Perfect For Families!
If you're looking for a homey place where you can feel comfortable and at ease with your kids and pet having fun, this is the house. The Dolphin Beach House is not fancy. It looks like a family vacation home. I didn't feel like I had to worry about the kids touching everything or getting comfy on the furniture.
The kitchen is very well stocked with appliances, gadgets and dishes. One more large frying pan would have been appreciated, but there are plenty of things to cook with.
My husband and I had the single bedroom downstairs and the mattress was firm and very comfortable.
The spiral staircase is a challenge and my least favorite part of the house. Our dog refused to even attempt it, so we had to take him outside and around everytime we took him upstairs or downstairs.
The 182 steps down to the beach is quite a workout, but in exchange you are right on the beach for a good price, so we took that into consideration as a trade off.
We will definitely return!
Beautiful views! Excellent location!
My family and I enjoyed the views and the daily walks we took on the beach. This home is in a great location. Thank you for sharing your home with my family. Will definitely come back!
Not as advertised
This is the first time I’ve done a review on any accommodation at which I’ve stayed. My wife and I had stayed at this beach community several years ago. On those trips we stayed at a lovely cottage on Sunset Drive, which unfortunately is no longer renting. The Sunset Drive cottage was well-maintained, with lovely appointments, open and airy, great views of the ocean, beach, and sunsets—basically, everything that dolphin cottage is not. Some would say that the dolphin cottage has character or lived-in charm, but in reality it is simply a bad example of a small beach house which was expanded years ago to accommodate multiple guests, and now is a well-used rental, badly in need of restoration. The majority of the windows facing the ocean are so hazy you can barely see out, and the living area is dominated by a large screen TV and a fireplace, with an electric log poorly installed. Beyond a table with chairs next to the kitchen, the remainder of the furniture consists of well-used futons crammed into any useable space. To access the bedrooms from inside the house you must traverse a small spiral staircase, which is approximately 18” inches wide. I’m sure most guests decide to enter the downstairs by going outside, through the front door, around the house and down the outside stairs to access the bedrooms with any luggage or pets. The single master bedroom is reasonably large with the same hazy windows and rundown furnishings as upstairs. The second bedroom (which is actually a converted laundry room) has no outside windows, but consists of cylinder block walls with the bed pushed against one wall. The upstairs deck is the best part of the house, but unfortunately faces southwest; the neighboring house blocks any views of the sunset. There is a hot tub, which we did not use, and a gas grill that was in need of cleaning. The “computer area” for the cottage covers a good portion of a small table in the kitchen and is a tangle of wires and cords. The dated modem/router for internet and phone did not work on our visit. We did not stay for the entire weekend. This rental may be a marginally acceptable option for couples or friends traveling with four or more “guests,” which will reduce the outlandish cost for this quality of accommodation to a more reasonable rate. Prior to posting this review, the property owner did return our damage deposit and contacted us on our poor experience where he offered a complementary stay, which we declined.
Views! Views! Views!
First I want to mention that Mr. & Mrs. Choudri are a very nice and caring couple that take pride in their home. My family and I had the privilege of meeting them both. They have went out of their way to make sure our stay was an enjoyable one. The Dolphin Cottage is a very clean and cozy beach getaway with views that are breathtaking! During our stay we witnessed a whale spouting, and frolicking in the ocean, also pods of dolphins almost every morning. Just sitting on the deck relaxing, listening to the waves, and our evening dog walks around the beautiful neighborhood and talking to the friendly neighbors was my favorite part. I also want to add there are humming birds that were right outside the deck that came so close to us. It was amazing to be one with nature. This home also has its own beach access. The trek down is long and a little steep, but well worth it. Just be careful if you have bad knees. There is also a ramp that is a lot easier to walk which is located to the right of the main entrance. Also someone in a past review stated the beach isn’t dog friendly which was a small concern. I was happy to know I was able to take my dog down with no problem, and there were other dogs as well. I first checked with the person at the entrance. As long as we entered through the ramp/walkway at the entrance. Check The Dolphin Cottage out, you’ll l
Hope to visit again.
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Choudri.

Cozy but smelly
This was a cozy well located house whose upstairs bathroom smelled of sewer gas, so much so that we had to close off all the doors to that part of the house.
You were notified by our Manager prior to your arrival that we were in the process of upgrading the bathrooms and completion of the final details were still pending. Unfortunately you did not let her know of this issue until your departure time, as she could have sent someone earlier to get it checked out.
All the work has now been completed and the problem resolved.
Had a very quiet and relaxing time.
The maintenance man was real nice.
He had to come fix the shower head...
Some basic items can be upgraded... But, all was well and relaxing.
