Guestbook comments from the owner

one of the most beautiful vacation spots i have visited in years. I'm a big fan of the wine tours and let me tell you this is close to some of the areas finest. If you are a follower of racing, this is the place for you. The lake view is second to none and we plan on visiting here for years to come.

Great place for a "girls'" weekend!

  • 4 of 5

My four friends and I stayed here this past weekend. The house was just right for our needs - comfortable, especially the living room which had a really comfy couch and recliner chair. It was too chilly to make use of the deck, but beautiful to look at - and must be really nice during warm weather. Bathrooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable. Trash had been taken out prior to our stay, so that wasn't an issue. There were some bees getting into one of the back bedrooms, and we couldn't figure out how. Luckily there was a can of bee/wasp spray which we made use of. I'd say we killed 10-12 over the weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of pots, pans, cutlery, utensils, etc. The light over the sink was out, which made it a bit dark in there when we were preparing food. BTW, wifi instructions are framed and on the wall in the living room. I'm not sure everyone would know right away to look on the wall for this information. The location is definitely good for places in the area to visit.

We rented this home for a wedding we were attending. The wedding ended up being right down street. That was great. I saw another post about broken fan in living room. It was still broke when we arrived. When I read about this place it said it had air. Which makes you think central air. Not so and wish I knew that ahead of time. There a window air conditioner in one bedroom and one in kitchen. There was one portable fan and ceiling fans in all rooms. Two ceiling fans in living room and was broke and has not been fixed even though another review said it was broke as well. Could have used it because this was a hot hot weekend. The trash had not been emptyed yet. Told owner and she was working on it but the worst one that smelled and was attracting flys never did get dumped. Those were my cons about this homes and why I only gave four stars actually should have given three but gave four because of:

Great location extremely clean and comfy beds. The deck was nice and sunsets and time spent with my family. ..priceless. kitchen was big and again very clean. There were no bugs and again extremely clean. We had a great time. Would I stay there again YES I would. Would I recommend to others yes.

But please fix fan in living room and put air conditioner in both back bedrooms

Great location

  • 4 of 5

Close to Geneva is a big plus. Level lot. No steps to house! Great yard, only a few steps to a terrific deck. Fire pit, gas grill. Nice kitchen and dining area.

A/C in only 1 bedroom and kitchen is not good for summer. Broken ceiling fan/light. Nice long dock, but no ladder to enter water. Water socks necessary to enter from rocky beach. Not many weeds when we were there.

We rent a house every year, and this house had so many areas where it was the best. Very little money would be required to get this a 5-star rating. Owner was a pleasure to deal with.

Life changing

  • 3 of 5

Beautiful deck and back yard area. We loved using the camp fire ring, the deck every night, the grandchildren loved playing in the water and using the hose. Wonderful accessibility to breweries and our favorite wineries. Wonderful spot to access Geneva, the outlets and Sotus Point! Only a motorcycle ride away from Ithaca and many state parks! We absolutely loved the sunsets and our stay. It was a great a stay for our family and gave everyone an opportunity to get away from the craziness of it all! LOVED staying here! House needs some maintenance such as the ceiling fan didn't work over the main couch area, didn't have instructions for the remote for the fan and light in the living room, refrigerator froze all of my vegetables ('fridge too warm when we arrived, re-set and it froze fresh veggies and eggs), glass table was cracked (we didn't know until walking out of the door and it broke when we placed something on it! Garbage bins full outside and needed empty. Deck is perfect for entertaining but also needs some attention.

One of the best vacations we have had even though there are some small house issues. Even though we found all of these little house issues, the linens were exceptional, house very clean, lots of materials for looking for activities, water was very clean and easy to walk down too. Plenty of room and lots of fun! Great neighbors too! Life changing because we were able to rest and spend quality time with each other. Wifi easily accessible too!

Wonderfully relaxing!

  • 4 of 5

Our family stayed at this scenic summer home on Seneca Lake for 5 wonderful nights. Although the first day was quite warm and one of the ceiling fans didn't work, the rest of the week was great. There was room enough for our family of 7 and dog without crowding. Beds were comfortable and the linens were abundant. There was plenty of dishes and cookware for larger meals. The grocery store was close by and we enjoyed a movie at the local cinema on a rainy morning. The wineries were too numerous to count! We spent the majority of our time by the water (didn't even boat) and had memorable campfires every night. The house itself could use some maintenance and updating, but it was quite easy to overlook when we had the gorgeous nature out of the family room door.
