Mark and Gail love the Loggerhead turtles and it is reflective in the home's decor. The home is light and bright with beautiful teal and green colors.

We allow most pets. When requesting booking please let us know how many pets and what kind.

Located on the west end of the island and a short 1 mile drive/walk to the Beach. This is a great walking/dog beach extending to the point and the inlet. The home is a short 1 block walk to the intra-coastal. This single level cottage has 3 bedrooms. Master has a king bed, Bedroom 2 has a queen, Bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds. Outside patio furniture for entertaining. All bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided. Kitchen appliances (range/oven, microwave, toaster, blender, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker), washer/dryer, wireless internet, Time Warner Cable TV, Roku for streaming and DVD, beach chairs, umbrella, gas grill, beach toys and more are provided for your use (bring your own coolers).

A native of Wilmington, NC, Gail has always longed to return to the beaches. Her 2013 visit to Oak Island reminded her of the beach days of the past and she had to own here. Gail and Mark are now permanent residents of Oak Island. Gail brought 21 years of AZ real estate experience to the island and now works for RE/MAX at the Beach. She understands the value of providing the level of service that has made her business a success. Like the Loggerhead turtles, she returned to her place of origin, North Carolina.

Really nice

My wife and I stayed here over the long Memorial Day week and could not have been happier. The home was clean with a big (for the area) back yard that gave our dogs plenty of space to run around. The location is great, just a little over a mile to walk or bike to the beach and on the NW side of Oak Island Drive, so much quieter than on the other side of the road. We rented bikes for ourselves ($100 total for the week) and were able to ride the bikes round trip to the beach back to the house in about 15 minutes. The inside of the house is a small little 3 bedrooms but would be plenty big enough for a smaller family. I'm new to house rentals, so it seemed like we had to do more cleaning than I would have expected, but really that didn't change our overall experience. Would definitely stay here again and maybe will!

Wonderful Home!

The home was great. Just as pictured. Great enclosed back yard for our fur baby. Our weekend was great. Weather was wonderful. Kitchen has everything needed for your cooking wishes. Would recommend this home. We hope to return to the Loggerhead Cottage in the future. It was great meeting Gail and being able to put name and face together. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful home.

Oak Island is a wooded island extending east/west about 10 miles and less than 1 mile north/south. Beautiful white sand beaches that you will have all to yourself October-May. Parking is plentiful with beach accesses at the end of almost every street. Bike from our cottage to the ocean or walk 1500 steps to the waterway.
