Log Cabin on Buck Mountain. Close to Wilkesboro, Boone & Blowing Rock

Bedrooms 2
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin- 2 Bedrooms + Loft. Sleeps 6-8. 2 queen beds, 1 full bed, 1 futon

We require bookings to be made at least 2 weeks in advance of check-in.

We built our cabin in 2007. We chose this lot on Buck Mountain because it gives you the feeling of being in nature, where it is remote and secluded. However, it enjoys easy access to Wilkesboro (12 miles), Boone (20 miles), Blowing Rock, and a wide variety of outdoor activities.

Our goal for the cabin was to keep it simple and charming, with all of the necessary comforts. The main floor includes the master bedroom (queen size bed), a full bath, and a full kitchen with all of the necessessities. The kitchen shares an open floor plan with the main living space. There is a pub table that seats 4 and a counter with 2 bar stools. The living room has a gas fireplace, 40 inch flat screen TV, and opens onto the lovely 10 X 24 Deck (with seating). The loft has a full size bed and a futon. The ground floor has a bedroom (queen size bed), a full bath, and a living space with a TV and ping pong table.

We are outdoor enthusiasts. Buck Mountain has hiking trails, a lovely waterfall, picnic areas, and 4-wheeler trails (you must obtain a permit for your atv). We like to take advantage of the neaby activities as well (fly-fishing, winter sports, tubing, vineyards, football games at Appalachian State, mountain biking, and hiking). The possibilities are endless. However, the cabin is just as suited for relaxing in nature and 'getting away from it all.'

About Lindsey

My husband is a city firefighter and small business owner. I work from home as a research assistant for a law firm. We have 2 small children and a very large dog.

Lindsey purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Lindsey chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

We are 'beach people.' However, we love the mountains. We like to spend as much time there as possible.

What makes this cabin unique

Our spot on Buck Mountain is relaxing and secluded. We love to get out and enjoy the beauty of nature!

We had a wonderful, quiet, peaceful time. We were in Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro for our Family Reunion. All of us would highly recommend this cabin. Can't say enough about how great the owners are.

Was very quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Boone, blowing rock, grandfather mountain, Parkway and quaint towns just minutes away. Will definitely want to go back.

Great Escape

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This property was a home away from home. It exceeded our expectations and the seclusion, quiet, and scenery allows for a very peaceful vacation escape. We were amazed upon our arrival, the pictures do not do this propery justice. Amazing and easy to work with owners. Will definitely revisit this property.

Buck Mountain

  • 5 of 5

This is our fourth year at this property on Buck Mountain. We have found it to be very comfortable, clean, and well stocked with necessities for a restful and peaceful stay. The owners are very responsive so that plans can be made with very little effort.

Wonderful trip!

  • 5 of 5

The owners were very easy to work with and the cabin was better than expected with a beautiful view of the mountains! We loved being out on the porch. The listing was accurate and the property was well-maintained. The only negative about the stay is that the road to the cabin is partially paved and partially gravel the entire way. We enjoyed riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway, eating and shopping in Blowing Rock and visiting the Moses H. Cone Park.

We would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay here! We visited the area to attend the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival and needed a place to stay - this fit the bill perfectly. The weather was beautiful and the area was quiet - just as we'd hoped. We spent a great deal of time relaxing on the deck enjoying the view. The cabin was well stocked, clean and the owners were quick to respond to any questions. We loved the cabin and the location. We will definately consider staying here again.
