The hand painted sign saying Well Fed Farm will cue you to the turn onto Christina's Way. You will then see the sweet garden
shed, the fenced in gardens, and apple tree (yes the children or you are welcome to come and pick vegetables for dinner!) As you drive slowly down the winding half mile path that will enfold and welcome you, we imagine you will anticipate the house and environs you have chosen for your vacation, reunion, celebration, wedding or romantic week for two.
Built in 2006 our luxurious lakeside camp consists of one adirondack style cedar shingle home and two cozy cabins. Privacy for all. You will enter the main house onto an 1,200sq/ft screened in porch with an outdoor stone fire place, pingpong, handcrafted pine harvest table that seats fourteen. French doors afford access into every room and can be left open to feel the Maine breezes. The great room in the center of the house hosts a magnificent indoor stone fireplace, multiple couches and handcrafted game table. For the chef in you the large chef’s kitchen fully appointed with huge 60" Wolf oven, 42" new steel Kitchen Aid refrigerator for all your beautiful Maine produce and an original Monson slate farm troth sink will bring smiles as you and your family or friends create meals overlooking the lake and listening to the loons. Each bedroom has it’s own private bath. Each bedroom and cabin has a private screened porch with lake views. The furniture throughout the house was handmade by local carpenters and artisans.
The Love Shack and Loft House each consist of their own screened in porch, propane gas fireplace, kitchenette, sitting area, full bath and views of the lake. The Loft House Cabin has a Queen Bedroom and Loft upstairs with twin beds. The Love Shack Cabin has a Queen Bedroom (magnificent views of the lake) and a Bunk Bedded room with X large Bunk beds).
The property sits on 100 private wooded acres and 3,000 ft of water frontage, ripe for exploring. The grounds boast hidden hammocks to swing on and sway in the waterfront breezes and read. There is a large outdoor stone fire grill for barbecues and picnic tables. The waterfront has a large dock, lounge chairs, 4 kayaks, a canoe, two paddle boards (new!) and a row boat/little sail boat. Perfect for swimming, boating, or fishing!
You can walk or run the 6 mile loop in the morning before jumping into the pristine water that has no motor boats and swim to your hearts content.
The property is solar powered and we ask renters to be mindful of conservation.
It can comfortably sleep 14 (perfect for a family reunion) while promising everyone privacy and yet is also cozy enough for an individual couple’s retreat.
If you ever want to leave the camp you can be in Camden or Belfast in under 15 minutes and enjoy the natural beauty of the Maine Coast or the wonderful shops, farm market, sailing and restaurants along Route 1.
We built this camp as our family’s sanctuary, but we do like to share it on a limited basis with people who would also respect and appreciate it.
*There is a newly built exterior pizza oven for those who know how to use it, with permission can be used to make pizza or bread etc.

I am a chef and designer. I have two children and three brand new grand babies! I tend to my farm, and am dedicated to issues of Global Security, the environment and protection of children and animals. My friends and family are the world to me. This is our third season renting our home and we have met the most beautiful wonderful families from around the world who come and celebrate milestone events and have family reunions...and it is my absolute joy to have our home available for these milestone celebrations...if my walls could talk they'd be very happy!
The Owner purchased this estate in 2006
There is a magical story behind my acquisition of the land the house is built on. Let's just say that childhood dreams come true if you never let the dream go.
The lake has never had a motor boat on it, it's pristine and so tranquil and quiet, swimming from end to end, kayaking at sunrise or sunset, paddle boarding, fishing the bass, it is unusual because it's so private and secluded, it feels like time stands still here. A half mile private driveway, large vegetable and herb gardens to pick from. Private spaces and communal spaces so that everyone can enjoy their vacation in their own way. Yoga set up for four people.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family.
We enjoyed your special slice of heaven on earth...
We were able to watch our families interact with laughter and tears,
Fearless moments jumping off the "Kids Floating Island".
Confidence was built and relationships strengthened.
Knees were skinned and legs bruised.
A half marathon was raced and many miles were hiked and jogged.
We caught fish and were pampered in the spas.
And we ate, and ate, and ate some more...
Food prepared by others, food prepared together, and creative
leftover original recipes were tried.
Thank you for being willing to let us use your home to make new memories for our family.
We come every February for the U.S. National Toboggan Championships in nearby Camden, Maine. Part of our tradition for this annual trip is to stay at the Lake House. Christina is fabulous to work with, the house is gorgeous, and the grounds are phenomenal. What more could we ask for?
Christina is a pleasure. She is responsive to our requests and goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We like to explore outside … the snowshoes at the house are ready to go. We love having a big fire every evening … a huge stack of wood is just waiting to be used. A winter storm knocks out cable/internet in the area … Christina makes bunches of calls to get things sorted out. Plus, she’s an enthusiastic cheerleader for our toboggan teams ☺
We try to describe the Lake House to first-time toboganners but words don’t really do it justice. Here are some of the highlights:
-The house is very clean and organized while also feeling completely homey.
