I manage the Sandbar Beach House for the owner, Michael McVearry. He lives in the bed and breakfast in front of this house, though I do not. I've lived on the Outer Banks for many years and have made my living in the service industry my entire life. Because of this, I am able to offer guests a wealth of information about the area. I think of the Sandbar as a home away from home for our guests. I look forward to hearing from you!

Agree with above review completely. Stayed in June and all the things previous review complained about are still not repaired. The pictures on the website are old and the whole place is in need of upkeep. Not the cleanest and the grounds look like they have not been taken care of for quite some time.
I booked this house for myself and my office staff for a weekend guys trip. The house is advertised to have certain amenities that are not as listed. Pool table (it's a child size "toy" pool table). Ping Pong table (no net). Foosball table (broken). Slot Machine (doesn't work). Cable TV, NOPE, cable didn't work at all. Wi-Fi, another NO. I notified the manager that the house didn't have darts (as listed), foosball table broken, no net for the ping pong table. The next thing I know the owner of the house shows up, stinking heavily of bourbon, and notified me that those were not legitimate complaints. He appeared to be heavily intoxicated and ranted and raved that I complained about that stuff, that I should have left a comment card so it could be corrected for the next tenant. The next day I notified them about the cable/wi-fi situation. Owner asked if the cable company could call ME when they could get out and fix it. It never was fixed. Now, more about the house. Shower STALLS in the master bedroom and downstairs bathroom are VERY SMALL, you can't turn around in them. The faucet handles in all of the bathrooms were loose enough that you had to hold them in one hand while attempting to turn on the water in the sink. Several of the entrance ways have rotten wood sagging from the top from apparent water damage, never fixed. Mattresses are of very poor quality and obviously very old. Beds creak and squeak with every move, too. The TV in all of the bedrooms is the size of a small computer monitor. Didn't really matter because the cable didn't work any way. May the renter beware!
