We are a Pennsylvania family who has enjoyed many trips to our Copper Mountain 'Get Away'.
The Owner purchased this condo in 1988
We choose to buy at Copper Mountain before their expansion begun because it offered ' A big ski experience that delivers genuine family appeal', and is very accessible —an hour and a quarter of easy driving west on the interstate from Denver. Copper also boasted a top-notch ski school and daycare facility for little ones. After years of new construction and revamping the” Copper Community” went way beyond our expectations.
Copper Mountain is one of Colorado’s largest ski resorts, with 22 excellent lifts, a 2,600-foot vertical rise, 126 marked trails, and an impressive 2,465 ski-able acres.
The topography offers tremendous variety for all abilities and preferences. The design of the mountain is such that little kids’ ski classes and beginner runs remain safely out of the flight path of faster skiers and hotdogging snowboarders, and that advanced skiers don’t have to worry about slow-moving novices crossing in front of them.
During the season, we enjoyed a score of activities that took place at the fire pit in Center Village, amid the burning stone torches; about five times a season on a Saturday night, there are bonfires throughout the village, fire spinners, a torchlight parade and grand finale of fireworks.
Copper is very much a four-season resort. We always enjoyed horseback riding at Copper Stables along with a camp-side breakfast. Copper Mountain is right at the hub of the most amazing network of hundreds of miles of dedicated biking trails and byways.
Some of the provided activities at the resort are:quad power jump trampoline, go kart, rock climbing wall (the largest in North America, just in Center Village), use bumper boats, peddle boats on West Lake (kids can also go fishing on the stocked lake), and play on a miniature golf course. There's also geocaching, as well as concerts and events on the mountain. Woodward at Copper really comes into its own during summer, offering week-long training programs in skiing and snowboarding.
Our family has many fond memories of Copper but the one that stands out the most is spending time over the Christmas holidays and participating in the awesome New Year's Eve activities..
No snow! Unseasonably warm! Was able to get a couple of passes down the only slope open. Had fun seeing everything we typically don't do on a ski trip. We will be back for the spring ski!
We really enjoyed our stay April 16, 2016. The owner, Kathleen was very helpful. Her place was clean and we'll stocked with paper products, towels, and the kitchen had all the gadgets we needed for cooking. The beds and furniture were comfortable with tv's and bathrooms in each room. There is a indoor balcony that has views of the mountains, and parking lot. There are many restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store, and fitness center down the street. You really don't need to drive your car since everything is right there in the village. The building has 2 hot tubs, but no pool. We were very happy we stayed there and will stay at the same place if we ski at Copper again! Thanks for letting us stay at your place, Sherry Steffen
Great location, nice view, had a few issues with thermostat, lamp, only one locker key, but had very quick response and great communication with owner and agent. Enjoyed our stay.
We just got back from our annual spring ski vacation at Copper. If you are looking for a ski in/ski out location right in the village, look no further! This condo has recently been updated. High end finishes. Great beds and linen. Nature wood burning fireplace. Close to everything and plenty of parking available.
Starbucks on the first floor is a nice bonus!
Great location, comfortable rooms, convenient storage for gear, in-house parking, great owner... What's not to like!!
Others have mentioned that the unit's heating was difficult to adjust. This only requires simple management:
1. The unit's heaters are the baseboard variety.
2. Temperatures swing significantly from day to night.
3. Quick solution - set heat twice a day. Set morning for rising daytime temps and set the night time temps up when you get off the slopes to manage overnight drop in temperature.
We learned this curve quickly.
Lastly, Kathy (the owner) was extremely helpful, as was the building staff. Highly recommend the place.
We had a wonderful experience here. The condo was clean and comfortable. We had some minor hiccups with the TV service and the heat in the master bedroom but they were both taken care of very promptly. Kathy, the owner, and Dawn, the manager, were a joy to work with. They were very accommodating with all of my requests. This condo is in a prime location and is only about a 1 minute walk to the lifts. With convenient access to the slopes, restaurants and, covered parking, I can highly recommend this for your next family ski vacation.
