The hand painted sign saying Well Fed Farm will cue you to the turn onto Christina's Way. You will then see the sweet garden
shed, the fenced in gardens, and apple tree (yes the children or you are welcome to come and pick vegetables for dinner!) As you drive slowly down the winding half mile path that will enfold and welcome you, we imagine you will anticipate the house and environs you have chosen for your vacation, reunion, celebration, wedding or romantic week for two.
Built in 2006 our luxurious lakeside camp consists of one adirondack style cedar shingle home and two cozy cabins. Privacy for all. You will enter the main house onto an 1,200sq/ft screened in porch with an outdoor stone fire place, pingpong, handcrafted pine harvest table that seats fourteen. French doors afford access into every room and can be left open to feel the Maine breezes. The great room in the center of the house hosts a magnificent indoor stone fireplace, multiple couches and handcrafted game table. For the chef in you the large chef’s kitchen fully appointed with huge 60" Wolf oven, 42" new steel Kitchen Aid refrigerator for all your beautiful Maine produce and an original Monson slate farm troth sink will bring smiles as you and your family or friends create meals overlooking the lake and listening to the loons. Each bedroom has it’s own private bath. Each bedroom and cabin has a private screened porch with lake views. The furniture throughout the house was handmade by local carpenters and artisans.
The Love Shack and Loft House each consist of their own screened in porch, propane gas fireplace, kitchenette, sitting area, full bath and views of the lake. The Loft House Cabin has a Queen Bedroom and Loft upstairs with twin beds. The Love Shack Cabin has a Queen Bedroom (magnificent views of the lake) and a Bunk Bedded room with X large Bunk beds).
The property sits on 100 private wooded acres and 3,000 ft of water frontage, ripe for exploring. The grounds boast hidden hammocks to swing on and sway in the waterfront breezes and read. There is a large outdoor stone fire grill for barbecues and picnic tables. The waterfront has a large dock, lounge chairs, 4 kayaks, a canoe, two paddle boards (new!) and a row boat/little sail boat. Perfect for swimming, boating, or fishing!
You can walk or run the 6 mile loop in the morning before jumping into the pristine water that has no motor boats and swim to your hearts content.
The property is solar powered and we ask renters to be mindful of conservation.
It can comfortably sleep 14 (perfect for a family reunion) while promising everyone privacy and yet is also cozy enough for an individual couple’s retreat.
If you ever want to leave the camp you can be in Camden or Belfast in under 15 minutes and enjoy the natural beauty of the Maine Coast or the wonderful shops, farm market, sailing and restaurants along Route 1.
We built this camp as our family’s sanctuary, but we do like to share it on a limited basis with people who would also respect and appreciate it.
*There is a newly built exterior pizza oven for those who know how to use it, with permission can be used to make pizza or bread etc.

I am a chef and designer. I have two children and three brand new grand babies! I tend to my farm, and am dedicated to issues of Global Security, the environment and protection of children and animals. My friends and family are the world to me. This is our third season renting our home and we have met the most beautiful wonderful families from around the world who come and celebrate milestone events and have family reunions...and it is my absolute joy to have our home available for these milestone celebrations...if my walls could talk they'd be very happy!
The Owner purchased this estate in 2006
There is a magical story behind my acquisition of the land the house is built on. Let's just say that childhood dreams come true if you never let the dream go.
The lake has never had a motor boat on it, it's pristine and so tranquil and quiet, swimming from end to end, kayaking at sunrise or sunset, paddle boarding, fishing the bass, it is unusual because it's so private and secluded, it feels like time stands still here. A half mile private driveway, large vegetable and herb gardens to pick from. Private spaces and communal spaces so that everyone can enjoy their vacation in their own way. Yoga set up for four people.
For our 50th Anniversary, we wanted to take our children and grandchildren to our favorite part of the world, Mid-Coast Maine. We were so fortunate that Christina's beautiful home was available for our party of 14- 8 adults and 6 children.
The house is perfect for a family gathering, with a huge porch facing the lake, a very large kitchen/family room and large areas outside (with picnic tables). We were happily gathered in them all! The kitchen is very modern, with every possible cooking tool you could want - even a pasta maker! For our 50th dinner, a caterer (Coastal Critters) provided a Lobster/clambake which we ate on the beautful porch, all of us fitting comfortably at the large table. A beautiful feast with a beautiful view of an almost-full moon!
