High atop a granite ledge, this contemporary home offers excellent views of the ocean over the treetops. Watch golden sunsets filter through surrounding trees. Spend fun-filled days at soft sand beaches, hike the many conservation trails, or kayak along protected coves and inlets. At the end of the day, relax in the window-filled living room that opens to a large deck. For quieter moments retire to your private deck off the master bedroom and watch afternoon boat races or ship traffic on its way to and from Portland harbor. When not dining at one of the local restaurants, cooking up meals is a breeze in the contemporary kitchen. There are two bathrooms and the bedrooms and loft have plenty of windows that bring in sunshine and cool breezes. Come, relax and enjoy!
57 Small Pt. Rd. is an exceptional vacation home. Denise and Richard provide everything needed to enjoy this unique part of the world.
Thanks for another recuperative week,
Janet, Beth, Samantha, & Tim
With a family of 6, we usually choose a vacation rental over a hotel. We've stayed in over 10 houses all over the country, but this house in Phippsburg tops them all. It's extremely private, architecturally unique, and within free access of four wonderful and different beaches. I can heartily second the reviews which emphasize that everything you think you'll need, and many things you wouldn't hope for (who else leaves you a can of bug spray?), are included in the house. Seriously. We ended up not needing about half the things I had brought "just in case."
The rental includes two vehicle passes for the Maine State Park system (which I had planned to buy) that grant free admission to any Maine state park, including Popham Beach and Reid State Park. Every beach need, from umbrellas to towels, is available in abundance. The kayaks are first rate and were a fun way for my kids to explore.
The multi-level house and three decks (including the roof deck!) let my teens and younger kids find a private space to hang out in, and it was as relaxing hanging out at "home" as it was at the beach. The beaches were so quiet and open, and the views and hiking on the peninsula so lovely, that we scrapped the crowds of Acadia and just did day trips to Reid S.P. on the next peninsula over (Georgetown).
Denise is a lovely, responsive, and conscientious hostess and is a wonderful resource for local activities and points of interest. I have already told several friends about this property and will heartily recommend it to anyone that is considering a Maine vacation.
Very comfortable with lots of extras. They even had kayaks to use and items for small children. The owners were accommodating and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Clean house, good bedding. A very good experience.
Every detail has been considered in this "tree-top" delightful home minutes from Popham Beach. The colors, the gardens, the towels, the condiments...it's the stuff you always hope will be there and sometimes is and sometimes isn't. And rarely is it ALL there in one place! Thank you for making our stay so easy and so fun. The location was perfect as we wanted to explore that part of Maine. We had the delightful experience of 2 foxes playing and then sleeping in the front yard for a good part of the 2nd day we were there. I can't think of one thing we would do to improve this beautiful property.
Stay here if you can....this place is a diamond! We stayed here in late april when the weather was still chilly, and so we go to enjoy the fireplace! The house is located out on Small Point, just minutes from the Popham Beach, and some of the best clam chowder I've had (Spinney's) on the east coast! Totman Cove is a short lovely walk down from the house, through the woods, (Don't miss the labyrinth). And the house is amazing, easily / privately sleeps 8 people, the kitchen has everything you need. Plus Denise is a wonderful host. Seamlessly providing for a great relaxed vacation. She even had an extra toothbrush. This place could be a yearly destination for our family!
The home was exactly as described and was STILL surprisingly even more beautiful! Denise provided everything we needed and the home felt very clean. I would absolutely recommend this vacation home to anyone visiting the area, it is such a great location, near different beaches and restaurants............we enjoyed Spinney's in the area, and in Brunswick, we enjoyed eating @ 'Scarlett Begonias'.
The area was quintessential Maine in a modern, well equipped home.
We realize the bugs come with the territory, but it couldn't dampen our fun!
Thanks for everything, we hope to visit again with my parents in the near future,
White sand beaches, hiking, boating, kayaking, eco touring, lighthouses, charters, restaurants, shopping, museums, art shows, and live theater. Come, relax, and enjoy!
