Sydney, the gateway to Australia, is one of the world’s premier destinations. It is a city of spectacular natural beauty and stunning world famous architecture. Above all, it is renowned for its free-spirited outdoor lifestyle.
Overseas visitors delight in the diversity of walking opportunities that exist within easy reach of our home. So close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge (SHB) and the Opera House (OH) the Rocks and Botanical Gardens (BG).
Discover the charm of this magnificent harbour alone or on on guided walks that hug the coastline. Watch world-class yachts sail by as you hike along the high sea cliffs at the entrance to Sydney Harbour. Museums, Beaches, Art.
Take a guided tour and learn about Australia’s early history as you stroll through the alleys and laneways in the now-eclectic Rocks district. Just a short 12 min Ferry ride from our home that passes under the SHB and right by the OH. And guess what? Taking the Ferry is by far the preferred option of residents in this area. It’s just a ‘spectacular’ way for them to start the working day.
If you need convincing about our location then I suggest you take time to read though our many reviews.

Set in one of the world’s most beautiful cities we are located so close to the The Sydney Opera House, The Harbour Bridge, Barangaroo, Anzac Bridge, Darling Harbour, and Casino, Aquarium, Chinatown & Sydney’s CBD. Balmain today is one of Sydney’s’ most sought after Inner City Habourside locations with an enviable, friendly family village lifestyle.
The house is fully furnished including hotel quality white linen and towels, china, glassware, flatware and cookware. Set on two levels, three, if you count the rooftop terrace. On the ground level is the kitchen, a combined pantry and laundry with WC, then the formal dining room and elegant living/lounge room with French doors leading on to a front patio with unobstructed City and Habour views. Both rooms have white Carrara marble surround fire places fueled by Natural Gas. Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms each furnished traditionally and complemented with original brass bed. There is an ensuite bathroom off the rear bedroom. Both front and rear bedrooms have sizable wrap around balconies offering extensive views to The Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Anzac Bridge, Darling Harbour and the Sydney City skyline itself with cruise liners berthing directly opposite the house. In summer you can expect some relief from the heat at about 11 am each day as the cross breezes arrive off Sydney Harbour.
In the event that you love the sound of this house but need another bedroom for the Nanny, teenager, parent or grandparent who prefer their own space but you need them safe and close at hand, we can help here too as the house does have a stunning self-contained unit (separate rental : VRBO ref 360717) that can be combined with the house rental or as a stand-alone option. If this sounds like it fits your requirements you would need to bring it to our attention so we could negotiate its inclusion during your stay.
PLEASE NOTE. If you wish to have the house to yourself and for us NOT to rent the studio to a third party you must inform us prior to confirming your booking. There is a common garden and entry. Your rate would be adjusted by negotiation.

Finding a suitable place online and not knowing a City can be a daunting task but in this case it was so easy. All the posted reviews and communications with the owners made it so. The Location is without question perfect for any tourist or business traveller as all the necessary transport amenities are so close by and easy to use. We ate out everyday and night and weren’t disappointed. For those that might want to cook occasionally the kitchen is fantastic as is the rest of the house.
Travelling by Ferry under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and past the Sydney Opera House each day was just a delight. It is spectacular. The Village suburb of Balmain has lots of restaurants, bars and cool shops….. just so close to everything and no car required with such a great Public Transport System.
Excellent location with great amenities. We loved it. Highly recommended.
Giacomo greeted us as we arrived, gave us a tour of the home and made recommendations for things to do during our stay. He was warm and welcoming. We were in a great neighborhood with restaurants and shops and close to the water ferry to get to the Harbor. Our stay in Sydney was excellent although short. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at this lovely home in Balmain for three nights in March of this year. We (my husband, myself, and our three boys ages 7-16) really loved it and would highly recommend it. Why? First, the fabulous views over the city and bridge - can't be beat. Second, the proximity of the house to the ferry dock and the wonderfully relaxing way to travel around. Third, the authentic and clean accommodations which provided plenty of room for all of us and have a lovely Victorian feel to them. Fourth, the great food in Balmain (do not miss the breakfast at Kaffeine). Last but not least - the friendly and helpful welcome provided by Lyn and Giacomo who were present but never intrusive. They were able to provide great advice and suggestions for us regarding both Balmain itself and further afield - Bondi, etc. Our booking process with Giacomo went smoothly and a few questions I had were answered before we arrived. We took Giacomo's advice and used Nina's car service for our trip from the airport and back to the airport and we were so glad we did. She was friendly and punctual. If we are lucky enough to get back to Sydney in the future, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
My fiancée and I recently stayed at Giacomo and Lyn's lovely studio apartment. We only had a weekend with them but wished it could have been longer. The studio was compact, cosy, exceptionally clean and had all you needed to be completely self sufficient. The proximity to the bus and ferries to Circular Quay make this property extremely desirable. Giacomo and Lyn guided us every step of the way from arrival to departure. This is a lovely property owned by lovely people and we rate this as an all time favorite, worthy of returning. Karen and Bill
We stayed twice at this beautiful place, once at the beginning of March when we arrived in Sydney, and then again when we came back to Sydney before flying home to Canada. The location was excellent! Close to the ferry station and lots of shops & dinning. We loved the house! It was perfect for our family and our 5 year old twins loved the all the balconies (the roof top terrace was their favourite!) Giacomo and Lynn made our stay very enjoyable and comfortable. Perfect place to stay! Very highly recommended.
We just returned from our stay at this beautiful home, and we plan to come back next year. Fantastic location - great night time views and close to the ferry station and downtown Balmain. Our three young children loved the house as much as we did - lots of balconies and a sun roof to explore. The house was spotless, and well appointed. Giacomo and Lynn are great hosts. Highly recommended!!!
