We, my family of four and my brothers’ family of four, bought this as a second home to get away from the Phoenix heat. The cabin was originally three bedroom and we recently completed a remodel, adding two additional bedrooms and extending the front patio. We take great pride in our cabin and have created many lasting memories with family and friends. It is a great place to connect and enjoy the beautiful weather on the Mogollon Rim.
We hope you enjoy your time in Forest Lakes as much as we do!
This is a perfect getaway from the Phoenix heat. We live in Phoenix and the cabin is 2 hours door to door.
The cabin is also well equipped, for those vacationing with children. We have a highchair, children's plates, cups and utensils and lots of games/toys.
This was a family get together, as we live in Az & Cali. We all had such an amazing time at John's cabin. We could relax on the huge, beautiful patio or play darts or beanbag toss or horseshoes! So many activities to choose from! The kitchen is so well stocked with all the pots, pans & utensils you could ask for!! Even a full sIze crockpot!! Plenty of spices too! We weren't able to have fires because of the restrictions, but to be honest, we didn't even miss that. John was available for any & all questions I had. Numerous times during our 4 night stay, comments were made about how accommodating & comfortable the cabin was. Our asssorted families of 14 had such a wonderful, memory-filled time!! Thanks, John! Can't wait to come back!
Incredible Cabin. Pictures dont do it justice. Can sleep a few couples and kids. Great outdoor fireplace under the cover. Watched it rain/Snow from the heat of the fire. So many things to do in the outdoors.
Secluded and rustic. It backs up to the national forest so it is very quiet and comfortable. Huge bedrooms and plenty of extra beds for family and kids.
This Cabin is just perfect for a family getaway. It has plenty of room for everyone to find a place to sleep and the outdoor living space is gigantic and perfect. We spent a little too much time on this porch and the wine was flowing just a little toooo nice. The time seemed to slow down in Forest lakes at this little retreat. Thank you to the owner, he was very helpful.
We rent cabins in the Payson area all the time, and this cabin is by far the best. We had three families, and there were plenty of rooms and beds for everyone. The amenities were unexpected with a ton of games and toys for the kids, a netted trampoline, and a patio/deck that is beyond words. It was 30+ degrees outside, but with an outdoor fireplace and heaters, the patio was amazing. The owner of the cabin was so attentive to make sure all was going okay. We can't wait to go back.
We stayed at this Forest Lakes property just after New Year with 2 other families. We had six adults and a slew of small children. This property had plenty of room and all of the necessities for a great family trip.
There are not a great deal of pictures of the property but the house is beautiful, clean and the deck is to die for! Even though it was January, we spent so much time outside. The deck has a fireplace and several heaters and it is the perfect outdoor space nestled among the tall pines.
The interior of the property has everything imaginable for a perfect weekend (games, toys, magazines, movies, books, utensils for cooking, spices, sleds).
We look forward to returning to this property. It would be a great summer trip as well.
The owner is available and helpful with any questions you have throughout the stay. Thanks to John and his family for opening their vacation home to us.
