we walked in the house sheets were dirty the cabin smelt horrible and wet towels on the floors in the bathroom we couldn't stay the scent of the house was so bad
The house had not been cleaned prior to these guests arrival. We immediately upgraded these guests and moved them to another property.
Carpets are stained (who knows what) and haven't been vacuumed. Beds, furniture, linens and kitchen ware are yard sale cast-offs. Hole in ceiling where plumbing repairs were done and not completed. I can go on but not sure management company gives a hoot.
One plus + Neighbours were quiet.
Not clean ,,
Needs to be cleaned,,or re done
nice cabin, just very dated. Perfect for a quick get away and close to everything in South Tahoe.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review Chuck. We hope to accommodate you in the future.
All of Us here at Stay In Tahoe
I have previously stayed in several VRBO rentals - in Wailua (HI), Kanapala (HI), Captain Cook (HI), LA, Oxnard, and Minnesota - this was by far the WORST! it was worse than some crappy, nightmare hotels! let's see...afraid to use the upstairs bathroom due to the large 'leaky pipe' stains showing on the first floor ceiling; and what great fun to sit on the (first floor) potty and put your sock in a cold puddle first thing on a snowy morning (leaking toilet on the first floor); things broken all over - shutters (in upstairs bedroom opening to below); posts in the stairway handrails are kicked out with exposed nails hanging there; nice cuckoo clock COVERED in spider webs; burns and stains on the lovely orange carpet. the beds suck (have to be 25 years old). The ad said rental would provide one roll of TP for each bathroom, then you must supply - there was HALF a roll (of one-ply) in each bathroom, and one extra roll provided that had previously been dropped in a toilet and dried out.....ICK! Advertised with a hot tub, but they don't tell you it's a community hot tub up the street, so make sure you bring a swim suit, cuz you aren't getting privacy in the hot tub, and you'll have to walk back, all wet through the snow. Also, you have to bring your own firewood for the fireplace. [My family owns a similar Lake Tahoe vacation rental, and there is ALWAYS firewood for the people who PAY to rent the place, that's just an expected part of the hospitality business.] they have cable on the TV, but you only get about 10 channels - nothing basic that you would expect to see. I wish I could upload all the photos.
DO NOT BRING SMALL CHILDREN HERE~!
Sufficeth to say: WE WERE VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED. Don't you be too, stay away from this rental.
Cabin is functional, but needs cleaning and updating
The cabin was functional for what we needed. However, the decor, the carpet, just absolutely everything was extremely dated. Yes, the cabin was clean, I'm the sense that the linens were fresh, and floors, counters, and bathrooms were clean. But has anyone ever got on a ladder and dusted the shutters in each bedroom, that look out out over the living room, or the multiple cobwebs everywhere? Just sit in the couch and look up....so gross. None of the other decor had been dusted in forever. Also, the minute we got there, we tried to open the sliding glass door, and close the screen. The screen just fell off. We put it back on, and it kept just falling off. The dishes offered in the kitchen are so random. There is a food processor, but no cutting board. Tea cups for coffee. This house needs some major updating, for the price it's being rented for.
Thank you so much for staying with us. Please call us the next time you would like to stay in Tahoe and we will give you a repeat renter discount.
