Another great week on Silver Lake!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at George and Mary's property on Silver Lake. We were very pleased last year, and although I rarely write reviews, this rental deserves to be recognized. Our group has really enjoyed our time at this property.

This rental is nicely situated for a great view of the lake and mountains in the background. The lakeside of the home has a full length room/porch (sliding windows with screens) where the kitchen table and a sitting area are located. This was a great place to enjoy meals and enjoy the views. The 2 docks provide plenty of room for boats and swimming. It is a comfortable inside and out, and their is a genuine sense of pride in ownership from George. I've met him when we arrived both times, and he genuinely wants his guests to enjoy their time at his home. One final note... We all felt as thought the home was stocked as if you owned it you yourself. Kitchen utensils, towels, sheets, and items such as foil, bags, and plastic wrap. I've stayed at a number of places over the years, and this is definitely the best stocked rental I've experienced.

Our thanks to George and Mary. We will definitely return in the future.

An Excellent Vacation at A Wonderful Location

  • 5 of 5

Our two-week stay at George's Silver Lake cottage could not have been more delightful. George is a very generous and accommodating host, easy to deal with, and the place has every amenity, including kayaks and a canoe. We would not hesitate in recommending this owner and his property to anyone desiring a cozy 3-bedroom waterfront cabin on a lake of the purest water. The stars from the dock were spectacular, and even the loons cooperated. We will be back!

Clean, Spacious & Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival to the cottage, the owner, George met us with a smile and a pile of fresh smelling towels. Traveling up from Florida, we did not have room in our luggage for towels or linens so renting a place that had both was an added bonus for us! George showed us around his gorgeous cottage, yard and lake side- even mentioning the friendly chipmunks that would eat right out of your hands. The amenities were perfect for our family, including a loft for the teens to sleep and hang out in! Plenty of space for everyone that visited and stayed over (I would love to sleep on the porch & fall asleep to the sound of the water lapping the shore & the loons calls). The kitchen had enough space for a few adults to work in together and the living room was spacious enough for everyone to watch the Sox! The lake was very clear and offered several different activities: swimming (though I would recommend water shoes because there are smooth rocks for about 10' then the bottom turns sandy), kayaking (watch out the kayaks were sit-ins and can be very tippy), canoeing, fishing (both bass and trout were caught from the dock), and finally boating. The spacious yard allowed for our extended family to play badminton, corn hole and wiffle ball! North Conway was only about 25 min away, which offers shopping and the small town atmosphere, the largest Bolder in N. America was a hop, skip and jump away and several mountains to climb for the novice to experienced hikers. Make sure to bring plenty of sun screen and bug/tick repellent! We enjoyed the personal customer service George, the owner provided and wish one day to own a place just like this one :) We hope to make return trips in the years to follow. I personally could not get enough of the mountain views from the beach, it is where I started my day every morning, with a cup of hot coffee and the sounds of the loon calling. Thank you, George for such a fantastically memorable vacation!

Beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much! Everything we needed was there! Only suggestion I have would be to have a light outside the door which faces the lake. Maybe there is one and I just couldn't find it! I will definitely like to rent your cottage again. Lovely! Thank you for your hospitality!!

Best rental ever!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 3 has been renting houses for 1-2 weeks each summer for most of the past 10 years-- on the NJ shore and on Lake Winnipesaukee. George's house on Loon Lane was perfect in every way. We knew from experience nearby that the location would be spectacular, but we were amazed at how smoothly everything went-- both the rental process on "Homeaway" and the care George takes with the house to make sure that guests' comfort is maximized. It was wonderful to be able to "get away from it all" and yet get work done whenever I wanted to (briefly!) thanks to the excellent Wi-Fi and cell service. We will be recommending this rental to friends whenever possible.
