We live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada with our 2 teenagers. We have visited Troy's family in PEI every summer for the last 15 years, and decided it's about time to invest in a place of our own to stay.
Robin or Troy purchased this cottage in 2013
We LOVE Thunder Cove beach! It's our favourite beach and it was important to us to find a cottage on or near Thunder Cove. After buying our first beautiful cottage last year (Endless Sands), we are thrilled to have built another cottage right next door. We feel so lucky to have this beautiful cottage. It is perfect for our family, and we hope your family loves it too!
Our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children) loved our stay at this cottage. It had everything we could possibly need. It was in the perfect location for our short day trips. Almost every day we would drive a short distance and explore another beach. Thundercove beach was wonderful and we spent many evenings strolling along the beach collecting shells. The walk to the beach is not too far (our 7 year olds could easily do it) and if you go early-mid July you will love the walk with the abundance of colourful lupins along the side of the road - so pretty. Our dog had a blast running along the beach and it was so nice to be somewhere where dogs were welcome too!
The "manual" filled with tons of local information was very useful and we referred to it often. The board games were a huge hit and family game nights were a lot of fun. There was a tv and a large selection of movies but we were so busy with everything else that we never even turned it on.
Everything went smoothly and the owners were extremely easy to deal with and we had no concerns. We would not hesitate to rent here again. Thank you!
Tunes n' dunes was a lovely spacious cottage that was both comfortable and charming. Troy and Robin went the extra mile and thought of everything to make us feel welcomed for our little week away.
The cottage was clean and well maintained with many extras around that were very useful for our week (cooking supplies, Books, games, bikes, movies and puzzles!).
Troy and Robin were amazingly quick to respond to any questions we had and were a pleasure to deal with.
As for recommending the cottage to friends and relatives we already have and are already planning our next years vacation.
Being a native islander I don't always go to attractions but we enjoyed many days walking on the very quiet beach and ate at my favourite dairy bar Scooters, in Misocuche. It's also fun to watch a ceilidh or concert from local artists.
We are also very happy that we were permitted to bring our Morkie puppy, Stanley, as not many good location cottages allow pets. We couldn't leave home without him and he was very much at home in Darnley.
Thanks Troy and Robin!
Pictures are not good enough this Cottage is AWESOME! It is clean and fresh and lovely....we found it was equipped with everything we needed and much more! Comfortable and spacious....you feel like you are at home! Also the owners are amazing! We plan to return...My two daughter's plus my little granddaughter and I loved this cottage....it is a piece of heaven and so is the beach by it and the little village close by ....everyone we met in this area was helpful and very very friendly Also very close to Ann of Green Gables! Five stars are not enough a billion stars is my rating for it!
We so enjoyed our stay at Tunes N Dunes. Troy & Robin were so nice and the cottage had everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. With a short walk to the beach to see the amazing rock formations. An artists dream! Kensington Station was a short drive with a nice pub and the bakery...oh my!
We will definitely be back. Oh and Troy's Moms home baked bread was great, too!