-We can comfortably fit lots of people. Three bedrooms each have a queen bed, there’s a nook area with a twin bed, and two huge (comfy!) sofas in the living room make for great sleeping spots. The house has 3 ½ bathrooms.
-The kitchen is a chef’s dream: huge, well stocked, and well designed.
-We spend most of our time in the living area, with the aforementioned (awesome) couches and a huge fireplace.
-The house’s linens are all professionally cleaned. Washer and dryer are available if you need them for your personal use.
-The cellar holds all kinds of equipment for outdoor activities.
-You’ll find beautiful, rustic, and personal fine touches all over the house.
-We also really appreciate the green aspects of the house, including solar power and recycling facilities.
-I can’t comment on the smaller cabins because they are closed during the winter.
We’ve never been to the Lake House during the summer, but can attest that it’s awesome in the winter. There is SO MUCH SNOW and the secluded lake right behind the house is frozen over. You can spend hours and hours outside, especially with snowshoes or cross-country skis. Walk out over the lake and check out the woods – it’s the definition of serenity.
The surrounding roads in the winter are like the rest of the local rounds in Maine in winter. The locals have trucks and SUVs and 4-wheel drive vehicles but we were okay with our dinky sedans and some winter weather driving know-how.
It's rare that you look at photos of a place where you plan to stay which look so perfect and that your real life experience exceeds the glossy pictures! Christina's class and style resonate all over this magnificent property with every attention to detail.
Waking up to the lake and its magnificent surrounds reminded me of so many movie scenes of that perfect retreat where you just want to contemplate life.
We were a group of 10 who came together from as far as Australia, Germany and Israel to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was during the fall so this too made it special. I don't doubt however that every season would make the stay memorable for the surrounding walks, hikes, adventures and neighbouring restaurants as well as the nearby beauty of Belfast and Camden.
Some of my favourite time was spent kayaking on the lake; sitting by the fire place in warm discussions as well as the home cooked meals made with a combination of the hand picked vegetables from the onsite organic farm, magnificent kitchen and the famous Maine Lobster (there is nothing better!).
Our stay will always be memorable as an experience overall and for my birthday dinner on the porch with the fire going in a rare and warm atmosphere consistent so much with this special property.
It is with great pleasure that I recommend this secluded and exclusive getaway. Thank you Christina for allowing us and others this wonderful experience. Like you, it is very special.
My family and I had such an amazing time here. We were at first hesitant about the price, but after spending a week here last summer, I would have paid more. It is a secluded camp with lodge characteristics, but all the luxurious modern amenities we have all grown accustomed to having. It was so cozy for my large family and everyone had a bed to sleep in. We thought we would go on many day trips, but everything we needed/wanted was right there. Big breakfasts on the screened on porch, kayaking on the water, lobster bake for dinner and s'mores under the stars. I hope to make this place my annual vacation destination. A perfect getaway for large families with something for everyone.
We had our wedding at Well-Fed Farm in October of 2013. We stayed there for 5 days with our friends and family, including our pup. The home, setting and hospitality of the owner and her helpers could not have been more perfect -- everything so far exceeded our highest expectations. The main home and cabins are beautiful - so well appointed, creatively and artistically furnished and decorated, and comfortable. And such wonderful design and architecture. The best of casual elegance and comfort. Multiple fire places, comfy couches, a 1200 sq. foot porch, art abounding, magnificent views from inside the house, a chef's kitchen, creative and artistic furnishing that I wanted to bring home... you will never want to leave the house.
Once you do step outside, you will never want to leave the property. The setting is nature in its full glory. 100+ acres of forest on a pristine lake. Softly rolling hills. Beautiful black rocks contrasting with emerald green grass. Surrounded by a thick forest. The beauty and smell of fall leaves. A small working farm of flowers and vegetables, that the kind owner made available to us for our bouquets and our banquet. The owner, Christina, even ordered up a full moon rise over the lake for the last night of our stay. Inland and close enough to coastal Maine to enjoy the best of both worlds. (and do investigate the location -- really close to Belfast, Camden and lots of great towns)
And we are saving the best for last. The owner herself - Christina - who so lovingly and caringly created her home and farm which she shares; so lovingly and skillfully prepared our wedding feast; so generously shared her knowledge and contacts to help us plan for our wedding; and so graciously shopped for us and gave us all kinds of support and advice prior to our arrival and during our stay. Both Christina and her friend and helper, Zona, helped us prior to and during our stay and wedding - they are both wonderful, kind and generous people who made our wedding and trip so very special. And Christina's dogs were an added bonus; they were an important part of our stay (she brought them over at our invitation), and we loved them too.
If there were more than 5, stars, we would give them to what must be the best place to stay in Maine.
Thank you, Christina, for sharing so much with us and making this one of the most special times of our lives.
Shellye and Tina (and Elvis too)
