Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

Great space for a large family to mingle or have some solitary time. Rooms were graciously appointed and there was no shortage of towels. Kitchen was a dream for our cooking and food loving family! The butler's pantry was the perfect coffee and beverage bar. The only thing missing was a garlic press! The ocean view and morning peacefulness was enjoyed from the porch rockers. The staff was very responsive to all requests and very friendly. Having access to the spa at the Inn was a plus.

The property is not handicapped accessible, which made it a challenge for the elderly. There are many stairs, many tripping hazards on each level, low toilets, and no grab bars in the showers. The wifi was sporadic, which made it difficult for those needing to do some work or school work. Cell signal for phone calls was also spotty. Surround sound on the TV was not functioning and the dishwasher in the butler's pantry was problematic. The dining room lighting was dim, which made it a challenge for our jigsaw puzzle efforts.

It would have been great to have had a fire pit on the property for our cool evenings.

All in all, we would love to visit again.

A very happy New Years weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property for 3 nights over New Years weekend with 16 guests. The house was able to comfortably fit everyone. There is a nice kitchen, along with two large living rooms and two large dining rooms. The living room attached to the kitchen has a TV and surround sound, which was nice for watching the football game and listening to music. We cooked every night, and the kitchen had all of the supplies we needed. There is also multiple refrigerators which was very nice to have. We had an amazing stay. Jane was was very helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend this property.

The Maine Seaside Cottage is the perfect venue for a large group of family and/or friends. The description of the property was spot on. We thought the house was lovelier than the photos on the VRBO website.

The house was spotless. The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed for meal preparation. The prep kitchen helpful. There are various types of dinnerware--plastic for informal breakfasts and fancier ware for dinners. There are 2 dishwashers, 2 full size refrigerators, crisper drawers and small refrigerator in prep kitchen good for keeping the white wine cool. Finally, a separate freezer on the lower level. There is a view of York Harbor from the main kitchen sink--so lovely.

We ate our dinners in the fully glassed in dining area. There is also a more formal dining room.

The bedrooms are beautifully furnished--the master bedroom large enough to be an apartment in an of itself. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to provide privacy for our group.

Working with Jane Smith was a pleasure. She responded quickly to all my questions. It was nice to meet her after all of our electronic communication. She is delightful and so helpful.

The highlight of our trip was a Windjammer schooner cruise on Casco Bay AND eating lobsters which were purchased at Fisherman's Cove. Fisherman's Cove cooked the lobsters perfectly. We also bought little neck and steamer clams. Excellent, fresh seafood.

We visited the Nubble light, Bush compound which can be seen from the road, Ogunquit, and Kennebunkport. We enjoyed driving the small country roads. A few of us enjoyed a visit to Agamenticus mountain where there are lovely 360 degree views which extend all the way to Whiteface Mountain in NY. Fort McClary in Kittery is interesting and provides a beautiful view of the harbor.

We enjoyed spectacular weather.

I would happily recommend this property to friends and relatives. Loved it!!!!

Terrific house for a family gathering

  • 5 of 5

Our family, eight adults and six children, gathered here for a celebration of our 50th anniversary. Everybody loved the house and found it very comfortable. We also appreciated the easy access to the pool, the beach, tennis and nice walks. The house is also very well equipped. Our only quibble with it is that it would be nice to be able to access the Internet in more areas of the house.

Grand Maine seaside cottage

  • 5 of 5

Our family loves this rental. It is our 3rd time there and we hope to return in 2years. However, here are a few comments/suggestions that need consideration:

Monday to Monday rental is not practical when some family members come from the Midwest. We hope you consider going back to the Sunday to Sunday schedule.

The air conditioning units needed cleaning.

The mattress in the sleep sofa in first level bedroom was uncomfortable. Some of the springs have given.

The carpet at the top of the stairs between 1st and 2nd level needs to be secured. Though not yet crucial, someone could trip on It if not nailed down or stapled.

There were a few sheets missing on 2 beds, no dish towels in the kitchen, which were readily supplied by housekeeping upon request.

Service was excellent, house was spotless, with the exception of the air conditioners.

It would be nice to have a fan for the porch dining area.

There appears to be a humidity problem in the first level bedroom.

Some windows need washing in the house.

I do hope that these comments are helpful in your attempt to maintain the high quality to which you pride yourselves. We do hope to return in the future.
