About Lynne and Bill

My husband and I have lived in Tucson since 1976 when we came for graduate work at the University of Arizona and we plan to live here the rest of our lives. We love the casual lifestyle, the friendly Arizonans, and the weather where your picnics are never rained out. My husband and I are engineers, although I have recently entered the world of real estate as a salesperson. This is our only rental property and we plan to make it our eventual retirement home.

Lynne and Bill purchased this house in 2010

Why Lynne and Bill chose Arizona

We love the house; we love the neighborhood; we knew the previous owner and the builder. We love how you can sit outside in the u-shaped patio surrounded by incredible views of the city and surrounding mountains, or sit inside and feel like you're outside due to the large windows and glass doors. We love hearing the coyotes call to each other at night; we love watching the shooting stars; we love seeing the colorful hummingbirds sip nectar from flowers, watching the mule deer as they come down from the mountains in the afternoon to graze on the jojoba, and the javalina as they move in a herd through the desert. It's all right there at our doorstep. And finally, we love this property for its convenience. In minutes we can be downtown at the Convention Center, the University of Arizona, University Medical Center, some of the best restaurants in Tucson, museums, and attractions. We have the best of both worlds - desert tranquility and beauty while being within a 10 minute drive from Tucson and city life.

What makes this house unique

After searching properties for over a year, our casa, Entrada de los Montanas, was the choice. Its location offered million dollar views, and its layout made for a comfortable and relaxed living style. After a full year of working to upgrade the property, it was finally ready to offer to you, our visitors, for your vacation rental. From the new air conditioning and heating system to the carefully selected Southwestern furnishings we have tried to give visitors a WOW feeling from the time you open the front door until the day you leave. Comfort, privacy, beauty, convenience, ease and grace are words we hope our property conveys. We will strive to make your vacation the best one ever.

Super clean, lots of space and super view

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for a wedding and this property was perfect. The house is very clean and well laid out. The owners thoughtfully provided lots of local information along with some snacks and coffee in a welcome basket. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

The house has a lovely interior courtyard with an expansive view of Tucson and the distant mountains. The view is a knockout feature, we couldn't get enough of it. The kitchen is spacious and has almost everything a cook would need. The eating and sitting area has large window also with a view. The bedrooms had comfortable beds. The bathrooms were spotless and had great towels.

We entertained all of the out of town family for a casual dinner and seated 16 at various tables and chairs around the dining area and courtyard. Everyone commented on how well the house worked for our family get together.

The only caution is that the driveway is steep but after one time you get the hang of it.

Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this property. We've been coming to Tucson over 20 years and this was, by far, our favorite stay.

The place was just gorgeous. Very spacious. Plenty of room to do your own thing . You are far enough out to enjoy the desert experience but close to whatever you might need within a short drive . Lynne was a most gracious host . The welcoming basket was so nice . I can't wait to go back ! I couldn't recommend it more .

Wonderful experience at this property.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property of Lynn and Bill's for wedding in March of 2017. It was a wonderful experience even before arriving. I was traveling with two children and had questions. Lynn was easy to reach by phone to answer all questions in preparation for the trip. We arrived very late at night and the lights were left on and they were ready for us. There was also a basket of goodies and water as we didn't have time to stop to get any groceries. The house was better than the photos. It was very well kept and clean. The view was breath taking!!! Lynn came over to greet us in the morning and gave great tips for things to do in the area, which was all close by. We had so much fun and made such great memories! Thank you so much for letting us stay!

Great property and wonderful owners

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in Tucson, thanks to our great hosts Lynne and Bill. The three bedroom two bathroom house was very comfortable for three couples. The house, set on a hillside has a large patio overlooking Tuscon - with a hot tub and BBQ (We used both. ) and gorgeous sun rises. - Lynne a Bill were available to answer all questions, offered suggestions on sites to see and shared a dinner with us. The house, and owners are dog friendly and went out of their way to help. For those visiting Tuscon for the first time, a trip to the observatory on Mt Lemon, Saguaro National Park, hiking in Sabino Canyon, biking the Loop, and the Biosphere were all highlights. Also, no problem with return of security deposit. Thanks Lynne and Bill for making this a memorable vacation

What a view!

There were no surprises w this listing, found it as listed. Extremely clean and well maintained. Met the owner who lives nearby, and she showed us around the place and turned on the jacuzzi - new, clean and hot! Will not only recommend to friends/relatives, we'll be back. The home is spacious and open, with an amazing view over Tucson city, the night lights were very pretty. Restaurants are w/in 5 mi, the drive over Gates Pass to the Desert Museum is fast and easy. We are mtn bikers and there are some great local trails nearby. Had a blast!

The beauty and history of the Old West - a place like no other on earth. Entrada de los Montanas (Entry to the Mountains) is situated in the foothills of Tucson's oldest mountain range, the Tucson Mountains. The 3000 foot elevation gives unobstructed city views as well as wrap-around mountain views. We are situated on the popular bike path of Gates Pass and back up to the Gates Pass County Park, a natural area studded with thousands of majestic giant Saguaro cacti and much desert wildlife, and with many hiking and bike trails. Although removed from the hustle bustle of the city, it is only a 5 to 10 minute drive to central downtown Tucson, the University of Arizona, the Tucson Convention Center, and Interstate I-10. A short 15 minute drive from our property west, across gorgeous Gates Pass will bring you to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and Old Tucson Studios, the film location of many Western movies and the original Lone Ranger television series. The International Wildlife Museum is only a 3-minute drive away. Other easily accessible local attractions are Flandreau Planetarium, located on the University of Arizona campus, as is the Arizona State Museum which houses many Native American exhibits as well as ancient Western artifacts. A short hop onto I-10, about 5 minutes away, will take you east to Sabino Canyon where you can hike or ride the tram up the canyon and learn many interesting facts about desert plants and animals; the Pima Air Museum which houses many old and new aircraft and WWII memorabilia; Kartchner Caverns which has been named one of the 10 best cave networks in the world; and the historic western towns of Tombstone and Bisbee. Or travel west on I-10 to Phoenix and catch a Dbacks game. Whatever your daily activity you can return to casa Entrada de los Montanas, relax as you sit in the heated spa with a chilled glass of wine and look over the breathtaking views of the Tucson Valley; or watch hummingbirds sip nectar from the flowers in your private patio; or catch sight of the occasional roadrunner or coyote or perhaps even a bobcat or mule deer as they make their appearances in the cool of the afternoon. See the moon as it rises over the mountains or catch one of our many meteor showers. The absence of cloud cover and downtown street lights allow you to see as many as 30 meteors per second. As night falls use the telescope that we've provided to view the milky way and planets as you've never before seen them in the crystal clearness of the Arizona desert night air. We sincerely hope you will be our guests and we promise to do our utmost to make this your best vacation ever.
