This beautiful period building is in a perfect location, and the views over London roof tops are amazing. Cambridge Circus for those traveling to London for theater, clubs, restaurants, and clubs is the center of the world. A stroll from Cambridge Circus down Shaftesbury Avenue to Piccadilly Circus is one of the most exciting walks in London; you will pass ten theaters with some of London's most exciting plays. Trafalgar Square is a ten-minute walk, and the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey are an easy walk. The National Gallery and St. Martin-in-the-Fields are close by and will offer exhibitions and concerts unequalled in London. Six of every ten visitors choose to stay in this district of the city. The Palace Theater is also on Cambridge Circus. The one bedroom apartment has just been redone to a very comfortable standard. Because the apartment is located in a very active part of London, the windows have been covered with double glazing so the flat is quiet and comfortable. The living room has comfortable furnishings with a sofa bed which can be used by an additional visitor if occasionally required. There is excellent lighting and a flat screen TV. The double bedroom has a king size bed which can be changed into two twins, good storage. The bathroom has a shower over the tub, wash hand basin, and loo. The kitchen has all machines including washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven and hob, and fridge/freezer. This is an excellent accommodation and perfect for visiting London when considering location, budget, and standard. For two persons (third person on a sofa bed) it is perfect. The flat offers telephone and Internet service. The flat is on the 4th floor with a lift to the apartment. Very, very nice accommodation. If you are traveling in a large group, there is a two bedroom flat, another one bedroom flat in this same building. So, 8 people traveling together can stay in the same building, and that is a wonderful possibility for families traveling together. Very nice option.
5 night minimum for most reservations. 3 nights considered within 30 days of arrival.
We enjoyed our November stay so much that we booked another trip for March. The property was very clean and homey. We have spent alot of time in London and this location is excellent for anyone who is interested in attending the theatre and living in the theatre area. There are lots of restaurants and pubs nearby. Local transportation is right out your door.
We are back now from our fabulous holiday to France and England and of course I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the flat!! It was just so perfect for us, and of the four times we have rented flats from London Connection over the years, this one is our favorite so far! Everything about it, the location in central London, the layout/interior of the flat, the fabulous kitchen, modern bathroom, and the large living and bedroom spaces - all were perfect! After a week of living in hotels in Normandy, it was so nice to unpack everything into the spacious closet and not have look at our suitcases again until it was time to leave the flat a week later :) We saw six theatre shows in four days, so the flat's ideal location in the Theatre District was perfect - we walked everywhere, and no walk was farther than 10-15 minutes. We were blessed with perfect weather, too, so that made the whole stay even more lovely. We splurged on dinner twice at The Ivy (at the dining bar --it was lovely!) and even caught a daytrip up to Liverpool. We will definitely use London Connections again the next time we visit London.
We stayed in this flat for a week in February. The location is excellent, an easy walk to Piccadilly, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square discount theatre tickets booth, West End, Chinatown, etc. The flat itself was comfortable for the two of us.
The only problem was that it was on the 4th floor, equivalent to the 5th floor in the US, and the lift didn't work the whole time we were there.
When we arrived on Friday afternoon, the manager put the luggage in the lift and asked if we could walk up, since he was not sure the lift was operating properly. He thought it would be repaired in the next day or two. On Monday, he said that it required parts which they did not have on the weekend. When it was not fixed by Tuesday, I was sure it would not be fixed for our entire stay, and I e-mailed Mr. Moore at the home office in Utah. I was told that we had been given the choice of moving, which we had not. By that point, it was no longer worth moving
We are in our 60s and both have health problems, and those 82 steps up and down were not easy. It affected our activities and was a major inconvenience.
I had turned down several other less expensive flats on 1st or 2nd floors of buildings with no lifts. After our return to the US, I called and e-mailed Mr. Moore in Utah, requesting a partial refund. Instead we were given a credit for a future stay, which will very likely be worthless for us.
Just returned from our stay and felt I needed to add a comment to the others to be sure potential guests are prepared. I wish I had paid closer attention to the mention of street noise because I had a great deal of difficulty sleeping here even with earplugs. This is indeed a nice flat in an ideal location for walking and visiting the city but it overlooks an eight-way intersection and the honking, sirens, and especially the motorcycle noise continues throughout the night. I wish I had picked a flat on a quieter side street. I agree with the other reviewers about hiring the driver from the airport. David was friendly and helpful and it was money well spent on the morning of my groggy arrival. I would not have enjoyed trying to find this place from the underground station on my own that first morning. I also appreciated that he coordinated my arrival at the flat with the manager, Ricardo, who met us there and got me settled in nicely. As I said, everything was as advertised - including the street noise - but because it was much more of a problem for me than I have experienced in other big city stays, I wanted to alert other visitors.
We had a great time in London and enjoyed the apartment very much. For what we needed it was perfect! It was also excellent for us that we could stay a bit longer on the day we left so that we didn’t have to worry about the luggage while enjoying the city before leaving to the airport early evening.
We could recommend both Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant around the corner and Busaba restaurant on 35 Panton Street, which were both near by and great. (of course you have so many other great places to eat around) and endless stores to enjoy.
Many thanks. We’ll be back!
This newly renovated apartment was perfect for us. The description is accurate. We loved being in Cambridge Circus. We were able to walk nearly everywhere and it is also convenient to several tube stations and buses. It really is in the center of the best place to stay in London. We enjoyed the proximity to theatres, restaurants and Chinatown. We were grateful for the double glazed windows in the bedroom -- they worked well and we were not bothered by noise outside at night. The wifi also worked well. The apartment was clean and in excellent condition. We would definitely choose to stay here the next time we visit London.
This flat on Shaftesbury Ave was a great place to stay on our first trip to London. It's central location (in the middle of the theatre district) enabled us to walk just about everywhere. We came prepared for the noise of the busy streets. We brought earplugs and there are actually dual windows in the flat so the noise really wasn't all that bad. The location was definitely worth the trade off for us. The flat is exactly as pictured. Lots of updates and very clean. We used their driver to pick us up from the airport and were really glad we did. He was very friendly and gave us lots of ideas about how to spend our days in London. From this flat we were able to walk to the British Museum, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Westminster Abbey, the Eye, Buckingham Palace, and any show in town. The neighborhood has everything you need: market, coffee shops, pubs, and a bank right across the street to exchange money.
Renting this flat was smooth and easy. We came during the busy summer tourist season and thought the price was quite reasonable. If we return to London we would definitely use London Connection again.
