Hawaiian plantation living. The acre estate is located across from the world famous Sunset Beach, prime location. The Lanai is a 2 bedroom (Queen) 1 bth on Sunset Beach, North Shore, Oahu. The Lanai is 1000 feet (.2 miles) from Sunset Beach and is a short walk or bike ride to Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay and Shark’s Cove. The cottage is 40 minutes to downtown Honolulu and Waikiki.
Features include open lanai, outdoor living and dining areas, gas grill, and hammock. This is a serene, attached ground floor rental on a lush 1 acre lot with fruit trees, orchids, and more.
Property owner/manager, Yuki, was an extreme pleasure and was very responsive from the very moment we inquired about her properties. We live in Honolulu, and had to relocate for the weekend due to our house being tented. With the influx of summer vacationers in Waikiki plus RIMPAC (which means there's a bunch of foreign militaries in town), we decided to get away from all the hustle and bustle, and Yuki's location in North Shore was perfect!
While the Lanai is not beachfront, there is still amazing ocean views with only a short walk (or bike ride) to the beach. The house and property is well groomed and kept immaculate. The beautiful furniture and attention to detail in interior design only added to an already gorgeous location. There is a huge yard for a little one to play and sometimes Gypsy, Yuki's super cute Pomeranian, entertained our daughter. All the furniture is practically new, local, and of great quality. Small comforts like a hammock, grill and all the kitchen supplies made our stay so comfortable, that we didn't even want to go to the beach!
Payment through Paypal was legit, for those that are skeptical. Yuki even returned our deposit the same day we left. Traffic was a bit of a pain, but that's inherent in Hawaii, so we just deal and hang loose!
We will definitely be reaching out to Yuki anytime and every time we head to the North Shore!! Feel free to contact me
Yuki and her precious doggie Gypsy were gracious hosts during our recent weeklong stay at her home. We found the property to be elegant, well-appointed and peaceful. The location is just a few blocks from the beach, just far enough away to be quiet and serene, but still offering breathtaking views of Sunset Beach. We were close to the market, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Sharks Cove and our very favorite, Waimea Bay.
The interior has a classy, old school plantation-style vibe and is well-appointed with all the amenities needed for a restful week on the North Shore, including 2 beach cruisers, a cooler (came in very handy and extra thanks for the ice pack in the freezer so we were ready to go!), hammock, relaxing upholstered outdoor lounge, grill, washer/dryer, awesome beach towels and a nicely stocked kitchen.
The property itself is gated and very private, and our lanai overlooked the beautifully manicured grounds. Yuki's little pup Gypsy stopped by often (at our request) to play with our teenaged daughters, which they loved. Although Yuki lives upstairs we never saw her unless we sought her out, which our girls did often because they thought she was "hipster" and "cool" (the ultimate compliment!).
All-in-all a fantastic property, great location and wonderful owner/host. If we had to make one suggestion it would be for an outdoor shower as this would minimize the amount of sand being tracked in the house/bathroom/shower.
We would stay here again in a hot second and plan to soon! Thanks again, Yuki!
Thank you Yuki for a great place to stay during our first time to Ohau! My fiancé and I enjoyed all the property and area had to offer. Great food, beaches, and activities within a reasonable driving distance and a short walk to the local beach from the house. Although we did not get a sunset as shown in the pictures (cannot control the weather!) the location still provided beautiful views.
Property is beautiful, cozy, and clean. It is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the scenery without all the congestion of a resort. We stayed for 3 days before heading to Waikiki as I had to stay there for work. After one day was wishing I could have been back on the North Shore.
We would definitely recommend this property and hope to make it back again soon! Owner is very nice and helpful with directions, instructions, and recommendations. Was very quick to return security deposit upon departure.
Lovely place with a great Lanai. We didn't want to leave! Nice yard for our toddler to play in, complete with visiting chickens and the owner's puppy who liked to visit in the afternoons. Short walk to the beach and easy drive to all the North Shore has to offer (Turtle bay, Haleiwa, Waimea Falls). Yuki was a great host. The condo/half house has everything you could want, it felt like a good size for the three of us. Relaxing on the Lanai looking out at Sunset beach was just what we needed to end our holiday. Would definitely recommend this place for those looking to get away from the tourists/resorts. Make sure you go to the Elephant Thai food truck, best Thai food we have had in a long time!
We loved sitting on the lanai every morning and having our coffee. It was a peaceful and relaxing start to the day. The place was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the roosters from two houses over crow from about 2am to 6am. The roosters in the yard of the property start at about 6:30am, but not as often. I think this is normal for this part of the island, so not a reflection on the owner's in anyway.
Great place to get away. Very relaxing and peaceful. Loved the North Shore. Yuki was very responsive when we had questions. I'd especially recommend it to a couple that want to get away.
The Lanai is across from world-famous Sunset Beach, an excellent location for world class surfing, snorkeling and diving.
The property is .2 miles to Sunset Beach and the bike path. Located in a prime location near all famous surf breaks. Take a bike ride to Waimea Falls for nature-lovers. There is plenty of sea turtle and whale watching available for your enjoyment. Nearby facilities provide horseback-riding, boating, sailing and flying. You can play an outstanding game of tennis and golf at Turtle Bay. Shopping and restaurants are yours to enjoy at historic Hale'iwa Town.
