About Mrs. Valerie Farmer

Hi, I was born & raised in Chicago area (Bensenville) & my parents bought a campground in Pigeon Forge & moved me here as a teenager. I know now, (not so much then) this is where I was meant to be. Gods country, as I and many call it here. I very rarely leave Gatlinburg, I love mountain living! I have 3, 1 bedroom nightly rental cabins that I clean & maintain (calling in the pros for repairs & some service). This one has the pool another has a it's own private fishing pond....that cabin is called 'The Fishing Hole'. (#812 Boyd Blvd, just down the road) HomeAway or VRBO ID# 3616430 and the third is my crown jewel, offering one of the best mountain views ID #3892912 'A Passionate View' also on the same road, on the ridge top.

I've worked in the 'hospitality' field since moving here, 30 years now & counting. I like to offer a 'Bed & Breakfast' feel to my renters without the 'Inn Keeper' or 'Breakfast'. All 3 of my cabins have luxury linens, nicer towels, the best paper products and a personal touch. I'm also a CPO (certified pool/spa operator) so rest assured you'll have nice safe soaks! My cabins are near where I live which has allowed me to live a really neat lifestyle that I love and feel blessed to have. It is difficult to make a living in Gatlinburg, there are mostly min wage positions here & that is why not many people get to live here. So if your visit is 2 nights or a week, I hope you get a chance to soak up the true essence of the mountains and the wilderness that still exists here. p.s. The bears just want your trash, not you & I hope you get to see one or two! (our black bears are vegetarians unlike the grizzlies out west however, stay clear of momma with cubs, they get protective, wouldn't you?!) Please do not feed any wild animals (even birds!) or leave food scraps available to them, it teaches them bad habits which make them dangerous,

I added the Pool to the Cabin July 2012...$62k project

I'm a hiker if you have any questions about trails

Mrs. Valerie Farmer purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Mrs. Valerie Farmer chose Sevierville

I live in Gatlinburg & maintain my 3 cabins including carpet cleaning every 3 months, quilt & sham laundering every month, offer quality linens, quality towels, and much more behind the scenes upkeep. Things that absent owners or large cabin companies have a hard time accomplishing. I'm also a Certified Pool/Spa Operator so, rest assured that your Swimming Pool & Hot tub are chemically balanced & safely sanitized therefore very comfortable & safe to swim, soak and enjoy (also unlike a company managed Swimming Pool/ Hot tub cabins). Owner maintained units, only allowing 2 people & no pets or children make a big difference!

What makes this cabin unique

The area that all 3 my cabins border is a strip of land owned by The Great Smoky Mt National Park, you see this on the GPS map here on 'location' (switch it to satelite too). It is the green strip of land you see. This land was purchased by the federal government in the 1940's to build a highway to view the mountains on the TN side of the park and has remained untouched since. Similar to the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC, the future road will be a suspended highway (ridge top to ridge top), non-commercial, very few exits and amazing mountain views!) It will still be 20+ years before it is built. Making this land more in the wilderness and a more wildlife friendly area!

If you hike anywhere and have a smart phone try 'Map My Walk' app, there is a 'hike' mode & shows your (gps) map as you hike. It tells your elevation(s), distance, time traveled and more. It says the tree canopy might mess with the GPS but I have not found that to be true.

Perfect cabin for 2!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about the cabin. It's very secluded, but still only about 10-15 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg.

Very clean and well stocked with all the amenities you need. We used the grill one night to grill steaks for supper. We especially enjoyed the private indoor pool and the hot tub. I built a fire in the fireplace 2 nights using the firewood provided (just had to buy a bundle of kindlin at the nearby grocery store) and that made the cabin even more perfect and cozy!! All in all, we thought it was perfect and couldn't think of anything that would have made it any better. If you're looking for the perfect place for a couples getaway, this is your spot!!

If we could give "Sweet Memories" more than 5 stars- we would in a heartbeat! This house was well above and beyond our expectations. We stayed for our honeymoon first week of October- perfect time of year! The house was in a perfect location for everything we wanted to see and do- driving distance to all Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge had to offer. Valerie's response time was immediate! She was an amazing person to work with! The house itself( as well as the the hot tub and pool) were emmaculate! The whole atmosphere was PERFECT for our honeymoon and we plan on coming back to this exact house in the future! Highly recommend staying here for a romantic get away!!!

Sweet Memories by the Pool is located in Hemlock Falls which is known for it's larger lots in the mountains, elevation aprox. 2400. There is a spring fed fish pond at the entrance that you are welcome to fish in! (Cabin is 2/10 mile from pond) With only 40 rental cabins (all different styles) on 75 acres, keeps the community low on traffic and relaxing. The critters enjoy the peace also and don't bother too much, mainly raid trash cans in the fall. The forest surrounding the cabin has a nice variety of native wildflowers & really neat mushrooms.

You'll be passing through part of the Arts & Craft area on your way to the cabin. Really neat 'Trail' of 120ish artists that create their art, on site, usually living near their shop, raising their family and doing what they love to do. You can drive from shop to shop or park & hop the trolley.

Taxi service & pizza delivery are easily obtained from this cabin also.

Map pin is slightly off, it is in the curve. Above the word "Boyd". Switch to "satellite" to see how far the neighbor cabins are, green roof is Sweet Memories, in a vast forest!
