Welcome to our Schoolhouse Cottage located in the heart of the Berkshires. Set in front of the ledges of Warner Mountain, this historic home was originally a three room schoolhouse until the late 1920's and the development of the regional school system. It then passed through two owners and was finally purchased in 1953 by a family who lived there for many years. Now updated, the cottage has become a peaceful 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with all the comforts of home.
Located on the side of Butternut Ski Resort, this property is under half a mile to the resort entrance, making it extremely convenient for skiers. Jiminy Peak and Catamount Mountain are also a short drive for skiers. Tired of hitting the slopes? A five minute drive will bring you to the restaurants, theaters and shops of Great Barrington. Venture down route 7 to explore the hidden treasures in antique shops. Or call it a night and relax in your own private rental with a fully equipped kitchen and smart tv. Kids have plenty of room to play in the large front and side yards.
This cottage comfortably sleeps 3-4. Bedroom one has a queen size bed. Bedroom two has a twin bed that pulls out into two side by side mattresses, similar to a trundle and comfortable for two. Note that these may not be separated due to the design. The living room has a couch that pulls out into a double bed also comfortable for two. Towels and linens are provided. Please note, for any guests traveling with pets, the yard is not entirely fenced. We advise that you keep your pet leashed at all times.
A maximum of 5 guests are allowed, with a cleaning fee based on the number of guests.

The unique benefit of this property is by far the privacy yet extremely close proximity to Butternut Ski Resort and the beautiful town of Great Barrington.
Very thoughtfully appointed, comfortable, clean, private and well-situated cottage perfect for a weekend in the Berkshires. Thanks for all the thoughtful touches that made it such a cozy place to stay!
This is our 3rd time returning to the schoolhouse cottage and we plan to continue the yearly tradition. The cottage is clean, spacious and feels like a home away from home. Nestled up against wooded property it is quiet and peaceful yet a few minutes drive to the center of town. Excellent restaurants, shopping and hiking nearby.
Our host is more than welcoming every year and we look forward to our return trip.
The property was in great condition, and Shana provided a lot of nice extras.
We had a weekend wedding to go to and loved our stay in the cottage. Everything needed was supplied and the place was spotless. Wish we could of stayed longer
Very well appointed and comfortable. Owner quickly responded to a blown fuse. Convenient to town. We highly recommend!
Our trip to the Berkshires was wonderful. While most of our days were spent on the road it was nice to have the extra space and feel of a small home than a hotel room. It was a little funny having to stand behind the chair for the TV remote to work but again, we didn't go to the Berkshires to watch TV. The location was actually close to the areas of main interest to us; downtown Great Barrington, and Stockbridge and other surrounding towns. It had all the amenities we needed.
