Local beaches are within walking distance, and Provincetown is 10 minutes by car, and there is also local shuttle bus. This area is wonderful for bicyclists. The Cape Cod National Seashore has beautiful hiking as well as awe-inspiring bike trails.
You can walk to the beach...the beach is about a 10 minute (easy) walk -that's to the bayside, where the water is warmer, no waves, sandbars for the kids to play...very very calm water and the sunset side of the Cape.
You can walk to the beach...the beach is about a 10 minute (easy) walk -that's to the bayside, where the water is warmer, no waves, sandbars for the kids to play...usually very very calm water and the sunset side of the Cape (one of the few places you can see the sunset on the East Coast.)
You can get weekly beach stickers for the Town of Truro beaches, and access the National Seashore by a day or annual parking fee. The outer beach is the ocean beach - a 5 - 10 minute drive (if you go to the local beach in Truro - but there are MANY beautiful beaches in the area - we're right in the middle of the Cape Cod National Seashore); at the Ocean beach - you and the kids can boogie board, body surf or actually go surfing if the waves are big enough. the water is colder, but since you're usually more active on that side - you don't notice the temperature as much. Sometimes we bounce back and forth from the ocean beach to the bay beach.
There are also many historic places, for example: the actual location where the Pilgrims first landed in America, the first spring where the Pilgrims found fresh water, the spot where the Pilgrims encountered the Native Americans.
We also have whale watching, fishing, golf, surfing, boogie boarding, hiking, biking, yoga, massage, day spas and many activities in the local area.
We moved to the Truro/Provincetown area back in 1999 because we felt it would be a fantastic place to raise our son. Time flies - with our son recently graduating college, we decided to rent our house out as a vacation rental.
EM Golden purchased this house in 1999
So many wonderful things about our house and my favorite: each bedroom is a private haven as none of the bedrooms have adjoining walls with each other. Even when you're with a large group - you (or your kids, parents, siblings, friends, etc.) can relax in your own space. It's also just a short walk to the beach and around the neighborhood which includes a beautiful pond with many birds. And, there's always the beautiful sunset across the bay to Provincetown.
When we first saw this home in 1999, we knew it was the perfect place for a family living on Cape Cod (or vacationing!) - close to Ptown and Wellfleet - but not in the town - and, you can walk to the beach, see the sunsets, be minutes from the beautiful dunes and Atlantic beaches of the National Seashore - while having privacy back at the house - and so many other great things.
Great property to enjoy the outer Cape! Plenty of room, great layout and wonderful outdoor spaces- yard, decks. Kitchen was very well equipped and had everything our group needed to whip up wonderful meals. The house was uber clean and had a great vibe- we all loved it! We were a party of 8 adults and a 1 year old- every couple had their own room and bathroom- perfect! Minutes to Cold Storage beach- we had a fantastic time! Thank you Erin!
We loved the house and felt right at home. It was well stocked and very comfortable. The owners were wonderful!!! It was conveniently located. The bay beach is a bit of a hike, but the walk was very "doable." We spend most of our time at the Head of the Meadow which was a quick drive away. We highly recommend this home!!!!! We had a variety of family and friends visiting and everyone enjoyed themselfs and liked the home.
