Guestbook comments from the owner

NOTE: We are heading back to Pocono Pines, Lake Naomi in about 4 weeks, and I happened to take a quick recent peek at the site and realized that our review from last year never posted! I found that I still had it in my file so am sending it on to Thomas and asking him to post it for us since I obviously failed at it last summer….I am pretty confident that this review will apply to the experience that that we are looking forward to having there in just a few more weeks!...

I began last February to find a place for our family to gather to celebrate my 65th birthday-my gift to myself. There would be my husband and me, our 3 sons and their wives, and our 3 grandchildren ages 5, 2, 1. We would be coming from Buffalo, Boston, Philadelphia and Nashville and the place had to be big enough and pet friendly. Searching through Homeaway, which we had successfully used once before, I zeroed in on the Poconos and discovered Pocono PInes. It sounded perfect and I began emailing Thomas with all kinds of questions. He was quick to answer and extremely helpful and always addressed any concerns I had. All sounded perfect so I booked a week in July and was excited when July rolled around. And then we arrived. Would it be all that we anticipated? In a word -YES!! It was all that we had hoped for and more! My kids commented several times during the week on what a great choice it was! The deck was wonderful, the house size was great, the kitchen large and well stocked, and the amenities (dock, kayak, pedal boat, pool table etc.) were all great and utilized by all! We also thought the counter and sinks in every bedroom were terrific and the master bedroom bathroom -wow! Plus, we did take advantage of getting a temporary membership to the Lake Naomi CLub and found it well worth it. It was a very hot week and the kids and the adults had great fun off the dock in the lake, at the small sandy beach just yards away, or in the huge Lake Naomi pool!.

We had only one regret...and that was that the week together ended and we had to leave! However, we liked it so much we have booked it again for next summer (2012)! Throughout our entire experience, Thomas was always very helpful and very accommodating and he is very receptive to suggestions for making it even more wonderful. Thank you, Thomas, for offering this wonderful property through Homeaway! See you next July!

Breathtaking views and all the comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

Me and my family stayed at the red house for my 30th birthday weekend with seven adults and six children we were crowded at all! It was such a warm and cozy space with breath taking views of the lake. It was November so outdoor activitIes were kept to a minimum, but there was plenty to do inside. They thought of everything! Anything we could have needed was there or if we couldn't find something Thomas was always available via text. From towels to toiletries we felt right at home. Our next trip back is already booked.

A decision you wont regret!

  • 5 of 5

Firstly, if you've made it this far to my review, do yourself and favor and book this house and thank me later..given that you're not staying the same time I want to return :). But seriously, I had a good feeling about this rental from the first email with Thomas, just based off of how extremely pleasant he was. His demeanor matched the house and then some. The pictures do the home no justice. The house is welcoming and clean and smells like heaven. The view of the lake is just breathtaking! The fireplace and heating kept us nice and toasty when the temperature dropped outdoors. The kitchen was legit FULLY STOCKED for any cooking needs, and the "room" with the bed where the furnace is located is an added bonus because it was like having 7 bedrooms. WiFi, pool table, TV's upstairs and downstairs..sinks in all the rooms were all great bonuses! No issues there or anywhere else for that matter! Will definitely be returning...

Great weekend at The Red House!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at The Red House! Thomas and Leslie were very welcoming and wonderful to work with, from email, to checking in. Very flexible and able to meet us at our convenience. Thank you!

The house was very clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. We were two families and there was plenty of room for an additional family to join. This is a great house for kids as they can have the downstairs area to hang, while the adults can be upstairs. Everyone loved the pool table and the deck is huge and a great place to enjoy the outdoors (even in the winter! Beautiful to watch the snow fall on the lake!) Each room had it's own sink, which was really helpful and easy! Lots of books, board games, and a stocked kitchen to make your time in the Red House easy. Everything about this place was easy!! :)

Lake Naomi is a great location to lots of fun spots in the area (skiing, tubing, indoor water parks, etc). The Jubilee is great for a local place to eat, too.

We will definitely be back!

Happy Family

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, along with two of our children stayed in this beautiful home for 5 nights last month. It was more than we could have imagined. 4 kids enjoyed themselves immensely with more activities than the beach. We did not have to worry about big waves. The Kayaks and Paddle Boat were used every day. We have rented 8 houses throughout the USA and we found the Red House the best stocked and prepared. Getting the Temporary Membership is ideal. Opens up many opportunities to do other activities. (Pools, Lake Beaches, Tennis, Golf etc)

Finally a great Thank you to Thomas and his family for being professional and exhibiting tremendous customer Care.

I wish it were my home!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and family wanted a weekend getaway on the water. A group of us separately searched homeaway and the majority of us individually selected The Red House! When we arrived we were blown away, the house was even more amazing in person! We were a party of 11 and there was enough room plus more for us all and we felt very relaxed and comfortable! The house is huge and nicely laid out with the perfect bedroom/bathroom layout and having sinks in every bedroom were an added bonus. The bedrooms were all big especially the huge master with deck access, so there were no typical arguments over who would get the smallest room haha. The open kitchen was huge and perfect for multiple chef's at the same time without having to take turns cooking. There were also lots of odds and ends in the kitchen just in case you forgot certain spices and condiments, they were there! The outdoors decks, both upper and lower were very nice and pretty much where we spent the majority of the weekend overlooking the water and private boat dock with boats for the house! There was no shortage of things to do here and the water views were amazing, perfect to watch sunrise/sunset on the private dock. We loved the house and had even decided after being there for the first few hours that we were definitely booking it again for our next trip! The owner Tom was very nice, helpful and a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process. He showed me anything I wanted to know about his home, we thank you again Tom for our amazing weekend!
