You are away from the city, but yet so close! You will be able to get in and out of Manhattan in a wink. It takes approx 15 minutes to be in the heart of Manhattan, so you can enjoy the city all day, but you will be able to come back to a quiet place. By staying in this house, you will be able to enjoy the best of both worlds. The quietness of this area will be much appreciated after being all day in the noisy streets in the city.
Had a great time here. Owners were very accommodating.
Our 4 families were very comfortable even during blizzard Stella. Ruth and Henry helped a lot with transportation and directions to activities. 135 year old house was very charming and spacious. Recommend it to anyone.
We stayed here during NYFW. The home is so charming, and so close to everything. We took some vintage fashion photos in the home and it was the perfect setting. Ruth was a lovely host and was so easy to work with when there were multiple delays and changes due to the large amount of snowfall that came the day of our arrival. We would definitely love to stay here again for future trips to the NJ/NY area!
We came for my wife's birthday, which happened to be on Thanksgiving Day to see the Macy's Day Parade. A big bucket list item. From the day we started discussing the idea of renting Ruth and Henry's home for the week, Ruth was extraordinarily helpful and accommodating.
The house brought all of us back to our childhood days. Big old house, tons of room to spread out, gorgeous woodwork like the old days with modern amenities. The neighborhood is simply awesome. After all the trips into New York for the Parade, Time Square, Broadway, Empire State Building, The Tonight Show, 911 Memorial, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty... on and on and on, we would still wake up early, walk around the area, try a different deli or grocery and meet people. The people were so much fun. Met an elderly couple that spent the better part of a morning showing us around. An old church, a convent, an old newspaper printing company. And Harold! OMG this guy was a riot. He was a sanitation supervisor who stopped at a deli for breakfast. "Yoos come all de way from Caleefoyneeaaa to see New Joysee. Are yoos frigin cwazy!" The guy had us in stitches. Oh and he loved our accents. haaaa
Henry picked us up from the airport and Manny took us back to the airport. Two wonderful people. After five minutes you felt like you were part of the family.
I would definitely recommend this place if you have any intentions of visiting New Jersey or New York. As a matter of fact I already have. They are planning the same trip we took for next year and will be contacting Ruth soon.
Stop looking, you've found the perfect place for a family vacation to remember.
I booked this property in the last minute. Ruth was very welcoming and accommodating . The house was very well kept . Very neat and very tastefully decorated. Ruth and Henry stopped by to see us next morning . They were very friendly and helped us with information on how to get to the city etc. overall a great experience and a great house .
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house, which was comfortable for our party of 13. Plenty of space & the games room was a hit with the kids & adults! Really nice features & the location was perfect for us to get to & from Manhattan. Ruth, Henry & Manny are lovely people who were very helpful & accommodating. They arranged our transfers to & from the airport which were quick, easy & comfortable & gave us so much helpful advice & tips. There was plenty of information that helped during our stay & we'd definitely recommend or stay there again. Had a great time & the house felt like home after our busy days out in Manhattan.
