Outer Banks Native. I love to travel and see new places but the outer banks is always home. There is no other place like this. I love to surf, snowboard, mountain bike and be active. Love my family were always doing something. I have a special appreciation for my parents and grand parents who helped me to get this home.
Jesse Costin purchased this house in 2002
Completely remodeled house located in Nags Head, one of the best beaches in the world. Excellent for surfing, fishing, diving, snorkeling, or just hanging with the family. Centrally located, near all the Outer Banks attractions like Jockeys ridge. Free public parking everywhere. Near sea food markets or top restaurants if you want to eat out. House was professionally remodeled by contractor, feels like home and not a rental house.
Always look forward to surfing and hanging with old friends. Enjoy the local restaurants and exploring the beach. Riding out a hurricane with friends is always fun( not recommended) Nags Head is very unique and is less built up with commercial craziness and has more mom and pop stores and restaurants.
Upon arrival our family was greeted by Jesse, the owner of the property and a very nice young man. He took the time to give us a tour of the home along with all other ammenities such as bicycles, kayak, beach chairs, and beach umbrellas that he provides. The linens and towels were new and very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with all things needed to cook a great family meal, as well as a gas grill and picnic tables for us to use outside. His home is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood which is walking or biking distance to a public park as well as the beach and many restaurants and coffee shops. Jesse has the best of entertainment including netflix, hulu, and as many cable channels as you could want for those relaxing evenings when you got just a tad too much sun for the day. Jesse has a sweet and adorable cat named Latch who hung out with us on our visit. My family felt as if we were right at home, and Jesse was always available if we needed anything or had questions. Definately our go to home for next summer!!!
This was my first time in the outer banks , I must say my friends and I truly enjoyed our stay at Jesse"s house . We were impressed with all the amenities & cleanselness of his house . The bikes were a plus & location was spot on . It' was nice and cool outside for some nights. I was very happy that he offers a fire pit for those special cold nights .He was such a wonderful host . I will be visiting really soon!
Great stay for a vacation or mini getaway. Jesse was extremely accommodating and it was a huge bonus he had everything you'd need. I did not need to drag our kayak, bikes or even beach chairs/umbrellas. That alone saved us money so we didn't need to rent them. He also took us to Corolla to see the horses!!!!! The house was very clean and updated. If you are looking for a place...this is it. Priced reasonably for everyone's budget!! Don't hesitate.
This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and our first time using VRBO. My review is based on the assumption that around $2500 for a house rental for a week of July10-16 is a pretty good price and therefore is not going to be perfect. That said, I would think that any property you rent out should be clean, tidy, and in good shape. The property owner, Jesse, is very kind and courteous. We saw him several times (as he was staying downstairs for part of the week), and he asked if we needed anything, got us some more clean towels and even went out of his way to mail back my phone charger after I had forgotten it. The property itself needed work. We didn't expect this. It was cool and comfortable inside, but the outside porch area was full of cobwebs, and it appeared as if he was doing some work on the windows, becasue all of the molding around the windows were off and the nails showing. The lawn outside looked as if it needed mowing when we arrived and the firepit is actually some cinder blocks, most of which were crumbling already. The beds and linens were in good shape and the rooms clean. The bathrooms were clean except for the shower fixtures which had mold/mildew on them. It appeared that the dishwasher in the kitchen had mold in it too, so we chose to wash our dishes by hand. I didn't expect that Jesse would be there, because when we did our search for a vacation rental, we specified that we were nto looking for a shared property. Also the bottom of the property has been somewhat finished out, whereas the pictures reflected that there was a car port area where the bikes were stored. While we appreciated being able to have access to bikes, our impression were that there were four. When we arrived there were actually five, but 3 of them had flats and we had pump them up. The location is fine - about 4 blocks from the beach. Overall, while we appreciate Jesse, his thoughfulness and kindness, we would not choose to stay there again.
My husband, friends and I stayed in the house for Memorial weekend. It was just perfect and we felt at home right away. the house is well-equipped, very well located: 10' walk to the beach, 10' walk to the grocery store, 10' walk to the seafood store. and 10' walk to the entrance of the nature trail that takes you to the Sound. We had long and enjoyable moment on the screened porch, where we could enjoy the morning breeze and the afternoon sun. Jesse not only had a warm welcome for us but always made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely return.
My family and I stayed in this house for 8 nights in July 2014. The house was clean, spacious and very well equipped for indoor relaxation as well as being a couple of blocks away from a beautiful beach. Jesse went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy during our stay. He made us feel at home from the moment we checked in. We look forward to many more summer weeks spent in this lovely beach house!
Short walk to the best beaches on the East Coast! Close to several top restaurants like The Red Drum, Tourtugas, Mama Kwans, Lucky 12, JK's, and top coffee shops like Front porch cafe and Waveriders.
Very central to other attractions, centrally located between Carova (wild horses) and Hatteras (ship wreck museum, desolate private beaches). Very short drive to Roanoke island (The Lost Colony out door play, and the Elizabeth II at Fort Raleigh.)
