a number of lakes and public pools. Inline skaters will enjoy the Elbe bicycle path or the Grand Garden, and from time to time large night time skating events are organized. Saxony's Switzerland features numerous hiking paths, which vary from easy to difficult, and which offer spectacular views. Climbing and mountaineering is available, also with varying levels of difficulty. Canoes and rubber boats are available on the Elbe, should you not prefer one of the steamships of the famous White Fleet. For children, the Grand Garden offers the much-loved park railway, a zoo, and the newly renovated Museum of Hygiene. We'll be happy to inform you of regional attractions.
A spacious apartment on the ground floor of an apartment building 15 minute walk to Old Town.. and 5 minute walk from Hauptbahnhof. Kitchen with all equipment and utensils. Games and books, videos for entertainment if wet.
Gabriele was most accommodating as we had a late flight. Would definitely recommend, Dresden is a fantastic city with plenty to do and see.
We did not really take advantage of this beautiful apartment - we got in pretty late an mostly just slept here. However, it is spacious apartment (for our family of 5) with 2 bathrooms. It was VERY clean, seemed like it was new, and very neat. The hostess (and her son, whose English was very good) met us to let us in, showed us everything. They were very nice, helpful, both then and with making the arrangements.
My impression was that the apartment is nicer than the photos show. It was a place that I would be very happy to live in.
We had a car, but parking was easy to find. Location was great - super convenient in getting to the train station and the old city. I would recommend this rental to anyone - the price was reasonable, the hosts helpful and friendly, and the apartment is very well maintained (almost as if it were new or just recently remodeled) . Great stay.
This wonderfully comfortable and spacious apartment was the perfect place for a week long holiday in Dresden for 2 elderly ladies. It was just the place to come home to after a tiring day of discovering the delights of Dresden. A quiet drink in the outdoor courtyard was the perfect finish to the day. The apartment was clean, quiet and beautifully furnished with some lovely artwork on the walls; the welcome vase of flowers that greeted us on arrival was a lovely touch. The apartment was in easy walking distance to the old town. A basket of information leaflets etc was available. However the inclusion of a map of Dresden would be useful. Some instructions in English regarding garbage disposal and bottle returns would also be useful.generally, a perfect apartment, perfect location. Thank you Gabriele for helping to make our stay in Dresden so enjoyable.
Our group of 6 had a great stay in Dresden. The location of the apartment was perfect for us. We appreciated the information and tips upon arrival. We found the location great for our trip. We visited the city sights easily and enjoyed the ease of the apartment. The grocery store is located conveniently near the apartment also. Thank you for making our trip so wonderful.
My family (my husband, daughter 6, son 8, and myself) and I traveled throughout Germany. We really enjoyed staying here. It was probably the best place we stayed. The flat was extremely clean. It had plenty of linens. It was very spacious. 2 rooms have very nice size beds and 1 room has a couch that folds out. There is plenty of closet and storage space. The flat had games and videos all in German, but my husband and children had fun trying to play a game while I cooked dinner. The kitchen had everything you could imagine. Their is a little patio off the dining area that you can sit out on. The patio has a table you can eat at also. The supermarket is on the next corner. It is in walking distance to the tram. There is also parking in a garage for low cars. We had a SUV so we parked on the street for the 3 nights we were there for 3.50 euros (for the entire stay). It is easy to see the historic sites. It is in a safe area. There is a laundry in the basement. It cost 1.50 euros for wash and 1.50 euros for dry. This was much more reasonable than the laundrymat in Berlin. It is important that you switch on the electrical switch before putting the money in the washer or dryer. It is very easy to do and their are instructions in German with pictures. Gabriele is very helpful as well Ms. Griesbach, the neighbor. It felt very good to be able to come back, cook (if we wanted), and relax in a very home like atmosphere after a day of sightseeing. Thank you Gabriele for sharing your flat with us. I would defenitely stay here again if we were to visit Dresden and I would recommend it to my friends.
You'll stay just 300 m from both Dresden's renowned old town, and the much-loved 'Grand Garden' park. The train station is 700 m away, trains and overland S-Bahn trains connect you to the region and the airport. Berlin and Prague both are comfortable day trips.
Other Activities: jogging, walking
Golf: Dresden has two golf courses: Ullersdorf (18 holes) at the edge of the Dresdener Heath, and The Dresdner Golfclub e.V. in Herzogswalde (9 holes). Both courses are a 20 to 30 minutes drive away.
