Conveniently situated just minutes to Darling Street's vibrant cosmopolitan cafe/restaurant strip of the Balmain friendly village, transport is a breeze. Transport is virtually at your doorstep. A brisk walk to the Ferry Wharf would take you just 10 minutes, and there are plenty of cafes along the way for brunch. A walk to the nearest bus stop on Darling Street, would take 2 minutes. A 12 minute ferry ride from Balmain to the City takes you past two of Australia’s most recognized icons. The house is fully furnished including hotel quality white linen and towels, china, glassware, flatware and cookware. Set on two levels, three, if you count the rooftop terrace. On the ground level is the kitchen, a combined pantry and laundry with WC, then the formal dining room and elegant living/lounge room with French doors leading on to a front patio with unobstructed City and Habour views. Both rooms have white Carrara marble surround fire places fueled by Natural Gas. Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms each furnished traditionally and complemented with original brass bed. There is an ensuite bathroom off the rear bedroom. Both front and rear bedrooms have sizable wrap around balconies offering extensive views to The Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Anzac Bridge, Darling Harbour and the Sydney City skyline itself with cruise liners berthing directly opposite the house. In summer you can expect some relief from the heat at about 11 am each day as the cross breezes arrive off Sydney Harbour.

We were lucky enough to call this house "our home" for 7 days. 12 friends rented all three properties to celebrate New Years Eve. The location is perfect. We didn't need to leave the houses to see the fireworks. Lyn and Giacomo are wonderful hosts.

Perfect house

Balmain is a very nice area. It's like a very nice village. You can find everything. Shops, cafes, restaurants, groceries stores... Giacomo is a very welcoming host, he explains everythin. The house is a jewel- historic, perfect location, close to bus and ferry and shops and restaurants. We liked the views of the skyline, the Harbour Bridge and the quiet courtyard. Highly recommended! We loved coming home after a day spent in the city.

A Lovely Way to Enjoy Sydney

My brother rented Giacomo and Lyn's lovely homes for a family trip to see my nephew play in the annual American college football game. Australia. Balmain is a beautiful district of Sydney, the one home modern, fully updated and with every amenity. The other home (where I stayed and I preferred), with an adorable quaint charm, and best of all a panoramic roof deck to enjoy one of the most stunning cities in the world, while enjoying a glass or two of wine.

From their guidance on restaurants, walks, cultural events and pubs, their generosity arranging for transit cards, lending jackets, scarves, whatever we needed for a perfect time in the Harbour City, our hosts could not have been more gracious and solicitous.

I don't know that there could be a better city vacation combination than Sydney, as guests of Lyn and Giacomo

Great place, great location and lots of charm

The house was great. Very old house with lots of charm, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Great rooftop for relaxing and dining with great view. Owners are fantastic. Very helpful. I'd definitely stay here with my family again.

Wonderful space and location

Our family of 5 thought the space was excellent. We spent 5 nights. Nice view of the City. The beds were very comfortable. The place had about anything you could need. Plenty of paper products and soap and laundry soap. The location is about 10 min from the ferry wharf walking. This wharf has a ferry that goes to Darling Harbor as the next stop (7 min) OR go the other direction and in 3 stops you are at Circular Quay (less than 15 min). And you can catch the bus closer to go to wharf or into the City as well. There is a good kitchen set up with all you need. Owner brought a drip coffee pot in for us as they had a couple of options. Instruction/information book is helpful. The info on the HomeAway app that the owners send is invaluable so read it and use it. We took a cab from airport which was about $100 AUS for a maxi taxi (for 5) on the way there due to early morning traffic and construction at airport delays. It was much faster and about $30 AUS cheaper on the way back to airport to leave as we left later in a.m. The outside decks are very neat. If it would have been a little warmer and less rainy we could have used more--such as in different season. One shower and two toilets was good. Heaters in each room were great in the evenings during this time of year. Remember you will need adaptors for the electric outlets. The grocery store was about 10 minutes walking. There are several restaurants between grocery store and apartment. We had Gigi's Italian, Sushi Hub, Gellataria gelato and Joe's Deli for some heat at home Italian. All were good. Bottle shop for beer and wine was in the same area. Owners were very responsive and helpful in setting up the reservation and during the stay.

Beautiful, historic home in a great location.

We had a wonderful time in Sydney. This home was charming and interesting with lovely historical touches throughout. Giacomo and Lynn were very professional and helpful. We especially loved the rooftop terrace and great view. We hope to return someday. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

Great experience.

We very much enjoyed our time at this lovely home. Giacomo was very helpful and made himself available for any questions we might have, and very warm. The home is delicately furnished, and very well situated after a short beautiful walk through the park to the ferry, where all main Sydney attractions are a short ride away.
