We are the owners of this dream house and we are very excited to share our piece of paradise with you and your family.
We are a multi-cultural and bi-lingual family. My husband and I met in Japan where I was living and teaching for 8 years. We have traveled the world and love meeting new people.
I continue to teach here and my husband works in the hospitality industry. We are living out our dream.
We live in the separate bottom unit with our 2 young sons and will be available if you need any help. We can offer advice, tips and ideas about how to enjoy Honolulu the way locals do. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
The Owner purchased this house in 2011

See the endless ocean view with all its Pacific blues. See the bird's-eye view of the gentle sloping Diamond Head. See the breathtaking sunsets in the evenings. See the the night lights of city twinkle below.

Give yourself and your family a wonderful Hawaiian vacation!!!
This is a real home with a nice vintage feel and great view. It has a fully outfitted kitchen, functional dining room, living room with cozy conversation area, three bedrooms and, best of all, two bathrooms with showers. It can easily accommodate 2 couples, a pair of kids, and a third couple on the futon in the living room. It also has an expansive lanai with additional dining and seating opportunities and a marvelous view from way up high of Diamond Head, Waikiki and the ocean beyond. It is an easy drive (straight down) to the tourist areas of Waikiki and back (straight up). Very narrow, steep roads, but drivers are gracious. Not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties, because of the flight of steps up to the entrance on the lanai, and the challenge of emerging from a car parked on a slope (both driveway and on-street parking). But if you don't mind hills, this is an uncrowded and wonderful place to enjoy Honolulu and environs. Cristin and her young family live downstairs, and were helpful and courteous, without hovering. Would definitely stay again, with my crowd of 8!
We were sick of sterile hotels and wanted something different for our family vacation in Hawaii. We were traveling with 2 young kids who needed room to run around and regular home-cooked meals. Luckily we found this place. Here are some things I noted that give this a big edge over any hotel:
1. Lots of space - so the kids can be kids...
2. Extras - from endless towels to beach supplies, pretty much everything is available at no extra cost.
3. Kitchen - it has everything from standard pots and pans to blender, pannini press to hot-sauce and ziplock bags. We did not feel the urge to rush to grocery store for every small need.
4. Easy access to washer/dryer - this was needed way more than we had originally anticipated. We were doing a full-load of sand-filled clothes every day.
5. Books and games everywhere you look - if you have the time and inclination for that at some point during the stay.
The views from the home were gorgeous and I still miss the constant breeze. The hosts are gracious and helpful. We hope to be back for another visit.
This was a wonderfully restful place to stay. We arrived late at night so we only caught a glimpse of the view (city lights). Wow, the next morning was a treat from the lanai. Diamond Head surrounded by ocean, with an ocean liner passing by. It was like a moving postcard. I grew up near Diamond Head so it was nice to look at that area and reminisce about when I lived there.
Our family of 7 (3 generations) were comfortable and had lots of room to gather yet also have our own space if desired. We were able to keep the inside of the house reasonably tidy because we kept all of our beach gear and wet clothes outside. There were beach chairs, mats, flippers, a cooler and a stroller to use for our outings that saved us from buying. There was a washer and dryer available which really helped.
We worried a little about the noise we made since we were above the owners and their young children. They were very nice and never complained despite us having 3 noisy teenagers and a 2 year old. Cristin is a wonderful hostess. She checked on us but didn't intrude on our privacy. Her sons are darling.
The location was really perfect for us. It does require driving (versus a Waikiki hotel) but we were only a short drive from all of the places we love to eat (the drive to Leonards was quicker than the wait time there) and play. In order to have the beautiful view, there is a bit of a crazy drive up the hill, and the vehicles are noisy because of the uphill, downhill and turns.
We plan to stay here for future vacations as long as Cristin keeps this VRBO going.
This house makes you feel like you are home! It has everything a house needs to have and lots more you would never expect. Very clean I loved the fact that the sheets were so clean and smelled clean. Perfect view. It's just the perfect house to stay. Christin is also very friendly very kind. That was one of my concerns because of not so friendly house owners that I have met in the past. I would give this place a 10 star if I could. Very pleased with my stay.
Our family of 7 stayed at Cristin's house for 10 Days. We loved our stay there. If we would return to Honolulu, we would look no further than Cristin's house. The house was in a very good location. From the lani, we could see Diamond head and the Honolulu skyline and the ocean. We saw fireworks on the 4th of July from the lani. The house was in great working order and had a well stocked kitchen with everything we needed to get our vacation off to a great start. The house was very comfortable for the 7 of us. Loved it!! Thanks again Cristin!
There were 7 of us at the house, and it accommodated us nicely. We spent delightful evenings on the lanai and got really good photos of Diamond Head and the city of Honolulu. We also had some really pretty birds visit us that we had not seen before. Cristin is a great hostess. She totally respected our privacy, but was always willing to share helpful tips with us when we asked, such as where do we get good pizza, grocery store location, etc.. We enjoyed all the fun things we did in Hawaii, but I think the most memorable would be the Luau at Paradise Cove, and the dinner cruise on the Star of Honolulu. This home really contributed to our wonderful Hawaiian vacation. I would recommend it to everyone, except it might be difficult for those with disabilities due to the stairs. A big Mahalo to Cristin for allowing us to share her home for a wonderful week in the paradise of Hawaii. Aloha!!!
