My husband John and myself operated Annie's Bed and Breakfast in Springville for 17 years prior to moving up the hill to Ponderosa. We both love the quiet mountains and have moved our Custom saddle shop 'Boz Saddlery' up here. Guests are welcome to watch John 'Boz' create a beautiful custom handmade saddle and also Equestrian gear. I help John in the saddle shop also. We have riding clinics and lessons available for quests with their own horses. Come up and relax and share our beautiful piece of paradise. The picture is us in costume for our artist neighbor for one of his shows. We were creatures in the snow.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2001
I grew up with a cabin in Camp Nelson (12 miles down from Ponderosa) and loved this area. We looked all over the north west states and found this property in our own backyard. We are 4 hours from the beach, LA and 6 hours from SF. Great spot and lots or nothing to do, you can make the choice.
We have the most beautiful redwoods 10 miles from us, fishing a couple of miles, hiking, birdwatching. If you don't have a horse of your own, there is Quaking Aspen pack station that will take you for day rides or you can pack back into the back country. Trails, trails and miles or more trails for hiking, mountain biking and in the wintertime a great place for snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Our area has a lot to offer and it isn't crowded.
If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing, beautiful getaway, look no further. I almost don't want to say how great this place is because we might never be able to get a reservation again. Kidding of course, but seriously it's a great place. The cabin is as advertised with a gourmet kitchen with everything you need. The cabin is on it's own private meadow which was completely full of wildflowers on our visit. We brought our dog who became pals with the Bozanich's dog Mohawk. Boz and Annie are an amazing couple with a true "only in America " success story. The tour of the shop is a real treat. Anyway wonderful people, great location, awesome cabin, you got it all!
This trip was everything we hoped for and more. Ann and Boz are the perfect hosts and the cabin is the ultimate combination of cozy comfort and a chefs dream. Boz has also constructed a open fire grill (Ann's design inspired by Martha Stuart) which we used to grill steaks and asparagus. Delish! As for the meadow, our two daughters and dog Buddy had the time of their lives! The flowers were in bloom and small pools of water had formed that were teaming with life. The kids had the best time catching pollywogs. The location is fantastic being so close to the Ponderosa lodge which has a small restaurant and bar as well as a small general store for those forgotten items. We visited the Trail of 100 Giants and Dome Rock. It was truly a perfect short trip. Hoping to stay longer next time. The girls are begging for another trip already. Thank you, Ann and Boz, for sharing your delightful slice of heaven oh... and the fresh eggs!
Ann and John are friendly, gracious hosts at their Ponderosa home in the Sierra mountains. Their cabin, and its amazing spacious kitchen, was the perfect home base for our hiking, sightseeing, and climbing vacation. Ann supplied us with fresh eggs from her chickens all week. The surrounding Sierra mountains are truly breathtaking, and the massive Sequioa trees located nearby at the Trail of 100 Giants are unforgettable. They are majestic trees to behold. If you are lucky, as we were, when you hike to the Needles Lookout you will be surprised by a F-18 fighter jet screaming just overhead.
This is the ideal place to recharge your mental "batteries" and shed stress from your mind. As John Muir famously said " Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves".
I cant wait to return.
The hosts, Ann and Boz, were gracious, warm, and welcoming. We enjoyed talking and sharing some laughter with them and were grateful for the fresh eggs they had waiting for us. The property is beautiful and the home is cozy and ingeniously built. We enjoyed cooking in the fabulous kitchen and sitting by the fire under the stars at night. We were fortunate enough to be there on a weekend when the locals had an event. We had a ball listening to the local band and kicking our heels up. We should have spent more time out hiking, etc but we enjoyed the serenity of the property and we truly can't say enough about our wonderful hosts and the beautiful setting, such a great getaway to go and decompress. We hope to visit there again...sooner than later.
Family spent our Easter weekend and had an absolutely wonderful time. The views were breathtaking and the accommodations were incredible, especially the kitchen area. We are hoping to make our way back during the summer and escape the heat for a few days.
My wife and 4 children stayed at Annie & John's cabin over President's Weekend and had a marvelous time. We were looking for a place to do nothing but play in the snow and relax and this was it. The cabin itself is cozy and stayed warm, the chef's kitchen was incredible, and the scenery was amazing. The majority of the property is the meadow and surrounding forest which is free to explore. At more than 7000 ft there was plenty of snow for sledding, cross-country skiing and snow shoeing. The hosts were gracious and very helpful, but respected our privacy. And the fresh eggs from their chickens were delicious! We will definitely return.
