Bonfield Manor is located at the entrance of Oxford, a half mile walk or bike ride to restaurants, shops and the Riverview Ave beach. The waterfront property offers a 12 acre park like setting, fabulous views and access to Boone Creek and the Choptank at its confluence into the Chesapeake Bay. Bonfield Manor and its plantation buildings were established in 1771-73. The original Georgian manor burnt down in 1927 and was replaced by an elegant lodge built on the original mound (and colonial basement kitchen). With two master bedroom suites on the ground floor, two queen size bedrooms and 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds each on the second floor Bonfield Manor can accommodate 8-12 people. The 12 acre property with its shaded outdoor patio, swimming pool, large dock and extensive grounds provides both privacy, time to relax and an extensive playground for young and old. Fishing, crabbing, canoeing and swimming are at your finger tips as are games, TV, WI-Fi, piano and books for in-door entertainment. Oxford is at your footsteps, St Michaels a ferry trip away and Easton a 15 minutes drive.

With children grown and heavy travel commitments, we would like to share this special historic property with others who are looking for a short-term 'get-away' or vacation rental. Sports & Adventure Activities
This was our 3rd visit to Bonfield Manor and our family had another terrific week. We made great use of the provided canoes and kayaks paddling out to the sandbar several times. There are bikes and helmets available for guests' use, and of course our 5 grandchildren and adults throughly enjoyed the pool and swimming off the dock. There is plenty of seating and umbrellas for comfort and shade. The house is charming with plenty of room for family gatherings as well as places to curl up and read a good book. Marianne and the caretaker, Chris, are responsive to communication and go out of their way to ensure guests have a memorable stay. If you're looking for a special/unique place for your family, you will be glad you rented Bonfield Manor.
Elegant, Relaxing Estate with Pool
Outstanding property. All amenities included and of the highest quality. This is our 5th family vacation rental (grandparents, kids and spouses and 4 grandchildren) and it was the BEST by far. House was spotless on arrival, caretaker was present but not hovering. House is elegant yet comfortable. Grounds are impressive.
The home is beautiful, charming, well maintained. We fished from the pier, paddled out into the sunset with kayaks, played volleyball and badminton. The pool was refreshing.Rode bikes into town. This was the perfect vacation in an incredible home on the water. I would recommend it highly.
We had a fantastic time. Can't wait to book this place again.
Fantastic home for family outing
My family enjoyed staying here. This is a lovely home in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.
We have now been going to Bonfield Manor for 4 years. We love it and plan to keep coming back. The property is ideal - right on the water with a great dock and canoes and kayacks to use on the still and extensive waterways. Bikes a plenty to use to ride into town and all around the beautiful back roads. The house is older but wonderful - great character, clean, well cared for and well appointed. The smallest of requests or questions are quickly answered by the groundskeeper. We were not missing a thing and always have a wonderful carefree stay. I highly recommend this place (but please don't take our time!!)
Oxford founded in 1694 is located at the mouth of the Tred Avon River as one of Maryland's oldest town and important shipping center during Colonial Days. Today, it is a picturesque town that Yachting Magazine called 'one of the world's best waterfront towns'. Visitors enjoy the historic Robert Morris Inn, the Bellevue Ferry to St Michaels, attractive restaurants, several bustling marinas, and an active yacht club and museum. Whether walking or taking a bike ride, the well-kept houses and gardens along tree-lined streets offer a wonderful backdrop for a relaxing week-end or vacation. The historical towns of St Michaels and Easton are just 15 minutes away by car and offer further attractions and entertainment.
