We know that vacations are a time to relax, have fun and be as hassle free as possible.
There is so much to do in the Traverse City area. Some examples are: winery tours and tasting rooms, Children’s Museum, Moomers Homemade Ice Cream (voted #1 in U.S.), Pirate’s Cove Adventure Park, the State Theatre (home of the Traverse City Film Festival), The village at Grand Traverse Commons, Dennos Museum, Interlochen Arts and Performance Academy, Music House Museum, Sleeping Bear National Lake Shore Park, Wuerfel Park (home to the minor league baseball team-Beach Bums) as well as all the biking, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking available in our area.
**Please note in a past review our guests commented on the beach, but it is not available to use by our guests in the Pines. This family was part of a family reunion in which they rented cottages that we own that have lakefront. You can google Willow Cottage and Maple Grove Cottage in Traverse City to get information on them.
My husband and I have been married since 1979. We moved to Traverse City in 1980 from the city of Detroit. We have raised our 5 children in this beautiful area. We take great pride in providing a clean/comfortable home for our guests. We are easily available to our guests as our year round home is located next door.
Marian purchased this house in 2010
The Pines is located next to our year round home as well as 2 beach-side cottages- Maple Grove and Willow Cottage. We did much updating to make the Pines a comfortable and spacious home away from home for our guests.
Parents with small children love the laundry room with a washer and dryer.
You have your own private yard for yard games, campfires and just relaxation. The home's deck looks over the yard and yes, you can get a peek at the lake. While here is no access to the lake with this home, the boat launch is just down the road and there are multiple public access beaches in the area. For example, Traverse City just 10 minutes away the public beach is located one block north of downtown, on Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bay. There are many amenities at this beach (bathrooms, volleyball, kayak and bike rentals, food concessions). There are many other beaches in the area that we can direct you too.
Thanks so much. My family had a great time and the house was very nice. Hope to maybe see you again soon.
We found a vacation house that became our treasured ‘home’ 10 minutes from Traverse City!! We drove up to Traverse City for a family wedding and for most of us this was our first visit to the area. Our family of 8 needed four bedrooms as in addition to my husband, myself and our daughter, we also had two sets of married children and a toddler grandchild. When we arrived at the ‘Pines’ on May 14th for a week, we were pleasantly surprised at the ample amount of parking (as we had 3 cars) and the large yard that also had a campfire pit (which we did use for a few nights). We found this home squeaky clean from top to bottom! It was just wonderful only having to bring our own towels, washcloths and food as ALL the other amenities and appliances were provided. What a gift to also have a washer and dryer for us to use. On the ground floor was a large bedroom with an area that a pack and play could comfortably fit in. Also on the ground floor was an updated full bath, laundry room and family room with a TV and fireplace. On the second floor were the 3 other good size bedrooms, another family room with a TV, an eating area and updated kitchen and full bath. Off the second floor was also a very nice deck. There was air conditioning too but we didn’t need to use it. The decor within the home was so charming and the beds were very comfortable. The cottage owner, who came to meet us the first day was just so pleasant and helpful. She made sure to point out to us a binder that she had made up that had a list of all the sights to see in the area, good restaurants to eat at, local grocery stores and emergency numbers should we need them. Being a nurse, I was very happy that she also had the address of the hospital that was in town. Our family had a wonderful, relaxing, bonding vacation in large part due to the home we were so fortunate to be at. We will definitely be coming back to this ‘home of ours’ in the future to see the amazing sights we weren’t able to see this time. Thanks for the treasured family memories!! Rita and Ed Livonia, MI
This house is great for a week stay due to the central air, comfortable beds, love the washer and dryer and all amenities. Lots of space to stretch out in the house. House is very clean. Outside deck and a wonderful large yard with campfire pit. So close to Traverse City makes it a wonderful find!
We have been vacationing in Traverse City for over 10 years now, and every year our kids start counting down the days until we go. We were lucky to rent from Tom & Marian Brady! They are incredibly knowledgeable about the area, provide fantastic recommendations for restaurants, day trips, and family outings, plus make us feel right at home. Their property is truly a slice of paradise. There is a beautiful beach area with a fire pit, picnic area, a hammock, two docks, paddle boards, kayaks, and a row boat. The kids swim out to the floating dock and spend hours swimming, exploring and fishing. The rental we have been staying in is the Pines. There are 4 large bedrooms and two full baths. The kitchen is fully equipped and it's very nicely decorated. It's a short drive from downtown and the wineries. Grocery shopping is very close, too. We can't wait to come back again next year!! We highly recommend renting from Tom & Marian Brady!!
My family rented this house for a small family reunion and it was lovely! The house was very clean and comfortable. There is a nice area in the back yard for campfires, room for the kids to play, as well as a hammock to get some relaxation in. The beach is a short walk away and is very nice as well! There are a number of water activities to choose from: swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, taking the row boat out for a spin, building sandcastles, and sun bathing. We had such a great time and made many everlasting memories. We can’t wait to go back next year!
Visit a great beach Grand Traverse Bay (Lake Michigan).one block from downtown Traverse City. There is a park for the kids, canoe and kayak rentals, bike rentals, great food and a fully functioning public bathroom.
