Newly restored and decorated throughout in 2014, the Assistant Light Keeper's House with its new bright red roof, freshly painted interior, new carpeting and furnishings, modernized bathrooms, and kitchen with all new appliances, is now ready for your vacation rental pleasure.

Overlooking the world-renowned Point Cabrillo Lighthouse, and sited on a sweeping Pacific Ocean Headland, the views are a breathtaking coastal feast for the eyes; passing gray whales, dolphins, and fishing boats...pelicans, gulls, wild turkey, and 47 other species of birds...families of deer...sunsets, starry skies, full moons to die for...and, the endless waves and wonder of the ocean just 57 feet below the nearby cliff top.
Inside, the Assistant Light Keeper's House is comfortably furnished with three bedrooms, two with queen beds, and one with two twin beds made up as a King Bed. Each bedroom has an individual room thermostat for your evening comfort. A modern newly-equipped kitchen and formal dining room will enhance your vacation dining pleasure.
All bedrooms are on the second floor and are not wheel chair accessible. Except for the front porch, all rooms on the ground floor are wheel chair accessible. For wheel chair accessible sleeping accommodations there is a futon in the living room that, upon notice at check inn, can be made into a queen bed. Optionally, there are two adjacent one bedroom detached cottages with accessible baths that may be rented separately or in combination with the house.
The Point Cabrillo Light Station California State Historic Park is owned by California State Parks. The Light Station is managed and operated by the Point Cabrillo Lightkeeper's Association (PCLK), a 501-C3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of the Point Cabrillo Light Station. PCLK has contracted with Mendocino Coast Reservations, a local rental management company, to manage the reservation and occupancy of the houses and cottages.in the park.
Things to do : The Historic Village of Mendocino with its unique Water Towers, Art Galleries, and Restaurants is nearby, visit the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, ride the Skunk Train, and experience the water slide and swimming pools at the CV Starr Aquatic Center in Fort Bragg. Whale watching and charter fishing excursions are available in Noyo Harbor Fort Bragg. Canoe, Kayak, and Bicycle rentals are available in both Mendocino and Fort Bragg Surf Boarding at Big River Beach in Mendocino and at Caspar Beach near the park.
The Point Cabrillo Lightstation: The lighthouse at Point Cabrillo is an active aid to navigation with its third order Fresnel Lens operating today just as it did in 1909. The interior of the lighthouse now contains a museum that tells the story of Northern California from the Pomo Indians, the wreck of the Clipper Ship Frolic, through the construction and reconstruction of the lighthouse. The East Light Keeper's house contains the Light Keeper's Museum displaying the life a a light keeper during the 1930s.
The Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association (PCLK) is a non profit organization dedicated to providing public access and managing the daily activities at the Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park. All of the proceeds earned from the rental of this house are spent for the park in both site maintenance and visitor programs.

PCLK was formed to assist California State Parks with the tasks of restoring the historic structures in the park, maintaining the park over time, providing safe public access to the park, creating interpretive programs for the park, and managing daily park operations.
The Point Cabrillo Light Station has been in continuous use since 1909. Operating with its original 3rd order Fresnel Lens it continues to shine as a mariner's beacon. A stay in the newly restored and remodeled Assistant Light keeper's House will provide you with the experience of enjoying life at this beautiful spot just as if you were one of the original light keepers.

Rates include all taxes and fees. Rates apply year round with a two night minimum for the house. The holiday house rate is $844.50 for a 3 night minimum stay on the following holiday weekends President's Day Weekend, Easter Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, July 4th Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving (Four Night Minimum), Christmas and New Year's Eve.
Visa and MasterCard. No personal checks are accepted less than three weeks prior your arrival. Payments are due as follows:
50% of total amount due at the time of booking.
Balance of total rent due thirty calendar days before arrival date.
Full amount is due for reservations made 30 or less days before arrival date.
Checks will be processed electronically, just like a debit card.
