Why Timothy Bleckley chose North Carolina Mountains

This home was built as our primary residence, but circumstances have caused us to move away temporarily. We built this home ourselves and decorated it for us to live in. With that being said, this home has many personal touches of a resident of WNC that was born and raised just down the road from the cabin. We are excited to share the beauty of Franklin, NC with our guests and assist you in any way to make this a memorable stay.

What makes this cabin unique

Our property is in a quiet location, close to town and many attractions. We have a large hot tub and a surround sound system. The community down the mountain from our home is a peaceful area that is enjoyable to roam.

Great home and a great location!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home with the anticipation that my cousin's family of four would be joining us--so the cabin was a little large for just the two of us, but we made it work. :) The door wasn't locking and someone came up right away to fix it.

The rooms were clean and the house was a perfect location, close to 441 and a ten minute mountain drive to my other family. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub, seeing nearby waterfalls and enjoying brews at the "Lazy Hiker" in Frankin.

Much recommended, this is a great place to stay!

Warm and Cozy Atmosphere

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying st this cabin! It was very clean and had all the kitchen necessities you would want. Even though we went in February, that weekend was warm enough that we sat out on the nice porch and dark our coffee. We had our 18 month old grandson with us and he enjoyed playing out there as well. It felt very private. It was wonderful having the 3 different levels and baths, and the beds were comfortable. After reading reviews about the driveway being steep, I was really concerned, but it was not an issue at all. Now if it had been covered in ice, that might have been different. We will definitely come back to stay because it was a perfect place! The only drawback was the kitchen table which only seats 4. It's a high top table and we found the chairs to be a little uncomfortable. It could use a regular table to seat 6. The extra treat was the farm fresh eggs that were waiting for us!

Cabin was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Timothy's cabin. It had all the amenities we were looking for! The cabin was clean and tidy when we arrived. Location was great, a few miles from most stores and restaurants. We visited The Factory which is a great place to visit if you have kids. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to stay in or around the Franklin, NC area.

We were very happy with our weekend in the mountains of Franklin, NC.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very clean and the amenities were great. My wife and I brought 6 teenagers here for our daughter's sixteenth birthday. They had a blast and having 3 levels in the cabin gave us the separation we needed. Top notch!

Gorgeous Cabin with all the amenities you need.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was gorgeous, decorated beautifully for the holidays. The kitchen is fully stocked with the necessities (cups, plates, bowls, utensils etc) The dishwasher, oven, range and refrigerator were clean and almost like new. The property was great, not too far off the main road but far enough that you will never know it's there. Some of the other reviews mentioned the driveway. It is definitely a little steep but most of it is now paved and we had no problem getting up it (just a little scary if you aren't used to mountain roads). I wouldn't want to bring a motorcycle up it though. The only other minor negative I could give was that the TV's are a little older in case you were planning on bringing playstations/xboxes/firetv etc. They are in good working order and have cable TV just don't have newer HDMI ports (my personal opinion is that a cabin in the woods doesn't need TV but the 4 year-olds traveling with us disagreed.

The owners were excellent and responded to all of our questions very quickly and courteously. We were a little concerned due to the recent wildfires in western NC and eastern TN but they did not affect the Franklin area at all.

The location was great and not too far from attractions like Maggie Valley, Cherokee, and Bryson City. It's very close to Dillsboro as well. There is a few stores and restaurants nearby but you might have a 10-15 minute drive for a full size grocery store (maybe we just went the wrong direction though). We mostly came to take the kids to the Polar Express in Bryson City but we were dissapointed to find out that many of the attractions in Maggie Valley and Cherokee (most notably Wheels through Time Museum and the Santa Land Theme park are closed for the season December through march.

Overall it was a great experience though and far nicer and cheaper than staying in hotels.
