This studio apartment is located in Silver City's historic district. It is part of a large home built in the very early 1900's by a local doctor who later divided and enlarged the house to accommodate relatives in different units. There are two short term studios on the property. The apartment has recently been completely refurbished. It has it's own entry and is completely furnished and stocked with everything you will need during your stay. It also has a private courtyard with a gas grill. It is centrally located and a great little place if you enjoy all of the amenities of a hotel suite in a more private setting.
Keywords: Sweet little apartment in a great area, close to downtown, hiking trails, university, coffee shops, shopping and county offices.
We purchased this place as an investment property. After renting out and refurbishing the units one by one we decided to make one short term so visitors have more choices in lodging.
This unit is in a great location, walking distance to hiking trails, the University, historic downtown and arts district which also includes several great restaurants and a diverse nightlife.
WOW! The studio was such a great find for the time that I spent in Silver! Downtown is just around the corner plus the neighbor hood around it isn't so bad either. I stayed for about two and a half months and never had a problem. Lisa was very helpful and willing to help you out in times of need. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. The Little Toad Creek was one of my favorite drinking and eating spots!
This is just how the pictures look and its a few blocks from the main strip with fun shops and lots of good coffee shops(Three Dogs is awesome!). Its also easy walking distance (through a sweet neighborhood of diverse styles of houses) to the University. Hop in your car and you can be seeing scenic mountains and hiking in amazing places in the Gila wilderness.
Very private and quiet and comfortable...a good value....I recommend it!
We have stayed before at the Gallery 400 / Gila House and liked it ($90-ish). We have stayed with friends and liked it (free). We have stayed at the Econolodge and hated it ($60+).
Now, this spot just blocks up from my favorite coffee shop. It's almost too good to be true, though the space is quite limited. For one or two people it is perfect - like a "big" hotel room but with a full kitchen and your own dedicated parking space.
Amenities are more than you'd expect - coffee pot and ground coffee, bottled water as a guest greeting with fresh fruit, and available wifi.
Overall, great experience and will be back!
Highly recommended for single travelers or couples. Small but very well equipped and maintained. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood just a short walk from downtown Silver City. Close to restaurants and about five coffee shops. Has a private parking space and is very reasonably priced. Good base for visiting the Gila Cliff Dwellings, the Catwalk, Mogollon and City of Rocks. Owner available and very helpful but offers lots of privacy if that's your preference.
Coming to Silver City, NM was for the sake of work and work is 12 hour days. No vacation here. In the case of vacations and only a few days.....a cheap hotel is just fine. Since this was not the case and I needed more space, A/C, a real kitchen so I don't end up eating out every night AND a place that fit into the budget of what work would pay for..........this was just the place! An added bonus?!?! Close to town, but far enough out to not hear the traffic of cars and people. This place is completely brand new; even the towels are new! The bathroom was stocked with more than a hotel gives as far as soaps and goodies; I was provided a great little gift basket of bananas, water, gatorade and chocolates; DVD's to watch, a small dining table, coffee maker........this place was more than I expected to have. The sheets smelled fresh from the washer and dryer, the pillows and comforter fluffy, closets and dresser to utilize, WiFi and cord to hookup the internet, all kitchen supplies necessary to cook and bake, A/C, secure locking door, outdoor area for sitting, 6 blocks from historic down town................how far can I go???? All in all, it's clean, cozy and comfortable. You won't go wrong. For the price, location, amenities and quaintness.....this is a fine choice of lodging.