The 2 smaller cabins were so comfortable and perfect for the two families with 2 children each. They also had a screened porch and view of the woods and lake, a small kitchen and two bedrooms. The children fell into those beds exhausted from a day of laughter, exploring the woods, catching frogs, kayaking and playing chess on the beautiful game table in the main house.
The adults were so relaxed and happy to be together in such a beautiful place. Much hiking, canoeing and exploring added to the joy of seeing the children so happy to be with their cousins and safely roaming the woods. The nighttime fires in the fireplace and outdoor fire pit were just wonderful times of family storytelling and laughter and just delight to be together uninterrupted!
What a wonderful place for suburban Chicago children to see and explore a woods on a lake with every possible thing you could want (paddle boards, kayaks, row boat, canoe, life jackets, fishing poles). There is also a closet full of games and puzzles if it should rain!
Christina is a wonderful person to deal with. She answers questions and gives you full information in the most warm and welcoming manner possible.
Thank you for providing a place for such warm memories, Christina! The children are all trying to talk us into making this a yearly event!
For all those that have always wanted a home away from home or camp to call there own Christina's way is it. As my then fiance and I were about to get married Christina was more than accomodating in letting us host our wedding party at her house. The modern kitchen allowed us to craft gourmet meals and the screened in fireplace allowed us to snuggle in front of the fire and sip on coffee in the morning or cocktails with family in the evening. The dock was well suited to entertain nighttime stargazing or daytime paddling or swimming. The best part were the rustically created and well decorated cabins that allowed family to have space yet promote togetherness during meals. Even my father in law who hadn't left his house in over 15 years to travel aside from hunting remarked, " This place is gorgeous, we should make visiting here a tradition!" It is with that in mind that we do hope to come again. Thanks Christina for accomodating us and letting us show apart of the state we love with our family.
As the summer was winding down, my husband, 2 year old daughter, and I longed to get out of New York, climb a tree, and feel the water. Well Fed Farm provided just what we needed to reconnect and remember who we are. We vacationed with other families and their children and it was perfect. Communal breakfasts and dinners-- card games after the kids were down. A day of helping to watch the kids and alternate massages. Yoga, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, digging carrots, munching on cucumbers straight from the vine. The memory of this trip is a gift that we will talk about and lean on the rest of the year. Don't miss an opportunity to stay here.
Nothing less than 5 stars will do for this wonderful vacation home. It was the perfect place to bring my entire family for a fun filled week in Maine. We had babies, toddlers and teenagers and there was something for everyone. The location is perfect. Remote yet close to so many wonderful towns in Maine. The best part of the home besides, the lake and privacy was the amazing porch. We basically lived on that porch. The seating is so comfortable and the dining table easily accommodated the whole gang. The stone fireplace is beautiful - it was just too hot to light a fire this week. but I can imagine sitting by the fire on a cool fall evening. Many of our meals included fresh veggies and herbs from the home's own garden. And of course our Lobster dinner was cooked right on the large brick firepit outside along with smores for the grandchildren afterwards. My son-in-law is a professional chef and he said cooking in this home was a pleasure. The children loved that they could go down and fish every morning, and the kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards were constantly in use. I spent my mornings sitting on the dock to watch the beautiful sunrises.
The caretakers were so accommodating and the home was spotless when we arrived. And the owner, Christina, couldn't have been nicer. Although I never met her, all our communications were so pleasant. She just made us feel so welcomed and at home and her personality was quite evident in the fun décor of this special home.
I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a special place for a family or group gathering. Besides the 3 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths in the main house, there's the two cottages with their own bathrooms, living room and screened porch. (those each sleep 4 easily!)
We would definitely go back again!

Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family.
We enjoyed your special slice of heaven on earth...
We were able to watch our families interact with laughter and tears,
Fearless moments jumping off the "Kids Floating Island".
Confidence was built and relationships strengthened.
Knees were skinned and legs bruised.
A half marathon was raced and many miles were hiked and jogged.
We caught fish and were pampered in the spas.
And we ate, and ate, and ate some more...
Food prepared by others, food prepared together, and creative
leftover original recipes were tried.
Thank you for being willing to let us use your home to make new memories for our family.
