My husband and I have lived in Tucson since 1976 when we came for graduate work at the University of Arizona and we plan to live here the rest of our lives. We love the casual lifestyle, the friendly Arizonans, and the weather where your picnics are never rained out. My husband and I are engineers, although I have recently entered the world of real estate as a salesperson. This is our only rental property and we plan to make it our eventual retirement home.
Lynne and Bill purchased this house in 2010
We love the house; we love the neighborhood; we knew the previous owner and the builder. We love how you can sit outside in the u-shaped patio surrounded by incredible views of the city and surrounding mountains, or sit inside and feel like you're outside due to the large windows and glass doors. We love hearing the coyotes call to each other at night; we love watching the shooting stars; we love seeing the colorful hummingbirds sip nectar from flowers, watching the mule deer as they come down from the mountains in the afternoon to graze on the jojoba, and the javalina as they move in a herd through the desert. It's all right there at our doorstep. And finally, we love this property for its convenience. In minutes we can be downtown at the Convention Center, the University of Arizona, University Medical Center, some of the best restaurants in Tucson, museums, and attractions. We have the best of both worlds - desert tranquility and beauty while being within a 10 minute drive from Tucson and city life.
After searching properties for over a year, our casa, Entrada de los Montanas, was the choice. Its location offered million dollar views, and its layout made for a comfortable and relaxed living style. After a full year of working to upgrade the property, it was finally ready to offer to you, our visitors, for your vacation rental. From the new air conditioning and heating system to the carefully selected Southwestern furnishings we have tried to give visitors a WOW feeling from the time you open the front door until the day you leave. Comfort, privacy, beauty, convenience, ease and grace are words we hope our property conveys. We will strive to make your vacation the best one ever.
Lynne was very interested in making sure all of our needs were met...and they were! The location is great and the views are incredible. Had a very nice pre-Christmas stay...
There were no surprises w this listing, found it as listed. Extremely clean and well maintained. Met the owner who lives nearby, and she showed us around the place and turned on the jacuzzi - new, clean and hot! Will not only recommend to friends/relatives, we'll be back. The home is spacious and open, with an amazing view over Tucson city, the night lights were very pretty. Restaurants are w/in 5 mi, the drive over Gates Pass to the Desert Museum is fast and easy. We are mtn bikers and there are some great local trails nearby. Had a blast!
Lynne and Bill,
Thank you for letting us stay at this awesome property. The view was absolutely fabulous and the outdoor area was perfect. I have many wonderful sunrise photos to remember our trip by. We would rent this house again.
I rented Lynne and Bill's house for my family who was coming to town for my graduation from the UA. My sister has 2 children under the age of 5, and this house worked out perfectly for them. They got to experience the dessert, and were only 10-15 minutes away from the attractions downtown. Lynne was extremely helpful and accommodating. A great experience overall!
It was all I expected and location was a big part. So accessible (within minutes) to hiking/walking, biking and GOLF. Starr Pass Golf Course is just 10minutes away and is probably the best/frustrating golf experience.
With that courtyard and view we chose to "dine in" a lot. Who wants to sit in a restaurant with that view. The kitchen was very well equipped and user friendly and the grill really did its thing.
Great memories, can still hear those coyotes in the early morning.
My family had the pleasure of staying in the impeccably clean home of Drs. Bracker and Bracker (who are down to earth rocket scientists, really). Nice accommodations with a million dollar view of Tucson! Highly recommended on all fronts. A+++
The beauty and history of the Old West - a place like no other on earth. Entrada de los Montanas (Entry to the Mountains) is situated in the foothills of Tucson's oldest mountain range, the Tucson Mountains. The 3000 foot elevation gives unobstructed city views as well as wrap-around mountain views. We are situated on the popular bike path of Gates Pass and back up to the Gates Pass County Park, a natural area studded with thousands of majestic giant Saguaro cacti and much desert wildlife, and with many hiking and bike trails. Although removed from the hustle bustle of the city, it is only a 5 to 10 minute drive to central downtown Tucson, the University of Arizona, the Tucson Convention Center, and Interstate I-10. A short 15 minute drive from our property west, across gorgeous Gates Pass will bring you to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and Old Tucson Studios, the film location of many Western movies and the original Lone Ranger television series. The International Wildlife Museum is only a 3-minute drive away. Other easily accessible local attractions are Flandreau Planetarium, located on the University of Arizona campus, as is the Arizona State Museum which houses many Native American exhibits as well as ancient Western artifacts. A short hop onto I-10, about 5 minutes away, will take you east to Sabino Canyon where you can hike or ride the tram up the canyon and learn many interesting facts about desert plants and animals; the Pima Air Museum which houses many old and new aircraft and WWII memorabilia; Kartchner Caverns which has been named one of the 10 best cave networks in the world; and the historic western towns of Tombstone and Bisbee. Or travel west on I-10 to Phoenix and catch a Dbacks game. Whatever your daily activity you can return to casa Entrada de los Montanas, relax as you sit in the heated spa with a chilled glass of wine and look over the breathtaking views of the Tucson Valley; or watch hummingbirds sip nectar from the flowers in your private patio; or catch sight of the occasional roadrunner or coyote or perhaps even a bobcat or mule deer as they make their appearances in the cool of the afternoon. See the moon as it rises over the mountains or catch one of our many meteor showers. The absence of cloud cover and downtown street lights allow you to see as many as 30 meteors per second. As night falls use the telescope that we've provided to view the milky way and planets as you've never before seen them in the crystal clearness of the Arizona desert night air. We sincerely hope you will be our guests and we promise to do our utmost to make this your best vacation ever.
